What's great about it: Ease of use, great quality, bang for the buck
"I've owned, HP, Sony and Olympus cameras, and although they were all great, the Canon SD series is awesome! Easy to use, great screen, downloading pics to a PC is super easy, the menu is intuitive... the best I've seen out there. The video quality is pretty good, the battery lasts a long time. My 8 and 4 year old kids uses the camera all the time as well. I'll often start it up and see videos they've directed and produced with their cousins, music videos with their dolls, and pictures of everything from animals to flowers. Did I say Great Bang for the Buck?"

"Quite a good camera. On the screen the pictures look sharp & good but when you print them they don't come out as clear. The 6.0 mega pixels print even better. Otherwise the features are very good."

"This is a good all around camera for social use and travel. If you are interested in serious photography, then go with a digital SLR, but if you want something that fits in your pocket and is good for snapshots of your friends and your trips, this is a good choice."

"I love this camera. This is my second digital camera (my first was a Kodak EasyShare) and I love it much better than my first. I have had it for over a year, and the battery still works great. I rarely have to charge it. Also the quality of the pictures are phenomenal. My boyfriend bought one for his best friend and mom as well because I liked mine so much. It's small and durable. I carry it in my purse (which I drop and do God knows what else with), and it is still in great shape."

What's great about it: I love the black and white but picking one color feature..and over all it takes very nice pictures.
What's not so great: The only bad thing I have found so far would be the battery is a special battery and costs a lot to get an extra.
"I really do love my camera. I also like having the accidental damage insurance because I feel more secure in using it all the time. The camera takes excellent pictures and I have only had a few blurry, which is most likely my fault for not having it on the right setting for the type of picture I was taking. The only bad thing is the battery. I did not pay attention to what kind of a battery it takes and I would much rather have it taking AA then a special battery because you can get AA pretty much anywhere. Also it costs a lot to get an extra of this battery. This is the only disadvantage I have found."

"This was definitely worth the $250 price tag. Besides the great battery life; this camera takes sharp and high resolution images and is easy to use. The mode button gives you the option to have automatic settings or manual if you choose to be creative with your pictures. The only down fall I found on this camera was that the optical image stabilization wasn't that great. Attempts to move around and shoot ended up in blurry images."

Excellent pocket camera

What's great about it: Great color, IS, face detection, size, fun extras
What's not so great: Slow startup and 1st shot, lag between shots
"Great little pocket camera. Had it with me on a recent trip to Chicago, didn't have my SLR with me. I took a couple architectural tours, one during noon and a very sunny day from the water. I had nothing to prevent direct sunlight from hitting the camera and expected completely washed out shots, I was mistaken. The shots turned out great considering the light.
I love the size of this little bad boy, I wanted something to take with me I could pop in my front pocket. It is perfect, face detection rocks since I am obviously using this mostly for candids with the dSLR doing the landscapes and fancier shots.
It has some fun extra shot options that are fun to play with like color acquire, grabbing 1 to 4 colors you select and shooting the rest in black and white. It also can be set to do this shot and regular color settings with the same shot. Nice.
My only complaint is mild noise in low light and its slowness between shots and after startup. Low light noise is definitely expected for a camera this size, a lens this small just isn't pulling in great light when low. And speed, I saw some other small cameras were faster, but the color clarity and great shots were just too good from the Canon."

"Prior to this camera, we had a bulky Fuji digital camera. That was a nice camera, but with our young family, it was never easy to carry that camera with us to catch those special family moments. This Canon fits perfectly in a pocket and can be put to use at a moments notice to catch the little ones either doing something really cute or really bad."
