What's great about it: It's fine when it works
What's not so great: So expenive if it breaks, no customer service from Toshiba
"I purchased a Toshiba and it broke in less than 2 years. It comes with a 1 year warranty so I was stuck with the cost for repair. Total parts & Labor was $700.00. I could buy a new T.V. for that. I contacted Toshiba asking them for some help. They said there is nothing and I repeat, nothing they could do for me. If you buy a Toshiba, you better buy an extended warranty with it. If not you’ll be like me. Stuck with paying $700.00 to repair a $1,200. TV. I made several request with Toshiba to sell me parts I needed at a discounted price. They just kept replying to my request the same. “I’m sorry there is nothing we can do for you.” I got so sick of getting the same response from everyone I spoke to at Toshiba. Buyers beware!"

What's great about it: Mostly simple set up, compact size.
"Setup was pretty simple - but if you're using the table stand, don't be afraid to pull harder than it seems like you should - I was worried about pulling to hard and getting frustrated that nothing was happening (and there's nothing in the manual or the Toshiba site that indicates this). Pull harder than you think you need too and it'll turn the way it should for the table stand to work."

What's great about it: the picture is so crisp clear sharp warm and natural like . I love it!
What's not so great: it was perfect, no complaints at all.

What's great about it: The Picture is great.
What's not so great: The sound quality totally sucks!
"We purchased this TV a few months ago for our kitchen wall. The picture is clear and crisp. I like the feature to adjust the picture type from sports to movies, etc. The sound quality however is horrible. During Xmas dinner I turned the volume up to hear a show over the many conversations going on in the kitchen. To my surprise the TV sound began to crack horribly. I expect to have to send it in for repair before the manufacture's warranty expires. Overall, the television is a good product for the money."

Sound is Terrible

What's great about it: Seems solidly built, decent inputs
What's not so great: Picture, Sound
"Returned this television about 30 minutes of use. Right side speaker was blown out ( what it sounded like) buzzed, crackled, was horrible. Left side seemed ok.... Might have kept it, if it had a headphone jack to plug it into an inexpensive computer sound system...but it doesn't. Also no standard audio out, just digital/optical.
Picture was marginal, dark, and with strange color sturation, factory default video settings had contrast at 90%, everything else at 50%, no amount of adjusting helped. "HD" resolution looked iffy, looked more like 480 than 720. Standard video was marginal.
Avoid this one. I returned it for a 22" Samsung that I am quite happy with."

No headphone jack

What's not so great: no headphone jack
"We bought it and took it home without realizing that there is no headphone jack. We will be taking it back on Monday. With a headphone jack you can hook up a pair of cheap computer speakers to a TV and get great sound (well, great enough for me anyhow). this has a dolby jack in the back, but nothing I own has that kind of plug. I have no idea what the rest of the TV is like because we didn't bother to turn it on."

What's great about it: Price Vs. Value
What's not so great: Sound Quality
"Got it on sale last week. Very happy with the picture. I'm using it in the bedroom right now with rabbit ears and the only reception problems are related to the antenna. I'll upgrade that soon. Sound quality was not good through the internal speakers, but I bought a cheap ($10.00) set of external speakers (made for PC's) and now am thrilled with the sound. I'd highly recommend this as a "Best Buy"."

What's great about it: Picture was really nice. Lots of ways to "tweek" the picture. Plenty of inputs.
What's not so great: sound quality
"I purchased this tv as a gift for my wife to be used in our bedroom. The picture was nice and it had plenty of inputs. I really liked everything about the tv except the audio quality. If the volume was above 30% the speakers would rattle the casing making an awful feedback sound. Also, even at low volumes if the right pitch came across, the speakers would rattle and shake the casing."

Sturdy Stand

"I bought this tv mainly because it had the most sturdy stand of all the other tv's on display. I am not that educated on the new tv's and am having trouble understanding the manual. I can't tell you much about the tv because I have yet to get anything to work. I can not get the dvd player to work with the tv. Maybe someone can help me. I have just an indoor antenna and I bought a Phillips DVD player. Which I will be returning because it will not work with the Toshiba Remote. I need a dvd player that the tv rmote will except."

