"I have owned almost ever other virgin mobile phone on the market, and this one takes the cake! Its sleek, slim, durable, easy to use, great for txtin, and has is just a good phone all around. The battery life is a little lacking and it doesnt have a vid cam, but the overall quality of the phone makes up for it. The phone gets great reception and has txt memory, so even when ur not on t9, it can help you txt by memorizing ur txting patterns! This all at the affordable price of 65 dollars! WAYYYYYYY better than the wild card or super slice!! This is a great buy!!!"

"I moved to virgin wireless from a sidekick at t-mobile. Mainly due to cost. I chose the slash because I wanted a smaller phone. The Slash when closed is about the same size as a standard flip phone, and will fit in most cases easily.

The features on the phone are very well layed out. Easy to use menus make it fast. The best features are the tools, including a calculator, three alarm feature (I use it for an alarm clock) tip calculator, calendar with scheduling, notepad, voice memo.

The phone has voice activated menu's and calling as well, which work really well, so you dont have to scroll through menus...just say what you want to do. For example : Say "call joe" and it will dial the stored number for joe, or "Goto My Stuff" and it will load the menus for your graphics, ringtones, etc.

Speakerphone also works well, and is loud enough to hear in the car.
The phone has pre-installed animated screensavers and backgrounds, along with multiple clock/screen setups that allow you to personalize it.

There are also "xylophonic" keytones for the phone that really make it kinda cool audio wise.

Reception is great. The reviews complaining of poor reception are likely due to people not reading the instructions for the phone. In the manual it tells you not to cup the bottom of the phone in your hand, because the antenna is located at the bottom of the phone. Ive not had any problems with reception or volume during calls.
The ringtone is plenty loud enough, and the vibrate feature is close to what a old pager would do....rattles loudly on a table top, and shakes around.

The phone also features bluetooth connectivity, so you can use bluetooth devices such as headsets.

The camera is quick to use. There is a camera button on the side of the phone. Press it twice to go into picture taking mode. Then press it again to snap a picture. The OK button in the center of the directional circle can also be used to trigger the shutter. The picture quality isnt fantastic...but its a cell phone. Get a camera if you want good pictures. The phone will allow you to send pictures to other phones, or to an email address.

The screen is bright, and vivid, and is adjustable for brightness. The phone also features "airplane" setting. Which turns off the cellphone part during flights in airplanes, but will still allow you to use the games, and other non-transmitting features of the phone.

Web browsing is slow, but it works. Graphic intensive websites may not display due to the low internal memory.

The phone comes with a $2.50 balance. Which is sufficient for ordering a ringtone or something. So be sure to purchase a top-up card to start talking.
The phone also comes with VirginXL, which you can activate/cancel via the phone for .15 cents a day. It allows you to browse virgin mobile's selections of ringtones, graphics, games, etc.

I would recommend this phone to anyone needing a simple small phone. A PHONE. I see people continually buying phones, when they wanted a laptop...if you want a laptop phone go get a blackberry. These phones are for making PHONE calls, with limited text/internet capabilities. Use the tool for the purpose it was designed for."

"Ok ive been with VM 4 some years and i have to say when i first seen the slash i had to get it i was so happy to get it and now that i have it it's such a boaring phone i was lookn forward to a phone that offers more features. thats y i went out and bought the Vm shuttle phone and it is great it does all the things i like. but i think this phone could of been better. If anybody purchases this phone i recommend u get it 4 your kids because they might not be in to all of the that pickynest into what they want and like in ther cell phone and will just take a phone just to have one."

"i been with virgin mobile for over 6 years since the party animal came out, and since they been coming out with nice phoness, but the slash ruined it!! the slash came out in june 2008 and i couldent wait to get my hands on it, now i just want to smash it against the wall with its annoying beeping sounds!! this phone get extremely bad exeption, and the mobile im doesent work on any of the slashes!! i had ordered 2 replacment phones and yet the mobile im doesent work!! rhis phone is way tooo over priced!! if i was to recomend a phone to you i would say get the new vmu shuttle. for twenty dollars more you can get amazing sound quality a video taking phone and a built in music play!! but then again i would wait 4 weeks until vmu releases the smash!! the only phone that slides out to a full keyboard!!"

"I previously owned the sonic slider and I liked everything about it minus the volume, wasn't loud enough even at level 8. I always had good reception inside my house, basement and outside. However, this slash phone is no comparison at all. Extremely bad reception inside my house except one room, dont work at all in my basement, too many drop calls and constantly beeping. I can't carry it inside my purse whithout it beeping the majority of the time. I never had a phone do that, this is not good for a dual band phone. Outdoors this phone works well. The volume isn't loud enough even at level 8. The battery is really good. I went two days without charging. Too bad the sonic slider was discontinue. I like VM because of the variety of phones they offer, low prices on their phones and the plans. However, this slash phone was definitely over priced. I've own 4 phones from VM and the volume has always been a issue. Other carriers phone volume are much louder even when it's the same phone."

"I have dropped this phjone mant times and it is yet to break. You dont have to charge the phone every night and it still wont die. It vibrates very loudly. You hear it, more then you feel it. The camera is okay, but not the best. There aren't alot of features to this phone. It is a standard-phone. The price is a little high fof the qualities."

"This phone was a pain in my butt for 24 hours. I don't know if I got the bad apple but it did me absolutely no good. I wo
