What's great about it: Sounds Fantastic What's not so great: Controlling it is a little complex
"I am extremely pleased with the sound quality of this device. My iPod and car stereo have never sounded better. Learning the controls has been a little complex, but not bad once you learn them.
My only advice is to make sure you get the correct cable if you are using the newer generation iPod that requires the 5V cable. It is available from Peripheral (the manufacturer) but I'm not sure if they are being stocked by Best Buy. But would definitely recommend."

What's great about it: Great sound, charges and plays What's not so great: right speakers stopped playing after 10 months, but Best Buy replaced cord for free
"Paid to have this installed in my 2002 Honda Accord (w/o nav) in Nov. 2007. It's the only way I've seen to play the iPod, use the stereo and steering wheel controls and charge the iPod. Sound quality is much better than cassette or radio frequency players. Granted, it is pricey, especially with installation, but we felt it was worth it.
After 10 months of use, the right speakers started playing static instead of music. I took it into Best Buy and the installation guy replaced the faulty cord and we're back in business. Overall, we are very satisfied with this product and recommend it highly. My husband is jealous that he's stuck with a radio frequency iPod player in his car."

What's great about it: Fairly easy to install What's not so great: Is not compatible with iPhone, although the box says it is.
"I purchased this device to install in my '08 Honda Ridgeline (without Navigation). The box explicitly said it was compatible with my iPhone. I installed it right on the parking lot of Best Buy (luckily!).
When I went to try it out, the iPhone started charging, so I knew I had power, but I got a message that popped up saying the device wasn't compatible my the iPhone. I entered iPod mode, and still nothing worked, even when I pressed the AUX button on my radio per the instructions.
Needless to say, I uninstalled the device, and returned it right then and there. I will say that the installation wasn't extremely compiicated; I would say it took me about 30 mins.
I rated it 3 stars because overall, I think the device could be useful, if it worked as advertised."

What's great about it: Ease of use, sound quality, displays song info What's not so great: Keeps disconnecting
"After reading the reviews on this product, I was ecstatic to have it installed and try it out in my '06 TL. I immediately fell in love with the sound quality, song info displays, and the fact that I had complete control through my radio & steering wheel. Then about 20 minutes after I drove off my music kept skipping & the screen would read "IPOD NOT CONNECTED." I checked my iPod which was securely plugged in and realized it had to be internal. A few days later, the link COMPLETELY disconnected and all it said on the screen was "AUX 2." Also, my trunk button didn't work, my radio controls weren't as responsive, & my cigarette lighter was out. Needless to say, the installation was poorly done. I took it back & had a second technician solve the problems. Everything worked great as usual.. until a couple days later when the skipping began and it completely disconnects a second time. I think the cable may be defective. I'm taking it back and having a new one installed. HOPEFULLY this time around it'll be smoothe sailing. After this crazy experience, I'd STILL recomend it to a friend. Because when it is working properly, it's amazing. (The installers also made it so the cable came out of the cubby hole under my radio which was also great!)"

What's great about it: If it worked, it would be awesome What's not so great: It does not work
"I have a 2008 Honda Accord coupe (without navigation). The box of this product says it will work with 2008 Accords with no restrictions. I bought it and had Best Buy install it. The installer said it is not compatible, could not get it to work at all. I got a full refund from Best Buy, but buyer beware: does not look like this is a quality-tested product. It is doubtful the manufacturer ever tested this product with all of cars listed as "compatible.""

What's great about it: false promise What's not so great: does not work, waste of time
"I purchased this and the HD add on, paid bestbuy $100 to install. After waiting one hour, was told it does not work. Yes, on the box it clear said it works for Lexus ES350 2008. Got a full refund. But, you got to question if they even tested on Lexus before they claimed to work with it. If they assume their product will work, then, you should not buy it. Who buys product from company that assumes it will work?? Big waste of time."

What's great about it: Fully integrated, sounds great What's not so great: controls take some getting used to
"This is, without a doubt, the best iPod solution for my vehicle - '04 Acura TL. It sounds fantastic - much better than the cassette adapter I was using. The tech ad Best Buy ran the cable into the cubby under the radio, so iPod can be tucked away out of sight. Very, very happy so far."

Money well spent!

