I love the American Idol game. I bought it about 4 months or so ago and I love to play it every so often. I like that it has songs I know and don't know. What I don't like is that after getting all of the songs, there aren't any more. Also, I don't like the fact that there are duets but only one mic. Everything else is great. Definately buy it.
What's great about it: Songs, Microphone
What's not so great: One Microphone, Repetitive

When I first purchased this game I had the hopes of having the availability to download more songs from the Wii internet connection. After I got home I was a little disappointed. I continued on and played the game with my wife and a few friends, it was a good time. I also played a little through by myself so I could really let loose! That was fun also, the judges are very accurate in judging the performance. Also, the note tube needs a little adjusting to match the output from the tv but after adjusting the settings the gameplay is fun. After a few days of playing, the songs became repititious and I wanted to have a better selection, there are a few songs that you can unlock but not enough to keep my interest. Overall its a fun game for a while but will loose your interest after a few weeks.
What's great about it: fun to play maybe 5 times, with a group of friends or by your self
What's not so great: After you have gone through all the songs it gets kind of repetitious.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love this game and on the easy level everyone can be a rockstar. I only wish it offered more songs. You whip through the song list in no time and get bored doing the same tunes over and over. I bought it for my 8 year olds american idol theme party and all the kids had a blast singing away but they were even more limited in song choices.
What's great about it: Lots of fun
What's not so great: limited songs

This game is great! My whole family plays! Even my dad came out of his shell to sing because there was a Billy Joel song!! Great hit at a pool party if you're forced inside because of rain!
What's great about it: Doesn't judge you on actual singing, just pitch, lol!
What's not so great: Only comes with one mic, you have to buy another to do duets.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is the second American Idol-themed game for the popular Kararoke Revolution series -- and the first one on the Wii. While the show makes great use of the Idol license, it falls short in many catergories. Unlike the PS2 version, there are barely any customizable options for your charater, no Ryan Seacrest, and it is way too easy. And unlike the PS3 and 360 versions, there is no downloadable content, so you are stuck with the songs that come on the disc. It's a shame too, because who wouldn't want to sing "Straight Up" (one of the downloadable songs) and have Paula Abdul herself judge you?
All in all, its a good party game, but it leaves a lot to be desired.
What's great about it: Great use of AI License
What's not so great: No customizable features

What could be better than sining with all your buddies after a night out, i'll tell you what's better - having the judges tell you what they think of your singing.
However - the worst thing about this game - there is a song list of 40 - you can add a further 3 songs with progress - however there are around 15 videos, frankly I think this game would be a lot better if they'd stuck with song choice and enabled the user to unlock around 20 songs!

Excellent game if you like karaoke. I love this game and I like all genre of music so this game is sooo much fun for me. I have been playing it by myself in tournament mode but I think they should add a feature in the finals where you have to select a certain genre of song like they do in actual American Idol. It is too easy to keep picking the same song over and over to win, but that is also very boring. I love this game and would recommend it to anyone!
What's great about it: Everyting
What's not so great: Tornament is too easy

This game was soooo fun. I am a lover of American Idol and when I saw this game I new I wanted it. I just got a wii and this looked like such a fun game. It was really cool because I didn't think their were going to be many songs I new but almost all of the songs were up to date or just oldies songs that were very popular. I would reccomend this to anyone who loves singing and AI.

I love singing games but this one is probably my favorite! I love the song selection in this game!
This gives you a different approach at playing a game. You don't hold a remote and push buttons.. you hold a microphone and actually sing into it and the game will score you! There is different levels of difficulty so if you can't sing that good but love to sing put it on easy.. if you can sing very well and think you should be a rock star put it on hard and see how good you really are!
I highly recommend this game if you want a change from the normal games and love to sing!
What's great about it: Lots of fun belting out the tunes! Good music selection!
What's not so great: none

I really like this game. It's a blast if you have a lot of people playing. As you play the game, you unlock videos and other songs, but it takes FOREVER to get any new songs. I would still recommend it though!!
What's great about it: This is a game that everyone will want to play!
What's not so great: Too hard to unlock other songs.

this is a fun family game of karoake. We have had a lot of fun singing and competing against each other. We are having to learn a lot of the songs because we are unfamiliar with them, but it is fun.

My wife is a great singer and loves AI and in the 10 years we've been married she's never been a gamer. I bought her this game and the family gathered one Sunday afternoon to check it out. We started singing and slowly she took over the mic. It was soo funny watching everyone walk away out of boredom whiles she wailed away. I wlaked through the family room about 3 hours later and she was still playing; by herself. So from that perspective it was excellent.
The downfall began when I googled searching for new song downloads and found out this capability does not exist for Wii. Very frustrating as the 40 song selection is OK, but very limited. More frustration came when I found out other game systems offer downloads of new songs. She's about done with all the songs and unfortunately there is an end in sight.
Had the game had downloading capabilities I would have rated it a 5 star. instead I am being very gracious giving it a 3 star.
What's great about it: Great Karaoke Game
What's not so great: No song expansion capabilities
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I would have expected more than 40 song selections. I found this game to be very dissapointing. After playing it only a few times it will be shelved. A waste of money

This game is really fun but there are not enough songs. I got this game 2 weeks ago and am already tired of the songs. It gets really hard when you go up the levels from easy to hard. I don't have another microphone yet to do the duets but I am going to get one. The tournements are fun and the judging is exactly like the show. I just wish they added a feature to download more songs.
What's great about it: Easy if you are not a singer
What's not so great: Not enough songs

when i first bought the game i hoked it up and i started to play. the next day i hoked it up and the microphone did not work so i went to returne it. After that the microphone worked fine.i would recommed this game to anbody who is a fan of kareoke like myself.the only promblem was it was kind of expensive.

What's not so great: needs more songs besides that none

i am not a singer by any means but this game is awesome. i have had everyone in the house playing the game within hours. this is fun for all ages. you will being having so much fun that you will lose track of time.

This is the best interactive game I have played for the wii. The songs are great,alot of fun with family and friends. The judges are so real and up front like on the show. The only con I see is there are not enough songs on the game.

It was worth the wait for Konami to release their awesome Karaoke Revolution for the Wii. I had played a previous version on xBox and it was great. I tried Boogie a few months ago and was severly disappointed. The characters are actually people. The portrayal of Simon, Randy and Paula are awesome. The game play is fantastic. The only reason that I am glad that I purchased Boogie months ago, is that now I have 2 microphones which is great for Duet mode. Don't waste your money on Boogie.
What's great about it: The lyrics delivery is excellent
What's not so great: none...absolutely none

My husband bought this game for me, as we are huge American Idol fans. It took a little bit of courage for me to play because I can't carry a tune in a bucket - but I had SOOO much fun playing it! The game measures ones ability to keep up with the song and the different pitches. Some songs are harder than others, but that keeps it interesting. The mic isn't wireless - but the cord is very long so you have plenty of room to move around. If you like and American Idol and like to sing (even if you can't), you'll love this game! :)
What's great about it: Anyone can play
What's not so great: So fun that you run out of song quickly
