What's great about it: Excellent space, exterior finish and features
What's not so great: The ice maker sometimes has problems with crushed ice....locks up.
"My wife and I did a lot of shopping around an read many reviews of different appliances before we settled on this GE. We wanted a Kenmore to match our appliances but after reviewing this unit and considering the discounted price that Best Buy offered us there was no way I would pass this buy. It's an excellent unit, an replaces a side by side of 23 years."

GE Fridge NO GOOD

What's great about it: nice look
What's not so great: broke down after 4months
"Worked like a normal fridge at first, nothing really amazing. When it was working it was worth what I paid for it. After only four months the fridge began to leak water from the ice maker and stopped cooling. It's under warranty but they cannot send anybody to check it out untill a week from now. Do not get this fridge without a warranty and make sure the warranty covers your damaged food (mine doesnt). I would only reccomend this fridge to someone I didnt like!"

What's great about it: size, looks space
What's not so great: stainless hard to keep clean, ice maker takes up lots of space, door shelves adjustments
"over all the machine is great, but the ice maker takes up too much space, the licht in the fridge is way to large and eats up space too. ( why not use LED"S) the fridge door shelves need better adjustability. Over all I like the machine IT WORKS! try and catche a Best Buy Sale..."

What's great about it: Time Tested Quality Through Door Water/Ice Feature
What's not so great: Same Outer Dimensions as my Old 1989 Hotpoint (GE) but less Inside Capacity
"Nice looking fridge! Love the fingerprint resistent stainless exterior however the door handles do show fingerprints. This is a fairly simple design and time tested (through door ice maker is very similar to my old fridge). I never had any problems with my old 1989 Hotpoint (GE) I simply bought this new fridge for energy efficiency purposes & stainless steel appearance (although I would have preferred the stainless/black color scheme to better match my other stainless appliances as opposed to the stainless/gray which looks a little off). This fridge has the electronic control panel so I hope it stands the test of time as well.
This is a very quiet fridge. Nice bright lighting inside.
My husband and I spent days researching refrigerators both on-line and by visiting stores. The adjustability of the shelves of this fridge is teriffic. Nice big fruit and veggie drawers too. I can fit 2 gallons of milk in just one of the door compartments which frees up shelf space for other items.
I'm looking forward to a decreased electric bill. This fridge had a very competitive energy star rating.
This must be a very popular fridge as we had to wait 2 weeks for availiability so don't wait until your old fridge quits on you before purchasing."

Great Purchase

What's great about it: The clean steel with stainless handles really matches our other stainless appliances without all the fingerprints!
What's not so great: Looks short and stalky next to our cabinets
"If I had taken measurements I might not have boughten the fridge because it goes out4 inches beyond our cabinets. However, the inside doesn't seem very deep so I guess having the depth insde the fridge is worth it. We've had this appliance about a month and it's working great. I like the electronic control panel on the door and really liked the chrome look as opposed to black for the water dispenser. Easy to remove and change shelves around. Great product for the money."

"We bought our fridge from the Pembroke Pines store/appliance dealer—along with 5-year extended warranty for extremely low cost. Our previous GE refrigerator was similar model but without all the new features. This unit is much quieter, larger, and I love the through-the-door water and ice (both cubed and cru...shed). The glass shelves are adjustable and pull out--both excellent features. We have had the refrigerator for less than a month, but at this point I give it very high ratings and extremely satisfied with the performance and being able to regulate the storage humility."

What's not so great: Nothing..Totally satisfied with my purchase!!!
"It's wonderful...I purchased this exquisite piece to complete my stainless steel kitchen collection and so far so good. No complaints. By the way the price I paid for it was a total “Steal”. I got it for half the price listed above. $800 including taxes. LOLLLL.
I am totally in control with adjusting this refrigerator the way that I desire. I can adjust the humidity depending on what type of food I may choose to store in that particular compartment. I have a two year old son, so the Child Lock feature is a plus. Also the door alarm is fantastic. My niece likes to have the refrigerator door open until she is finish preparing what ever it may be in the kitchen. The alarm rings after two minutes. This is a perfect
reminder for a person(s) that tends to forget that energy saving is crucial in these times.
The crushed ice that this Refrigerator produce is outstandingly freshing. Especially after a rough day at work. I Literally run home in the evenings to enjoy a long glass of Crushed-ice, cold Lemonade. I am totally in love with my GE side by side selection.
P.S. I promise you won't have no regrets..SDP ROYALTIES"

What's great about it: Style, size, quality.
What's not so great: It's only been a week, nothing bad so far.
"Size and stying are perfect, just what we were looking for. We had a tight space between the counter and cabinets and had trouble finding a unit that would fit without haveing to take the doors off. This one fits perfect.
Doors, drawers, shelves all operate smoothly. Cooled quickly and actual temperature display on the door panel is great."