What's great about it: Sound quality is excellent! What's not so great: Have not found any yet.
"I had this unit installed in my 2005 Acura TL (without navigation) at the Eagan, MN location. I was very skeptical about purchasing this unit, but I was even more frustrated with all of the other ipod radio adapters I had tried. They all left me dissapointed. I decided to try this option as a last resort and I am very glad I did. This thing really delivers. I cannot speak for other makes of cars, but those who have a TL know that the sound system is very good-to get the most out of it with an IPOD, this purchase is a must. Operating the unit does take some getting use to but once you beat the learning curve-it is all sweet! The tech did an excellent job and made sure the car looked exactly as it did before the install-Great Job!"

Super way to get IPOD in a Honda
07/11/2008
By Adair727from Los Angeles, CA
What's great about it: Shows song titles, artists, etc... on the radio display What's not so great: Cannot control through steering wheel controls
"As with some other reviews I have seen, you really need to read the manual and practice the controls, but once you do it really is easy to use the IPOD on your Honda stereo. I have the 6 disc changer, XM, and IPOD and all three work perfectly using this adapter. The steering wheel volume works, but the other button does not change songs in IPOD mode. All in all, I am very happy with the purchase."

Excellent choice for iPod integration
05/27/2008

What's great about it: Complete control through factory stereo What's not so great: None so far
"I have a 2004 Acura TL with XM. I wanted to get an iPod integration kit that would allow me to get rid of the cassette adapter I had been using with decent results but allow me to charge my iPod as well as have full integration with my stereo. I looked at a couple of highly recommended units and came close to buying a different one. Then, by chance, I checked Best Buy again (they previously did not carry these kinds of kits) and they had just received these. I wanted BB to install whatever I got and being able to purchase the unit from them AND have them install it was a real plus. (They would have installed a unit purchased via mail order, but if I was not happy I would have to pay to uninstall it and ship it back - lots of potential headaches.) It took them about 2 hours to install it in my TL and the installer was able to route the docking cable to the cubby hole in the center console under the radio, which was really nice. They did a great job and everything works great. The sound quality is everything I hoped for and I am very impressed. Operating the unit takes a little bit of training, but once you understand which buttons to hit, etc., it becomes easy. Reading the small manual will save you some frustration. For example, you need to hit the AM/FM button and then the XM button to get back into the mode to allow you to switch between XM and the iPod. Read the book and it will all make sense.
I highly recommend this unit to any Acura TL owner looking for an iPod integration kit! I have pretty high standards and this product - and Best Buy - met them all."

Very Nice

What's great about it: Direct IPOD Connection, Upgradeable to HD-Radio, Able to use factory input as well as clickwheel. What's not so great: none
"I have 2006 Honda Pilot EX and an 80gb IPOD Classic firmware version 1.0.3. I have been looking for an direct IPOD interface to the factory radio. This unit is also marketed as a Peripheral Electronics PKAMG. This unit is fully compatible with my IPOD and allows control through the factory stereo or through the clickwheel. (you have to choose which mode by switching the input from IPOD to Aux1 or Aux2. ) Currently, I prefer controlling the IPOD throught the clickwheel as there is a lag when you use the factory radio to control the IPOD. In addition, you can add a HD radio tuner to this unit. I agree with the first reviewer, sound quality far surpasses any FM adapter. It is cheaper to buy an aftermarket radio with an Aux In, but I didn't want to deal with the hassle of taking a detachable faceplate with me. I had Best Buy install it for me and they routed the connector cable straight through the central dash area. Nice job!"

What's great about it: Full quality sound, Multiple inputs, Ease of use What's not so great: Installation
"I came across this by chance today and had to make the purchase. I have been fighting for an iPhone/iPod integrated car feature for a while. I previously purchased a $100 FM transmitter that charged as well and had an unfavorable experience. With the iSimple, I am able to control the iPhone with the factory stereo controls and even see the artist/song info just like it was coming from the XM radio. The sound quality is unbelievable and the versatility of the unit is great as well. The only problem I encountered was with the installation. I have a 2007 Honda Accord and would definitely use the BB installation unless you know your way around the car. I was able to do it with virtually NO experience in about 2 1/2 hours with minor scrapes on my hands and a few choice words spoken. In all seriousness though, you will not regret this purchase. If you want to keep your factory stereo and want all the functions of your iPod as well, this is a MUST BUY!"
