Best Camera for Belize Video

What's great about it: Much easier to handle than newer Aiptek Models
What's not so great: Keep lithium batteries on hand
"I took the best video and still shots with this camcorder. Many people want one in Belize on the Caribbean. Great pictures and video of animals, sea creatures, and moving shots while riding in the truck. I recommend this for ease of use and portability."

Good for the Money

What's great about it: inexpensive, small, decent sound and picture, mp3 player
What's not so great: extremely small battery life, not very good at night
"First of all, this could be either good or bad. It really depends on what you are going to use it for. For me, I just use it to film myself playing guitar and upload it on Youtube. This camera is perfect for that. However, if you are going to do something like make mini films or movies or something, I would not recommend it. It takes AA batteries, and for me, normal batteries get me 20-30 minutes of film time. If there is a battery pack for this, I would highly recommend it or else you'll need new batteries constantly. Also, if it is even relatively dark where you are filming, the quality is not going to be good. The nightshot will only work if the camera will stay in one spot. If you move it, it's not going to do it's job. So, what I'm saying basically is that it is a great camera for use of uploading videos on the web because of the price, but I would go with something else if you want to do something other than that."

What's great about it: Easy to use, great picture, excellent zooming capabilities
What's not so great: Does not work with Windows Vista as it stated when I bought it.
"I love this Camera. It is perfect except for the not working with my computer thing but that is ok I found a way around that. Everything else is just perfect. I love this camera!"

Really, can picture quality get this bad?

What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Just about Everything
"This camera has to be the cheapest junk camera. Video quality is so poor that you can barely recognize a human. It looks clear when video recording but then, go to transfer it onto you computer and BAM, not any more clear pictures. I would suggest a better, higher quality camera."

What's great about it: small, cheap
What's not so great: hard to hold, mine broke second day, to much software to install, bad quality picture.
"I bought this camera and a sd card went home and installed software for about an hour. I took some video and uploaded it and it looked horrible. I know you get what you pay for but this video was much worse then the flips. Besides the bad quality I really did not have any problems unitl the second day. I turned on the camcorder pressed record and it turned itself off, i though to myself that the batteries must be used up even though i had only shot about 5 mins of video. I changed the batteries and pressed record and it worked for about 10 seconds then the battery flashed from full to empty multiple times and then turns itself off and turns itself back on and does the same thing. I am going to return this piece of s**t and buy a Flip. Spend the extra 60 bucks and buy something that actually works. The flip is smaller, easier to use, the software is installed automatically when you plug the camcorder in, and uploading to youtube and other video sharing sites is as easy as pressing a button."

What's great about it: its small, easy to use, fun features, u can hear the people in the backround, good to use outside
What's not so great: battry usage
"i went to BestBuy with my grandma because she was letting me and my sister buy any camcorder under $100 so i pick up this apitek one i read the features and how good it is.so when i opend it up i could not believe how small it was!!!!when i got home i started playing with it then my friends came over we made so many videos thats there favorite thing to do when they come over.its perfect for a starter camcorder but buy extra batterys and buy a meory card too.i love my new camcorder!!!!!!!!"

What's great about it: change from color, black&wite, or sepia. takes still pics.
What's not so great: poor zoom
"I LOVE this camcorder, but don't expect it to take professional videos. It is great if you want to take short goofy cips, then erase them. (that's what me and my friends do =D) It def. takes better videos/pictures outside. Another thing is the still pictures can be up to 8MP!!! They also develope nicely."

What's great about it: He likes all of the things on the camera like the voice recorder
What's not so great: It goes through batteries like crazy. Make sure to buy extra. Make sure to buy a sd card right away.
"I bought this for my 15 year old son for his birthday and he has not let it down for very long at all. He loves it and says everyone who has this camera would be very lucky. He loves that he can record something and watch it on the tv. And he can use the voice recorder. We haven't done anything with the mp3 player yet and he will love it when we get to do that."

"It's very easy to use, the playback is great. I haven't sent anything to my computer yet, but think it will be just as easy as figuring out the recorder itself. This is my first camcorder, nice started item. The battery life does not last long though."

What's great about it: Features, ease of use
What's not so great: not rechargable
"This cam ios the best and worst item I have ever bought for my kids..best because they use it all the time, worst because....they use it all the time. They are sturdy and my kids learned to use them within minutes of taking them out of the box.
The quality isn't too bad either....don't expect the best when picking these up.
Only problem I had with this was there is no rechargable battery built in so you have to buy other rechargable batteries for it."

"The camera maybe small and holds a short amount of data w/out the SD card. It can be played as an MP3 or you can take pictures or make alot of videos on it. The SD card you can have alot more data on it. I happen to use it alot and it comes in handy. this is a camera you need to have."

What's great about it: Small, easy to use
What's not so great: Bad sound playback, so-so picture quality
"Right off the bat, this is not a great camcorder at all. This is a simple way to get some video taken.
It is easy to use and small enough to fit in your pocket, which makes it perfect to take video on the go.
Good for simple videos of kids and little adventures. I took it to Disney and it worked fine. Although the sound playback for videos of the parade was ear splitting.
Good for the price."

What's not so great: would not power up after 1st week; terrible customer care & repair
"This is my second Aiptek camcorder; the first one worked fine but was stolen.
This camera stopped powering on after only 1 week, before I had even created any real video! Aiptek let it sit for 2 weeks, 3 days in its receiving area before even looking at it for repair! Then they told me it would take another 2 weeks! I bought this for a wedding and will go out and buy another, then sell this one on Craigslist -- do not buy this camera!!"

What's not so great: if used frequently, cheap batteries dont last at all!
"I bought this camera a couple of months ago, and I love it! It takes amazing photos, and videos. The only thing that i think causes a problem, is the batteries dont last forever. But if you get the good kind (right now im using pro cell) they can last for a reasonable amount of time, baout 6 to 7 hours. Overall I LOVE this camera!"

"this camera is HORRIBLE! its sound is horrible, its lighting sucks, it sometimes doesn't work with windows movie maker. it was just simply a piece of junk. its ok for its price but if you want a great cheap camera, for $140 you can get a flip video ultra! it is so awesome i cant put it down. i record a ton of videos everyday! its battery life is great and it comes with its own movie editing software! so if you got this camera and you are unsatisfied with it (which you will be) i recommend the flip video ultra for $140"

"the video quality is very distorted and the flash does not work well. even in the shade in the middle of the day it did not take a good pic. the zoom does not work well either when zoomed the video is very blurry."
