What's great about it: It works, very convieniant
What's not so great: Skips & Pauses
"I have the 160gb version Ipod, and my girlfriend has the 120gb version. Basically the same. They both work, they are fine. But I dont like that you cant transfer music between the two. Also, both have a bit of an issue.. If Itunes doesn't "LIKE" your MP3 file, it will load it, but then when you go to listen to it later, it will play part of the song, then skip to the next song! Also, you will get "PAUSES" during the song for no reason. Basically, it it just TOO picky about files being perfect. Also, songs are too pricey!
The good, Great storage size! Awesome for long audiobooks. I am a Long Haul Trucker. So I went from carrying over 200 cds with me, to the Ipod and about 5-10 cds. All in all ok, but next time.... I think I will shop around and do my homework more. These issues were known when I bought mine. I just didnt know enough to ask."

What's great about it: Fun features, easy start up
What's not so great: Battery dies fast when the screen stays on, artwork
"This was my first Ipod, and I am glad that I bought it! It is so much fun to use and listen too. It is a bit pricey but I you get your moneys worth. I really like the quiz feature it has. Definatly would buy over the nano. Overall its a wonderful product that I would recommend to any music lover!"

What's not so great: When listening to music i cannot hear it because the volum e range sucks
"Other than volume problems it isn't to bad but the volume is not good at all, it sounds like its only at about 15 decibels when it really should be about 300 decibles for the top volume"

What's great about it: Store tons of music, videos, podcasts, photos
What's not so great: can freeze
"Who wants to lug around 50 cds or a photo album, or even a dvd player? With the Ipod you can store all this and much more, its simple to use, pop in a disk, download, and your pretty much ready to go. you can burn your cds onto your ipod and buy dvds from itunes.
Down sides- the ipod can freeze, I know that if you lock and unlock it very quickly that normally takes care of the freezing, sometimes you may just have to restart it, but its not often. Also their a hot item, and a target for thieves, so never leave it lying around. Other then that everyone should have one."

What's great about it: Now has alarm clocks and sleep timer. Easy to rate your songs
What's not so great: doesn't work well with plastic covering wheel. very slow. seems to hang up. 30gb didn't do that
"What I said above. It is sweet that it now has a sleep timer and alarm clocks. I used this to wake me up in an airport layover. I have been wanting a sleep timer feature and was surprised I got one. Replaced my 30GB video for the 120GB as I needed more space. My 30GB was perfect and still works great; I gave it to my Lady as she only had a shuffle. The 120GB is slow. It seems to hang up at times. I do not think it is because of the extra space but of the new software. If the hang ups are caused by features such as those mentioned, it is well worth the trade off.
I have tried other mp3 players before the ipod... I returned them all. Ipod is so much easier to use. There is a reason why it holds the market share..."

What's great about it: Stores Everything you could ever need
What's not so great: Fragile screen
"I love the fact that it is a multi-application device. I'm in a language course and i love the fact that i can store lessons on it. I have also used it to store movies on, and they play back clearly. My only problem with it is that the screen is fragile. I broke the screen on the first one when isat down wearing jeans and a coin in my pocket cracked it."

What's great about it: This is my first IPOD and it took less than 5 minutes to get going on it. Itunes was already on my puter though
What's not so great: The stock ear buds , no case , belt clip or armband included
"I have had this Ipod for less than a month and I don't know why I never got one sooner. The idea of being able to take my entire cd collection wtih me wherever I go without luggin 2 or 3 cd cases around just thrills me to death.
I have also ran this through a friends car stereo with an MP3 auxilary jack and it sounds phenominal. I plan on replacing my current car stereo with one that has an aux input and of course I will purchase that at Best Buy as well. In short .....if you are still listening to cd's , the 90's called and they want them back !!!"
