There are so many things wrong with this all-in-one that I don't know where to start. Mine is only about 6 months old. Temperamental... lights flash saying to turn off then on again.... over and over and over. I followed the steps on website support, no good... called support, spent alot of time on the phone with someone I could barely understand (she couldn't understand me either) and was eventually told that she could not help me anyway. The print quality was okay the few times it did work, I cannot use it at all now. I'll never buy HP again.
What's great about it: Print quality is okay (when it works)
What's not so great: When it works, it is noisy, temperamental, expensive goes through ink like crazy $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I decided to purchase an advertised HP Premium AIO, which is on sale this week, and I went to the store to purchase it. However, once I got to the store I noticed this L7590 on sale for over 50 percent off at $149.99, an unadvertised special. Since I already have an excellent photo printer, an HP D7360 (which I love) and a wireless N router, I decided to give the L7590 a look. I purchased the L7590 instead of the Premium because it fit in better with what I needed and it was a lot cheaper than the Premium.
This unit is big, well built, and very nice to look at. The software and setup was very easy and went without any problems on our desktop computer running Vista 64. However, we are running Windows 7 Beta on our laptop and the software would not install with either the Vista or the XP disks and we kept getting an error message, “wrong operating system.” I am not sure if this is a Windows problem because version 7 runs all Vista operations, or if it is an HP install problem. Anyway, I manually added the printer on our laptop and version 7 located and set it up easily and wirelessly.
I am really enjoying this L7590 being wireless (on my N router), scanning, ADF, faxing, and excellent documentation printing. Our HP Photosmart D7360 is a photo printer, so it obviously prints photo’s a lot better and faster than this Officejet, but the Photosmart will not print documentation nearly as well. This Officejet is the exact opposite of the Photosmart and can print photo’s, but not as nice or as fast, and it prints documentation better are faster. Will the L7590 print really nice photo’s? Yes. Will the photo’s it prints be as nice as our Photosmart D7260? No. But, the document printing is as close to laser as you can get and it is advertised to be 50 percent cheaper than laser printing. Also, this printer has large ink cartridges that print 900 pages per cartridge regular size and 1700 pages in XL size, and the value pack costs the same as other HP value packs, and this makes this a very nice deal. Also, you can even replace the ink heads if you need to and not have to purchase a new unit.
In the end, I highly recommend this HP L7590. Everything it does as an AIO is excellent. The photo’s are very good, not photosmart excellent, but very good.
What's great about it: Honestly, everything

Don’t buy this printer because the network software doesn’t work!!! Got it on sale for $150.00, super price. When it works it does print fast and the duplexer works very well. The 4 different color cartridges should be easy to replace when needed. Software on the included CD was out of date. No big deal, it was easy to find and download the current version from HP’s site. Scanner worked the first day as did all the other features. Then the computer starts having problems shutting down about every other day. Two weeks later I can’t get the computer to find the printer so you can’t scan or print. Four hours on the phone with HP tech support and 5 remove and re-installs of the software later everything is working again. One time issue I thought. A week later the HP scanner software can’t find the all in one. HP tech support is quicker this time, only 2.5 hours on the phone to remove/re-install the software. Good thing I know what to do because this tech don’t speak English very well at all. The next day it won’t work again. Tried loading the full version software on a different computer but the HP software wants 99% of the CPU resources for hours after start-up so I have to remove it completely. Another 2 hours on the phone with HP today trying to get them to return the printer to them because I’m past the 30 limit for Best Buy. Nobody speaks English so Ihave to ask for almost everything to be repeated, and repeated. Now I can’t even print to it and am waiting for the account manager to call on Monday.
What's great about it: Prints fast when it prints
What's not so great: HP sftware t use it over a network

Did a lot of research on what printer would save me most money, and this one has already saved me a ton, 150. Plus all the ink for this printer cost about 50 bucks.
What's great about it: This printer will save you a ton of money in the long run for Ink cost. Also, Prints documents fast too.
What's not so great: ...Just noisy, but I can live with it.

Out of the box this all in one worked to perfection. Easy setup and really user friendly. Replaces a Lexmark that was so loud when starting a print function you thought it was going to explode.
Software loaded correctly first time and was ready to use in about 30 minutes. I caught it on sale at Best Buy for $149.00 and looked right before writing this review and it was listed at $404.95 with a sale price of $364.00.
I feel like I stole this one!!!! Really if you want a great all in one this is it. You won't be disapointed. I use this for a small business and it doe's everything I need it to do and more.
What's great about it: Can't say enough good things about this one
What's not so great: speed could be just a little faster

My HP Officejet Pro L7590 AIO worked fine for the four months I used it with a Dell computer running XP Pro. When I switched to an HP Slimline computer with VISTA 64 the printer stopped functioning. I spent 12 (that's TWELVE) hours with 3 different HP support techs having remote control of my computer and they made NO progress in fixing the problem. The problem is that it now prints documents incompletely and it prints up to a dozen extra pages with garbage symbols at the top of each page. HP has not taken responsibility for the problem and not been able to fix it. Moral: stick with Dell!
What's great about it: When it worked, it printed fine
What's not so great: It will NOT work with HP computer &/or VISTA 32 OR 64

My problems have, so far, all been with software. The software did not want to install correctly at first. Once installed, my computer ran too slowly to be useful, so I uninstalled everything but the basic 4-in-1 drivers.
After much research, I found out what the problem was: the software does not allow for setting thw workgroup of the printer. The printer workgroup defaults to "WORKGROUP", while my system was using "MSHOME". HP support advised me to change my home workgroup to a domain. I have an MCSE, and I know this is NOT a good idea, so I changed my home wokgroup to "WORKGROUP". The speed issues went away. Still, I consider not being able to name the workgroup of the printer to be a defect in the software design.
What's great about it: Great price, great features
What's not so great: Terrible software and software support.

