What's great about it: Beautiful Color, long lasting toner
What's not so great: Heavy

"I couldn't ask for a better printer. It's fast and the color is beautiful. My friends are coming over asking me to print out items for them and that's OK because the print toners last so long. Imagine not having to buy toner for 6 months or longer.
It is big and heavy so it's not portable in that sense, but once it's set up you have a professional print shop in your home.

What's great about it: Cheap! OMG Cheap!
What's not so great: Cheap! no frills, but does the job.

"I bought this printer because I was looking for a color ink jet that had individual color wells. When I was at Best Buy I talked to the computer department guy about my desire to have individual ink wells for the color and black and he said the only ones they had in the store were the multifunction printers. I didn't really care for the multifunction printers because I just wanted a printer, I already had a scanner.

This pushed me into the $200 range for printers and on a lark I said to the computer department guy, "Well at $200, I should look at laser printers..." He responded, "We do have one in that range.

He showed me the 1215. I LOVE IT!

While you only get about 1200 pages out of the toners, I am extremely pleased with this printer. I am used to laser printers at work and color lasers. The quality of the prints I get out of my 1215 is comparable to what I get out of the $3000+ printers at work.

This is a 600DPI printer that is like every other laser printer I have ever used.

But this printer is slow, S L O W, SLOW! I new going in on this printer that it would be slow, but man, it is SLOW. So if you are looking for a fast printer, you do NOT want this printer. If you don't care about speed but want laser quality at home, this is the printer you want. The toner is cheaper per page than an ink jet. I have run 4 reams of paper through the printer and have only needed to replace the toner cartridges once.

I am very pleased with this printer!"
