This is my second eMachines computer. The first one lasted for 7 years before finally giving up so I naturally went back to eMachines.
The T5254 is a great machine for the price. I looked at several different makes and always came back to this PC. 2 gigs of ram, the multi-format card reader, a decent sized hard drive and a Double Layer DVD RW/CD RW drive pretty much sealed the deal.
I am really sold on eMachines and I have had this PC for about a week now. Easy to set up and get running and no problems so far. It's not a gaming machine but it does have an open PCI Express x8 expansion slot in case I ever want to upgrade it. And Vista is really not a bad OS once you get used to it. I just wish it came with an optical mouse...

What's not so great: Lack of Documentation, old-school ball mouse.

its a good computer for the money... Mines the t3642 and works great! i had another emachines wich lasted me 3 years... yeah 3 yrs doesnt soud like alot but it only cost $450.... Good computers for the price.!!!!
What's great about it: Cheap
What's not so great: I would be surpriced if a con came up later on

FIRST OFF I DON'T WORK FOR BEST BUY.
I have two eMachines, and have had excellent service from both of them. This model is load with every thing the typical user will need, so you won't have to fool around upgrading for a long time. If your into games you may need to add a video card, but that is true for almost all off the shelf systems. VISTA needs 2 gig's of memory, so in my opinion its silly to buy a system with less than that.
What's great about it: CPU, 2 GIGs MEM., VISTA, HD SIZE, PRICE!
What's not so great: NONE
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased this as a second computer to complement my Mac notebook and so far I have been very impressed with it.
This was my first eMachine purchase and I am pleased with its stability and speed.

oh yeah forgot to mention it also has memory card options to choose from, plenty of usb ports. For the price you cant beat it. AMD dual core
What's great about it: Loaded with great features, 2gigs mem, vista, dual core
What's not so great: cant find any cons