"I GOT ME ONE TODAY. UNFORTUNATELY I WILL EXCHANGE IT TOMORROW
BECAUSE OF A DEAD PIXEL. I AM NOT HOLDING THIS AGAINST THE BRAND; BUT AGAINST THE QUALITY CONTROL PEOPLE AT THE FACTORY.LOUSY QUALITY CONTROL.
I AM USING IT IN MY KITCHEN WITH A $ 9.99 RABIT EARS AND PICTURE EVEN WITH THE DEAD PIXEL IS VERY GOOD.
I HAD TO RE-SCAN FOR DIGITAL STATIONS COUPLE OF TIMES UNTIL
THE TV FINALLY MEMORIZED THEM ALL.
THE SOUND QUALITY; AGAIN; IS JUST ACCEPTABLE.COULD BE BETTER
FOR SURE"

What's great about it: Great Picture and sound plus very easy set up
What's not so great: changing the channel does take some time which i found a little annoying but not that bad
"overall great tv for the price the picture is excellent and so is the sound. Ive read a lot of reviews where people have said the sound is bad and i have no idea what they mean by that i mean honestly how great do you want the sound to be on a 19in tv. the sound is perfectly fine. this is a great tv and you cannot beat the price"

"Just purchased -
Took only a few minutes to set up, and a few minutes to figure out the remote. It took longer to get to the store and back than to set this up.
After that... GREAT.
Sound is good, picture on NON-HD is good - well worth the 250 dollars!!!
The size, picture and sound are really good for a bedroom or small office."

What's great about it: Easy to use, nice price
"I purchased this set as my 3rd LCD TV for use in my kitchen which this set I wall mounted (first one of the 3). After much research online and in store I thought for the price range it had the nicest picture and felt comfortable with the Toshiba name. I have had no issues with picture quality and/or sound. Yes the sound is a little on the bright side but considering the size of TV I do not expect it to have thunderous bass. There is some adjustments that can be made if the user wants to spend time making those sound adjustments. Even though this TV is being used as in my kitchen primarly on Football Sundays while entertaining I turn this set on every mornng and night while preparing food, etc. I would have no problem using this set in any bedroom, den or where ever I need a set in the future."

"This TV is ok I mainly use it as a computer Monitor in my bedroom and to avoid having a TV and a Computer Monitor I chose to use this unit, but I wouldnt recomended as a TV because the picture tends to dim the sound isnt the greatest. Also HD channels dont look HD(720p) they look more like SD(480p) I think its do to the low quality reciever built-in the unit. So I recommend this unit for TV viewing NO but as a monitor YES or in my situation a both YES."

Quality TV, only Minor Issues

What's great about it: Picture, Sound, Price, Remote
What's not so great: Mute, Channel Selection Speed
"I bought this TV at Best Buy about a week ago. The picture is fine, I've noticed no sound problems, and the remote control is very well organized. Note that this TV has a 16:9 Aspect Ratio, which is the *correct* aspect ratio for both DVDs and Gaming. Some less expensive TVs use a 16:10 ratio, which can cause some "stretching" of the picture.
I have had 2 minor issues: The mute button requires 2 presses to mute the TV (the first press is a "1/2 mute" that only reduces volume). When I want the TV muted, I want it muted asap, so this is an annoyance. The other issue is that channel recognition seems to take about a second, which is a little slow.
I should note that a competitor had this TV on sale, and Best Buy agreed to do price matching, so I walked out as a happy customer."

What's not so great: dark picture
"picture is very dark. even when adjusted, the best you can get is either a dark picture, or a washed-out picture.
the so-called "dynamic contrast" only makes the picture unstable - visible contrast changes flicker from one setting to another with every scene change. must be turned off, making the picture worse.
Channels changes are slow - 1 sec or more, depending on the channel.
Manual adjustment for channel setting is cumbersome.
For $300, I at least expect this to act as a decent TV, with a good picture!"

"I got this tv a week ago and i love it! I was looking for a relatively cheap and quality tv for a college kids budget. I found it with this toshiba. Its Great for xbox360 or any gaming for that matter. There are plenty of different connections( HDMI, COMPONENT, Svideo, VGA) The picture i was really impressed with. Sound could be better but i am not complaining. It s a great TV for mounting. Wonderful product!!!"

What's great about it: Excellent ATSC Tuner reception, 1/2 mute function for commercials
What's not so great: Audio is just a touch flat
"Great picture size (stretch) modes, fast tuner (for changing over-the-air stations), signal meter is handy and it has a SUPER remote. Plenty of jacks with shiny and sturdy bezel and stand. Audio could have a touch more range (plenty of volume though), but hey, its a 19" TV. 1/2 mute is awesome to tame loud commercials volume or to answer the phone. Using as a kitchen TV (utilizing ATSC tuner and 55' HDMI connection for satellite TV) with two months use so far..."
