What's great about it: Lots of storage options, picture quality is acceptable

"The picture quality is acceptable, especially for the price. The choice of location for the USB connector is ridiculous. If you want to display your pictures in portrait mode (with the frame sitting vertically) instead of landscape mode, you can't use the USB port for a thumb drive, because the frame won't stand up. When it's sitting in portrait mode, the USB connection is on the bottom pointing down, but most USB drives will go past the edge of the frame, preventing it from standing up. Also, when the frame is sitting in portrait mode, the remote won't stay in the cradle."

"I recieved this as a Christmas gift. Its terrific! I just put some pictures on a SD card plugged it in and plays a slide show. What could be easier? I really like this gift. I would buy this and give it as a gift also. This would be a great gift for those who are not computer literate but, have a camera with a memory card. just plug in the card and view the pictures. How cool is that. Thanks Ashley and Dennie for this gift! It's a great gift."

What's great about it: Easy set up and use of either internal memory or SD card, nice simple frame.
What's not so great: Wish it had more than 128MB, but for $50 - can't be greedy.

"As to the other that states, you get what you pay for. This is true. $50 buys you a $50 buck digital frame. As to it being "cheap" I must disagree. Unknown to most is that Insignia and Dynex, both Best Buy in house brands are actually made for Best Buy from either LG or Sharp, and LG for Dynex. So I think for the dollar factor you can't go wrong. Have had this up and running 24/7 since just before Xmas. For the dollar value, it is the same picture as a friend of mine who has a LG model similar in size, shape, color and everything else and paid much more. I happen to like the picture, and for the price, am more than satisfied. Remember, even a top name brand can break in a day or two. This so far is proving to be worth the money. A great value. Did buy a 8GB SDHC card so that I could put more pics on display. As I stated before, running 24/7 and have over 750 pics and no problem. Actually just ordered 2 more for a family member and friend. And oh yeah, I dropped it when hanging it, sturdy little thing as it took the drop with no problem at all. I recommend this product."

"For of all, lets be honest, most, if not all people who review products have no clue how to give an honest review. People that have a good experience with this product give 5 stars, how can any digital frame have 5 stars for each measure. When you review, you have to bench mark it against the top-tier products in the related category. Trust me, Insignia does not manufacture any products, TV's, Blu-ray players or digital picture frames that warrant a 5 star rating across the board, get real. Okay, the product is cheap, after all its a generic Best Buy house brand, which makes it below average to average just on that alone. The resolution is average, the looks are average to slightly above average. Insummary, you get what you pay for, just like any other AV related product. You buy an Insignia, you get just that...low quality..."

"A prior review stated the internal memory only holds about 22 pictures. This is because they did not downsize their 5MB pics. The internal memory is 128MB, plenty big for lots of pictures. In the setup menu on the frame (located in the "select card" menu), you need to select "Copy Type", then "Resize" to better manage your memory. You don't need a 5MB picture on a 7" frame. I loaded about 200 pictures on the two I bought for gifts, and could load alot more at an average of about 150kb each.

I love the sleek black flat frame. I had never bought a digital frame before because of the ugly, cheap looking frames they put on these expensive toys. But this one looks very nice. But, I'm sure the high-gloss plastic will scratch very easily - wish they'd made it out of glass. But for 50 bucks, it's an awesome deal. Nice, bright picture. I don't like the transitions between pictures very much though. The "fade" is choppy, not smooth, and the others are too abrupt. They should have given the transition timing another second or so. The 16:9 screen ratio (wide) caused me some problems with cutting off peoples heads in my pics. I had to manually crop/adjust my pictures before loading them to make them fit better (if you want them to show up on the full 16:9 screen). Otherwise, select "normal" size, but the picture won't fill the whole screen. That being said, I'm buying two more for gifts today because it's a great deal at $50."

"I did alot of of searches for Digital photo frames because I know my mother wanted one for Christmas. I bought this one based on the price, size, and other reviews.

Great frame, clarity of photos are good. Besides a memory card you can also use a memory stick which is a great feature because you can download the photos from your computer to the memory stick and you don't have to keep your camera memory card in the frame. There is also internal memory in this frame which is nice though internal memory only holds about 20 photos. Frame also has a remote control which is a plus.

Would definitely like to purchase one for myself, can't find a better deal then this."

"I think that this digital frame is great quality!!! And the price just cant be beat! I havent had any issues with the item overheating or getting very hot even after hours of use. What's great about it: Very easy to upload photos, nice appearance, basic features

"I wanted to purchase my parents a digital frame for their wedding anniversary. After purchasing, and later returning, two digital frames from two other stores, I decided that the third time was the charm and checked out Best Buy. I was pleasantly surprised at their selection of frames and was very satisfied with the Insignia frame I purchased.
The box is right - it was very easy to use. It came with a quick guide manual to upload photos and the pictures didn't take more than a few seconds to upload. The remote is very easy to use, as well as the buttons on the back. There's even a remote holder on the back of the frame so you can keep the remote attached. I like how there are lots of choices on how to transition the photos and the menu is very easy to navigate.
I'm not sure how the USB port works, but I have a SD card and it worked great. It's sleek and simple and I wish I had gone to Best Buy on my first trip!"

Nice Photo Fame 05/30/2008

What's great about it: Very clear display with good resolution
What's not so great: 16:9 aspect ratio doesn't work on all pictures

"I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to load the pictures. Just upload to an SD card (or it takes other formats of memory cards too) and plug in the frame. When you insert the memory card, presto... instant slide show. The brightness on this frame is better than a digital picture frame made by Polaroid I already owned, and that is another plus.

I noticed one negative. When you have a vertical picture you get a letter box effect on the left and right, which is to be expected. However, on a horizontal photo in some of my shots the top and bottom of the picture are cut off due to the 16:9 aspect ratio. It results in decapitated subjects in some group shots.

Most cameras use either a 3:2 or a 4:3 aspect ratio. I tend to fill the frame in the view finder of my Nikon D70 SLR. There is nothing worse than group shots taken with the subject matter only filling the center of the frame. In the case of this digital photo frame, however, this normally bad composition through the viewfinder of the camera shooting a 3:2 or a 4:3 picture will result in you capturing a good looking picture for your frame.

Incidentally, the frame does not stretch pictures into the 16:9 format. So for those of you concerned that this picture frame is going to add 20 pounds to the subjects in your photographs, it doesn't stretch your shots.

The solution for me will be to use the 16:9 setting on the new Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ5 camera I also bought at Best Buy. Pictures taken in this screen format work perfectly, and are edge to edge on the digital frame. I can also use photoshop to put a little white space (or more appropriately black space) into my 4:3 or 3:2 aspect ratio pictures if a few of them bother me when they are displayed in the frame.

I will say that most of the horizontal pictures taken with the 4:3 or 3:2 aspect ratio looked just fine in the photo frame. So making any adjustments will not be needed for most pictures uploaded to t
