"I was using an old Nokia flatscreen from 2001...so anything new would have been impressive, but our family is amazed by the clarity and detail of the monitor. We bought at BB bundled with the Dell Studio pc for ability to burn digital movies (bought digital movie camera..then found old PC couldnt handle it...so had to spend another grand on a new one!). The Dell monitor was out of stock, so BB said pick one off the shelf (any brand) for same cost ($249.99 as of 12/20) to swap for the bundle. Didn't have any time to research...so pressure was on! I saw this one and it stood out, price was right..so I picked it. Asked the BB guy if it compared to the Dell 22" and he laughed...and said it blows the doors off of it. I went home, set it all up and looked up the reviews. All positive and the minute you turn this on, it grabs you. So much to visually take in. For the pricepoint, the value is outstanding. I'm happy...now I just have to get some Stevie Wonder glasses since the screen is so big and bright! It may also cost me $16k more, because wife says its too nice to be in kitchen...so she wants to build out a home office to put it into. To think, this all started because I bought a $500 digital video camera...if you need a monitor...feel great about getting this one..friends who mocked my old stuff...now give me props for not only catching up...but for getting the goods at a great price! Thanks BB!"

"I love LG phones, and thought I would enjoy a monitor with such great specs. Unfortunately it had a pixel that would rotate -red, green, blue- continuously, straight out of the box. The rest of the monitor was fine with a brilliant picture, and Im sure that the vast majority of this model is just fine. Mine, however, was not. I replaced the monitor with the 25" hannespree. its 3000:1, but it has a anti-glare screen (the lg is glossy) and HDMI inputs (lg does not)"

"In researching before buying, I was torn between SAMSUNG and LG. Wanted a speaker and the SAMSUNG with the built-in speaker sounded great but, after reading how terrible the built-in speakers were, I decided against it and went with the LG instead. Best decision I could have made. The color quality is excellent, couldn't be better, even without a DVI cable, which was the main complaint of most reviewers saying that they had to purchase it separately since it wasn't included. I bought one and had to return it since I didn't have a plugin in my computer for it and am amazed at the color brightness and clarity. All I can say is WOW and am very pleased with my purchase. Hope this helps you with your decision."

"I bought a 19" hanspree monitor and had to return it the next day because of a pixel problem. i decided to bite the bullet and spend the extra money on the LG and it is totally worth it. It was simple to set up and the picture quality is amazing. The base both rotates and the screen tilts. Great product and the price isn't bad for what you are getting!"

"I'm on my second Flatron L227WTG monitor in as many months and for the second time the on/off button has stopped functioning. This has the net effect of rendering the product useless. BestBuy was great in resolving the first product failure in swapping out my old monitor (had it less than 30 days) for this new one, however, in less than 30 days this one ceased working also. Time for another brand."

"I am so glad I checked alot of reviews before my monitor purchase! Alot of other monitors had either 1 or 2 issues, location of the menu functions, and the worst was dead pixels. One review had mentioned that Best Buy geek squad would pixel check your monitor before you leaving the store, and I found that as good advise and did with this monitor even though reviews on LG monitors had the least reports of this problem compared to the other brand name manufactures. They were more than happy to do that for me and was suprised I asked them to. Not one bad pixel in the box! The other issue the others complained about this monitor was it did not have a DVI-D cable, I think for the quality of this monitor, they should be more than happy for a cable not being included in the box, a 6 foot cable was only $20 anyway! The test I put this through was gaming, Crysis is awsome on this monitor and I am going to try Call of duty 4 next on it, it also helps to have a home built computer like I have, (XFX MoBo and Nvidia 9600 OC Graphics card). This is The best monitor for your money! Don't forget top have the Geek Squad pour out the pixels and count them on the counter top before you leave the store! LOL!"

"A very impressive image. If you can deal with the glossy screen you will be rewarded with what is probably the best image currently available on an lcd monitor. Take a long look when comparing displays and you will no doubt come to the same conclusion. The image pops right off of the screen. Having said that, the monitor is not without its minor shortcomings. Firstly the stand, no height adjustment and very little tilt in the down direction. As an observation, the look of the stand does not match the look of the monitor. The monitor is angular and the round stand looks like an afterthought. The stand is the reason for 4 stars on the design. Secondly, and this is only because the monitor this replaced had it, a usb hub would be appreciated. Thus the reason for 4 stars on features. In the end niether of these nit picking items kept me from buying this unbelievable display."

