What's great about it: great picture, no functioning problems, good price
What's not so great: sound is not so great
"I bought this tv as my first HDTV and I love it, it has the best picture, true it is not as clear as a plasma or LCD but for the size it is a tiny fraction of the price, a 56 plasma is 5 grand. I got this set on sale for $999.99 and then got the floor model because there were none is stock so I really paid $850.00. With HD service from comcast this tv looks awesome on any HD channel. THe sound is not so great but get surround sound and its a quick fix HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!"

Amazing TV

What's great about it: Our of this world price at $999.99, Picture quality is great, lots of hook-ups
What's not so great: Nothing
"I was dead set on nothing up a flat panel lcd until i walked by this tv. The picture is just as good and for the price you can get a much larger tv than lcd. I was comparable in price to an off brand 42" lcd vs. a samsung 56". To make it better it was the deal of the day so I got it cheaper yet. All the hook ups you'll need, easy set-up, picture quality is amazing, and sound is great. I even picked up the display model that was on display for for many months they said (meaning probably longer) still looks amazing so don;t be afraid of bulbs or anything. Everyone that enters my living room has been blown away, even my friends with 52" lcds. Great tv!"

Looks Good, Sounds Bad
12/21/2008

What's great about it: Good price for a big screen
What's not so great: It has the audio power of a 19 inch TV
"I had a 55" Sony LCD 720p that had an engine light and a b-board go bad on it a few months before my 4 year extended warrany expired. Best Buy preferred to give me this TV instead of repairing mine. The first one they gave me lasted 5 minutes before it shut off on it's own and remained completely unresponsive. The second one has worked well so far. The switch from my Sony to this one has caused some audio shock to my ears however. This Samsung has a sleeker look to it by not having any large visible speakers like my old Sony, which had an impressive audio quality to it. So this Samsung looks good, but sounds weak. So all I had to do though was buy some audio cables and hook it up throogh by stereo."

What's great about it: Very easy to set up - 5 minutes we were watching TV -
What's not so great: Not sure - Yet
"I have been looking for a TV for several years - waiting for the right price and I got it. I got a very good price on the internet - was a little hesitant buying over internet - but went very smoothly. I have had my TV 30 days, will be hooked up to HD Cable tomorrow - just in time for the bowl games - Go HUSKERS!"

Great Picture, Some Bowing :-(

What's great about it: The picture quality is outstanding from a decent source
What's not so great: If you have bowing there is no fix, except a new light engine
"I have had 3 DLP sets from Samsung, starting with a 44" the year DLP was introduced, Moved to a 50" 2 years later and am now enjoying my 56". This unit has by far the best PQ of all the sets and has significantly less rainbow effect than my previous sets. I have an all HD setup for this TV, HD DVR from Comcast and a BPD-S350 Blu-ray player from Sony. When displaying HD this unit is outstanding, When displaying stndard 4x3 on say foxnews or something, the display is just satisfactory with slight bowing of the fram at the bottom. I measured this at 5mm. Their is no pincusion adjustment in the setup so there is now fix. The factory speakers leave something to be desired, (in other words, they are garbage). However as with any HD display, a home theatre system is a must. Sound is just as important to watching as the picture quality. Don't skimp."

Perfect choice!

What's great about it: outstanding picture, easy to use, pleny of hook ups
What's not so great: nothing so far
"I did a ton of research, I mean a TON. This tv is very slim and I was originally looking at the plasma's and lcd's because of the wall hanging ability. I have the TV in a corner and due to how its made, you wouldnt know that it wasnt a flat panel. The picture is great even in SD and amazing elsewise. Every one I talked said that DLP was the way to go as long as you have no issues with side angles. Its easier and cheaper to fix if that arrises, but with the 4 yr warranty plan that shouldnt be an issue for a while. I LOVE it and definately reccommend this tv to the price conscientious buyer."

What's great about it: Awesome on sale price of $999.99!
What's not so great: warm up screen
"My husband and I bought this TV last weekend and it has been incredible. We have our desktop, xbox 360, wii, and dvd player all connected to this and it runs great. Sometimes when switching back sources on our other LCD tv the screen gets static and you have to unplug the tv and wait 10 sec. This was an awesome buy cause it was only $999. Also, you can upgrade the tv if you hook it to the internet. This has been a wise choice for us and hope you decide what is best for you and your tastes."

Incredible buy.

What's great about it: Picture quality is incredible, even at angles for a DLP, # of inputs is great, size & weight is perfect for corners, etc
What's not so great: Sound could be slightly better, but who wants a big TV without surround sound? problem solved.
"I bought this tv about 2 monthes ago & love everything about it. Picture quality is amazing in HD, SD picture is still very good considering the size of this TV. I was criticized by a lot of friends who are WOWed by the slimness of LCD's & Plasmas for wanting a DLP. After seeing this DLP compared two their much smaller, more expensive LCD flat panels & Plasmas I wouldnt trade it for any of them. The picture is just as good, only much larger & at half the cost of many flat panels out there the 14" depth of this TV suits me fine."

SAMSUNG 56" DLP is a must have!

What's great about it: Everything about this TV is simple. The picture is spectacular and its features are impressive.
What's not so great: Couldn't tell you.
"This TV is an amazing buy. Not just for the price but for its picture quality, its weight and dimensions, its input connections and finally its ease of use in menu navigations. Do some shopping around and you'll find that Samsung makes one of the best TV's there is. Sure it may not be 2 inches thick but it's still wall mountable and and only weighs about 60 lbs. You can't buy a better 56" TV in either LCD, PLASMA or DLP for this price either. It's a win win buy!"

What's great about it: Excellent Picture, Great Price
What's not so great: Sound
"Ive owned this Samsung TV for about 3 months now and WOW!! The Picture quality is amazing, Blu ray looks outstanding. This TV is a steal for the price and not to mention Samsung is still delivering Fantastic new DLP technology. The only negative thing is what other reviewers have said which is the sound is horrible but if you already have a home theater setup than your good to go. I would Highly recommend this TV to anyone!!!!"

What's great about it: The Picture
What's not so great: The sound/speakers
"This is the best picture of any TV in its class, but the internal sound is horrible. Once you have it hooked up to an external sound system is sounds great. The inputs and outputs allow me to integrate my computer, components and show slides/music from a USB flash drive."

What's great about it: Awesome picture, Awesome price..
What's not so great: None
"Had this TV for about 6 months and it is awesome. The picture is crystal clear in high def, I hooked it up to Direct TV high def box and the picture is amazing. Didn't know much about DLP's compared to Plasma and LCD. Now I do, for the price of and equilvilent size plasma or LCD you cant beat it. Cant wait to buy a Blue-Ray to really make it stand out."