Setting it up everything worked fine, no problems. Fax was very easy to set up. A little slow on the printing for me. Sometimes would have hangups and dont know why. The top paper feeder would jam if you didnt have the side holders exactly touching the paper, so dont even try copying two different sizes at once. I tried to print business cards on stock, no problem. Then the problem arose. It will not go back to picking up regular paper. Kept getting error message, out of paper. Funny thing was it would print fax reports and self diagnostic tests from the unit itself with no problem. Then I would go to print a document from my computer and get "Out of paper" error message again. 2 hours on the phone with technical support could not fix it. I only had it for one month so good thing its under warranty and they are sending me an upgraded model 7680. I am crossing my fingers that one is much better.

I like this printer. It replaces an old K80xi all in one and this one is light years better in performance and capabilities. I have not seen any excess ink usage ( as some complain about with other HP units) and am still on the original cartridges for almost 2 months now. Used in a SOHO so moderate printing and not large jobs. Copier works good. Double sided feature is very nice to have and hasnt failed on me at all yet. Took about 10 mins to set up as ethernet printer and installed software on PC, although Im not happy of some of the 'mystery files' that HP bundles in with their install media... so far no complaints yet, but Im not sure Ive discovered all the files that were installed. This printer is supporting 5 networked PCs and it was discovered correctly first time for each of the PCs. Overall, I would buy this unit again given the same choices out there.
What's great about it: high speed printing, lots of features, extensive menu setups, error free setup first time out of the box
What's not so great: noisy but I have gotten used to it after a while and not an annoyance any more.

I've never had much luck with printers - they seem to die within a year. This is my first HP and I've had it for about two months now with no problems, other than not very good quality yet on photos. There is really no info. on how to load photo paper. Tech support was absolutely no help. So long as I stick to using the printer for everything else - I love it. I can ignore the noise.
Give it 3 years and then we'll talk!
What's great about it: sharp copies, multiple features
What's not so great: very large, loud, initial ink takes 20 min to charge, problems with printing on photo paper

Consumer Reports doesn't rate this new model, but does rate the older 7580. Assuming that the discontinued 7580 is truly as bad as most of the other CR reviewers suggest, I would have to conclude that HP has gotten its act together with the 7590. The setup is a detailed and time-consuming project - it took me almost two hours. But, I was setting up all four functions, and linking the 7590 to a home wireless network so it would work wirelessly on remote computers, and via USB cable on the main desktop. Punchline: everything worked the first time and worked flawlessly. The machine is a little large and a little noisey. You wouldn't want it near a nursery, but given the noises in a typcial home office, I don't find the operating noise levels objectionable. The printing speed is superlative and the print quality for text is excellent - coming close to rivaling the old IBM Selectric typewriters. Photo quality is very good for pictures to grandma, but certainly not for critical keepsake photos. The photocopies are hard to distinguish from the originals. The fax integrates easily on a single home telephone line with an answering machine. The scanner is quick and captures detail nicely. The machine came with separate software disks for Vista, XP, and Mac; I installed on three Vista computers without a glitch. I was nervous about this purchase given all the negative reviews of the 7580, so I bought it from Best Buy in case I needed to do a return. But, so far so good. I am extremely pleased with the features for price aspect of this machine. If you have a small home-based business, I can't imagine you could find a better 4-in-1 machine.
What's great about it: Fast, Great Print Quality, Excellent Price for the Features
What's not so great: Large footprint; a bit noisey

We got two of these printers - one hooked up USB (shared) to PC and other setup as network printer. Both installed as advertised very easily. LOVE the scan two side/print two side (or any combination of one- or two-sided scan/print options). Have not used as a fax as we really don't need the feature but took it as we wouldn't find the value without it - it is there should we ever need it! It IS just a tad noisy but, for the price, we can surely put up with it! Haven't yet tried to print photos from card reader/USB but assume it works as good as the rest of the functions! Great value for what you get!
What's great about it: Price vs value, Spped vs. print qulaity...
What's not so great: Is just a TAD on the noisy side!

I've been a HP person since the start, and this is truly a lovely little all-in-one, I would have easily paid $50 + for this unit. It performed all functions right out of the box after a simple, timely set up.
You can walk away from this unit while processing a job and not fear that something just has to go wrong. This is most impressive to me, alows me to get other work done at the same time.
This is truly a fine little all-in-one with pleanty of bells and whistles usually found only on the pricier models.
If you need a good, mid-size all-in one, it's worth your IT investment dollar. HP has really went over the top with the L7590.
What's great about it: Setup was easy and under one hour; all aspects worked first time without a hitch; well worth the small price.
What's not so great: NONE!!!, yes that's right NONE!!!