What's great about it: Beautiful picture, no dead pixels, excellent contrast and colors, HUGE display area, no ghosting or banding. What's not so great: Minimal setup instructions in packaging, hard to tilt display, no included DVI cable.
"I've had this display for a week now and I do not regret this purchase decision at all! This is my first LCD display after many years of only CRT monitors. I had all the usual fears that come with LCD's: dead pixels, ghosting, color banding, poor colors, etc. This LG display has made me a believer in LCD technology!
Movies look great whether they are on DVD, local copy of a movie file, or streaming content such as some of the HD streams from the Olympics. Color and detail on high res images are great as well. After enabling Clear Type text has been crisp. The included Forte Manager software is great at getting the display calibrated. About the only thing I have not thrown at the display yet is games but I'm not a big gamer anymore so that wouldn't be an issue for me anyway.
My only complaints are the lack of detailed setup information in the box. I'm a geek and pretty handy mechanically so I figured setting up the base and such on my own however I can imagine some folks having issues with this. The other complaint is that it is really difficult to tilt the display up or down.
Overall I do not regret this purchase and have already recommended it to a few friends who are looking to update their displays."

"I have owned many monitors and this one is the best overall . I had to tone down the brightness as it was burning my retinas. Even at the brightest level the display still looks good (i.e. not washed out or over saturated). The backlighting is even without any noticeable bleeding. The Dell 22 that this replaced looked washed out and color less by comparison. The only improvement I can think of would be to include an adjustable stand but the omission is understandable at this price point. Well done LG."

"I've tested many monitors and none are as clear and perfect as this one. Definitely worth buying if your planning on using it work for incredible quality in the video and graphics dept. If you have above lighting on your ceiling then this is perfect, because the antiglare coating does a great job not reflecting off the glossy screen. If I had to grade it on a scale from 1 to 10, then this would be a 10!"

"This is by far one of the best on the market for the cost. LG also makes one in the matted, which will reduce the glare, but even this monitor having the gloss finish it still provides a better picture in my eyes. I had both to choose from when I went to BestBuy and the one that looked best was the gloss finish, as the picture looks like it jumping out to you. This monitor is the gloss finish that provides a little glare; however, it is nothing like other models as they provided a antiglare screen to help combat this. I recommend it... 2 Big thumbs up.!!!"

"I've always had high dollar LCD monitors (NEC's) for home use. I decided to make the move from my 5 year old NEC 17" to a 22" but couldn't decide on which brand. We have LG electronics throughout our entire house and just love the brand hands down so I thought--why not, lets give LG a chance on the monitor side of the game. This monitor looks awesome compared to the current models out appearance wise. Contrast ratio is unbelievable, I have virtually no backlight bleed unless the monitor is going into standby and even then it's very minimal. The gloss finish on the screen makes EVERYTHING POP, just an unbelievable monitor. Sure you can buy other 22"s for a lot cheaper but nothing will compare in quality. If you've been thinking about this monitor-stop thinking and just go to the store and pick it up-you won't be disappointed!!!"

"Overall, a great monitor for the money, but a few caveats: The piece of hardware itself is great; everything else in the box (or missing from it) is a headache. Add $20-30 to the price tag for a digital cable. It only comes with analog, and if you want a 22" LCD, you want DVI My ezZooming button is totally non-functional, making the reverse letter-boxing feature (4:3 aspect ratio) inaccessible."

"Used a laptop for years and decided to get a gaming desktop. Found my desktop, but didn't come with a monitor. After being advised to get the 22" Samsung, i compared at the store. The color seemed to pop more on this model than the Samsung. The LG has a glossy screen which just felt better than the Samsung, BUT if your using your computer in a bright spot the samsung might be for you as the LG reflected mirrorlike in the store with the bright lighting. If you using your computer in a room with few windows or bright lights, I HIGHLY recommend this product."
