What's not so great: Not one screw seemed to fit and the instruction are extremely inadequate
I just spent hours installing this ac. The instructions were absolutely useless. Maybe its me, but not one screw for attaching the top and side vents would hold. Two trips to hardware store

What's great about it: Remote Control, Energy Saver Mode, Raw Power
What's not so great: Overall Weight, Not Fantastic Installation instructions
We purchased this AC unit to cool the 2nd floor in our Colonial home. The 1st floor has central air which doesn't touch the upstairs. I did the math and determined we needed ~15000 BTU's to effectively cool our entire 2nd floor. I was leary if a single unit in one room could do this vs. multiple units but I was proven wrong by this particular unit.
You can set it up to operate on a temperature range and let it go. It took ~1 hour to cool our 900 sq. ft. 2nd floor, running on high.
Best buy's price on this unit was also a strong selling point, much less than all the online and retail competitors I checked out.
The only downside so far has been the installation and handling of the unit. The install instruction are at times vague in description and the pictures leave you wanting more. The weight can be difficult to move the unit, especially going up and down stairs.
Overall love it and hope it will last for years to come.
I would recommend this to a friend!

has alot of cooling power. very quiet. great for the price.

What's great about it: Blows cold and far, very quiet
What's not so great: Heavy and requires installation expertise
I have a 1,600 square foot double-wide. The area of the front end has a vaulted ceiling and opens across to a dining area and the kitchen. My current AC in that area was a 12,000 BTU Frigidaire unit. During most of summer, we ran the 12K unit on high most of the day to keep the temperature bearable. We have other AC units in the bedrooms, but this is where most of my family of 7 spend most of their time.
This unit is very large. I had to hire someone to install it because it requires the case to be permanently attached to the window, then the unit slides in from the inside. You will need two people to lift this unit- it weighs 125 lbs. It is also very large. Make sure it fits your window. Ours was pretty close to being too small.
There is a reason, however, for having such a large unit. First of all, it circulates air much more robustly than smaller units. Second, it can perform much more quietly and at a higher level than it’s smaller counterparts. This was the largest window unit I could find that would work with a standard 115V outlet. It cools very well. It is very quiet, even with fan on high. It also appears to avoid a common problem with other window units- water clogging.
In the past, I have always bought the “just big enough” units. Never again.

What's great about it: Blows very cold air! Cools my 840 sq ft trailer pretty well. Run fan on medium most of the time and it's not very loud.
What's not so great: So far, nothing.
This thing works as advertised. Has cool programable features, blows very cold air, and runs medium quiet. It's more money than a 12,000 btu but for me it was worth it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: Very heavy machine
Bought this air conditioner without looking into it very much and it turns out that it was a very good buy. It's very heavy but pretty quiet and powerful.
