What's great about it: Tiny! No plugging into the wall, no chunky box. Great for Travel!
What's not so great: Sometimes I wish the USB cord, was just a bit longer, but really its fine.

"I love this little thing. I was looking for a large portable hard drive to take with me on an around the world trip so that I could back up my laptop throughout my trip. This thing is perfect for that. It syncs perfectly with Time Machine on my MacBook Pro."

What's great about it: lightweight, inexpensive for the size, portable
What's not so great: short cord, doesn't work with all monitor usb ports

"Overall good portable hard drive for the price. No problems so far and I have added about 100Gb of data. Slow transfer of data but running documents off the drive not a problem."

What's great about it: Easy Setup, Space Saver
What's not so great: WD Webpage Support Less than satisfiable.

"This product is extremely easy to use and set up. With A USB 2.0 Interface it is compatible with multiple computers. It takes up hardly any space what so ever. It is about the size of a Paperback book. Which Makes it wonderful if you are going to have multiple units. It is also energy efficient as it turns on and off with your computer. The only drawback is the WD website support. It is less than par. However with such an easy install you probably won't need it."

Perfect for PCs 07/20/2008

What's great about it: Small size, ease of use, no power required
What's not so great: None

"Perfect traveling partner! Easy and convenient way to back up data and carry it with me. Plugs into a PC's USB port and, once detected, can be loaded using drag-and-drop or any synchronization or back-up program.
Powered directly through USB port--no need for separate power connection when I used it on three different PCs (Sony, Toshiba [notebook], and Dell). Light located next to USB connection on hard drive tells you that it's on and working.
Fast data transfer allows me to backup thousands of photos and MP3s at one sitting. This is holding all (over 2000 and counting) of our summer pictures.
I walked into Best Buy prepared to purchase the 250GB model, but the price ($/GB) for the 320 GB model was too good to pass up. Besides, I've NEVER regretted buying more memory than I thought I needed!
This is my third WD hard drive in four years, and I've never had any problems with this one or any of the others.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!"

Easy to Use 07/20/2008

What's great about it: Easy to Use/Compact
What's not so great: None that I have found so far

"Purchased three WD Passports, one for each of my children (16, 14, and 12) so they could put their iPod library on it. We are using these with one desktop and two laptops (Toshiba and Gateway). The wonderful thing was I just handed it to them. They had no problem with the installation or transfering the data they wanted onto the WD Passport. No parental involvement for installation was necessary. Simple plug and play. YEAH!!!!"

Not completely USB-powered 06/26/2008

What's great about it: Small in size
What's not so great: Cannot be powered by all laptops

"This is a good product but if you have a Mac PowerBook G4, please know that this cannot be powered by a single USB connection. You will have to buy a seperate cable that utilizes both available USB ports.

The reason for this is that the drive does not completly conform to the USB specs and the PowerBook G4 only supplies the power required by the USB 2.0 spec."
