What's great about it: Nothing beyond 2008s upgrades that I can tell.
What's not so great: Price, lack of some places which have been around for more than a year, and some perplexing directions

"I think the person who reviewed this product above only wrote it for the review perks given by best buy. Either that or they have only had the maps for a week and haven't ran into any problems yet. Here are some gripes I have with this map update.

1) It's called Map Update 2009, yet it was available before July of 2008 and possibly sooner. That means it is using data that is at LEAST 6 months pre-mature to its title.

2) They are making people pay at least $60 for this update. It came out less than a year after the 2008 map updates came out which also cost $60+. Unless these are a major reformat (which they don't appear to be), I don't understand why they cost so much to get these updates.

3) Some places, which are not new by any means, are not included on this version. I tried to find my way to a high school which was built in 1998 and this map did not have it in its list of schools. So I tried to input the actual address of the school and the street was not recognized, thus I couldn't even find the school that way. Seriously? A ten-year-old school (eleven years old if you go by the year this update claims to be) isn't in the database?

4) Sometimes the maps take me around a block and then back onto the road I am currently on while giving me directions. Luckily I will catch it early and see the red directional route early on my screen and skip those useless directions. Does Garmin own stock in Exxon?

Feel free to purchase this, but it seems to be a waste of money with no real progress. The only reason I gave it a 5 for ease of use is because it's easy to install the update onto my streetpilot."
