What's great about it: Picture quality is awesome
What's not so great: Need to have viewfinder, zoom features for video recording
"Outdoor picture qualities are great, but indoor not so good. For person who knows bit of photography, this camera serves the purpose. This camera has lotsa great options for taking fine quality fotos. You goto read the manual and understand the features, takes a while. I would recommend this camera to anyone who likes to do some photography. But this camera is awesome, good deal After all its SONY"

What's great about it: Design, LCD Screen, Features, Software, Pictures
What's not so great: Where The Playback Button Is Placed, Lens Cap
"For the price of this camera it's amazing. It may have a lot of features but if you read the information booklet that comes with it, it will only take you 15 minutes to understand everything. This is a good camera for any level photographers. Its light-weight for the performance it delivers. I've had a lot of cameras before and this is my favorite so far. Sony always has performed with crisp, clear pictures and video. The lens cap is a pain but i dont use it anyway. But the software that Sony provides is really awesome and it's very helpful."

What's great about it: You really do point and shoot.
"So far, I can not find anything "not so great" about this camera. I literally charged the battery and started taking pictures-it was THAT easy! Even taking the pictures from the camera to my laptop was extremely easy. The picture quality is better than many of those cameras that cost a lot more. I was able to catch a Christmas proposal in succession using this camera. If you are in the market for a great new camera, get the Sony Cyber-Shot!"

"I love this camera. If anyone is looking for a high quality, easy to use camera, this is what you need! The pictures a crisp and clear, and look great. If you need a good camera and its in your price range, I recommend it. The only bad thing is that the memory cards are on the pricey side. Otherwise, get it you WON'T be disappointed."

What's great about it: Takes Beautiful Pictures
What's not so great: Lens Cap
"This is a wonderful camera. We bought it before vacation and I was very impressed with the quality of pictures that this camera produced. The clarity was spectacular! If I could have given it more than 5 stars for picture quality I would have. The only draw back that I can see is that the lens cap has to be removed and then it hangs down while the camera is in use. This is a minor issue and l am getting used to it. Don't let that issue keep you from purchasing this terrific camera. LOVE IT!!!"

Extremely Disappointed

What's great about it: Its a Sony
What's not so great: Poor software; No date stamp on pictures
"I bought this camera with the brand Sony in mind. I owned a Mavica CD before the LCD broke, and it was awesome!!! I thought this camera would far exceed my expectaions, it did not. First and foremost, the camera does not insert a date stamp on the pictures. I called sony tech support and they confirmed this. However, if you use the provided software, you can manually insert the date on each INDIVIDUAL picture. I went to Disney and took over 200 pictures, who the heck has the time to MANUALLY insert the date on each picture???? Maybe sony should think of rewriting the software so that you can select all of the pictures once they are imported so that you can insert the date on all of the pix at once. This method would not be too cumbersome. Sony should have thought better, at the least I now know what not to buy. You should strongly consider this when thinking about buying this camera. All you Moms out there that want to scrapbook may not want this thing because who needs all those extra steps???"

"I was a Kodak person. After having 2 bad Kodaks and 1 Canon I read the reviews on this camera and knew that was what I was use to. Bestbuy was gracious in upgrading the other cameras. The Pictures of the Weimaraner really made my mind up, great Pics by the way. I am still trying to figure out all the features when I have time. It seems easy to figure out without a manual. I like very much so far."

What's great about it: Light Weight, Bright 3" LCD, Easy to Use
What's not so great: (Haven't discovered it yet...)
"My husband and I love this camera. It is easy to use... aim & click...great picture. With two small, non-stop children... they still stay in focus. Picture in a dark room? The flash is MORE than enough to completely illuminate, capture and focus. For what the bigger boys want for their camera and price... this one is a bargain at $279 and with the 4 gig memory stick at $30... $300 bucks is a dream price to pay considering what I was fixing to pay on an inferior competitor's camera.... with equal features. Love the fact I can do a slide show with music. Very light and compact but big enough for my husband to comfortably handle and use. Video is a little choppy when playing back on the PC but still decent, but that's not what we bought it for, so wasn't surprised or disappointed. Two thumbs up from us!! Thanks to the salesman that steered me towards this camera, you saved me $150 bucks. I owe you a latte! :)"

"I picked this camera up for my wife's birthday. She had the old cyber shot and loved it. She loves this one even more. Takes clear and crisp pictures. It has very little delay time even in bad light. The price of this camera is very reasonable. It did not take my wife long to get the hang of this camera. Overall a great purchase!"

What's great about it: many features, great zoom
What's not so great: taking good pics takes some practice
"this is a really good camera. many useful and fun features. only problem is that you can easily blur the pics if you use no flash in low light and if your subjects are moving even very slowly. this is mainly a problem indoors. with a little use you can figure out how to overcome this issue."

"I bought this camera for my vacation to Europe. It was easy to use and took great pictures. It made me look like a good photographer. Battery life was good (usually lasted a couple of days). I bought the memory card and it had plenty of room."

What's great about it: small size, good lens, ease of focus, good color quality, large LCD screen
What's not so great: no viewfinder, no cover for LCD screen, no interchangeable lens
"This is a good camera for students or others who are serious about improving their photo skills. It is useful in almost all situations except high speed sports. The telephoto feature is more than sufficient for most purposes. Beginners will find a lot of room to grow, while more experienced photographers will find enough features to make it a very handy 'quick shot' camera."
