If you need to navigate around without hassle and even do not want to read the manual, THIS is the one.
But unfortunately, the build in memory is not expandale by SD-cards and is too small to buy the additonal cards of Europe or other places.
Still, TomTom is far better then any other navsystem around because it is EASY to use!
So, if you only need assistance to get the trustfull navigation, this is the one you want for an acceptable price.
What's great about it: easy navigation, easy use, easy portable
What's not so great: too little memory available, so no way to take additional cards/poi's etc
I would recommend this to a friend!

The TomTom XL 330S is an Excellent GPS!
It has great Text-to-Speech feature- Never miss a turn or exit!
Great directions! Tons of Points of Interest!
Easy to set up & use!
Great mounting system- much better than the old suction cups!
TomTom is the best! I've tried others, and there were many more issues with them.
I replaced my TomTom One 3rd Ed. with the 330S. Both have been terrific!
This is one product I have no concerns about!
What's great about it: Excellent Text to Speech! Great directions! Tons of Points of Interest! Easy to set up and use!
What's not so great: Nothing!

purchased the tom tom to compare to my Garmin 255W, i kept the Garmin!!!! the tom tom had problems from the start!!!! i HAVE high speed internet and it still took 4 hours to down load the map, and when it finally did down load the map was too big for what internal storage was left on the tom tom, so i had to erase lots of stuff on the tom tom to add the new map. THEN every time i tried to add something, anything new, i had to erase something else!!!!! just a headache, and i was only starting out. Found out that the lane assist only works in certain places, meaning not where i live of course, and after reading reviews found out that it works in few places anyways!!! the zoom out was too sensitive and when you did zoom out it didnt show you what you were near, for example other highways and interstates, you know things that would maybe be helpful!!!! dont waste your money on this!!!!! eventually the map upgrades will probably be so big the whole gps will probably be obsolete, and i dont know about you but i didnt buy a gps to not upgrade my maps so i can know where im going!!!???? i would recommend the Garmin 255W got it on sale and it works GREAT!!!!!! the Xl i would NOT recommend
What's great about it: homer simpson voice offered
What's not so great: maps are IMPOSSIBLE to down load---no SD card slot

I got this for my mom for her birthday and needless to say, i was the first one tinkering with it.
its a very good buy, very easy to input any directions or favorites, the touch screen was very responsive and very forgiving as far as sloppy use of street spelling. Wasn't overly touchy but you didn't have to peck hard at it to get what you wanted
I'd recommend it to anyone
What's great about it: Easy navigation, straight ahead instructions and functionality
What's not so great: getting used to interface - ie: touching screen at any time will take you to different screen, no big deal though
I would recommend this to a friend!

My first GPS system and I am very pleased! I got everything out of it that I wanted. I can't wait to try it out on vacation. There are a lot of different brands out there, but if you want a simple to use GPS with lots of features and reasonably priced, you will not be disappointed!
What's great about it: The rerouting feature , the emergency services and easy to use!
What's not so great: Nothing

It has been a good GPS had it for about a year now. It did take me a really long way once coming from a small town in TN but other than that it has helped me find alternate routes to avoid major traffic very well.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Pretty good directions. Finds alternate routes well. Allows you to avoid any part of route you want.
What's not so great: NO MEMORY CARD SLOT. LIMITED MEMORY. HAVE TO HAVE BARE BONES TO GET NEW MAPS

I had heard Tomtom not as good as Garmin. Now I know it's true. Tried this one, couldn't find Walmarts in my city (about 8 in all), took me home by the longest route and when detoured, kept trying to take me back to longest route. Menu is impossible to understand, very confusing. Took it back next day and got a "real" GPS, a Garmin.
What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Everything

I purchased the XL330S because it was on sale and I didn't want to spend the money on another Go720, my Go lost its voice, I did abuse it so I figured it was my fault.
XL330S takes longer to program, map accuracy is about the same but screen response time is much slower.
If you are coming from a One or other XL you will not notice the difference, down grading you will see a big difference if you are a traveling salesman like me.
XL330S does its money's worth but if you can afford it get a Go7XX or higher.
What's great about it: Works good for the price
What's not so great: Not as fluid as the Go Series

This is my first GPS and was a breeze to use. After opening it up I plugged it into my PC and downloaded all of the updates for it on Tom Tom's site and added a few POI and new icon. I used it the following day and traveled to an area that I did not know for basically the entire trip and it worked like a charm and saved me over $20 in tolls. The biggest thing is that I don't argue with the wife over which way to go :).
What's great about it: Got me to my destination without any issues.
What's not so great: Have not had an issue yet.

I had previously rented Garmins with rental cars. They were a breeze to learn and use. They were real good about recalculating alternative paths to your destination if you went off course.
The TOM TOM will merely try to route you back to where you went off course. This does not work in your favor when you intentionally go off course due to detours or traffic. TomTom also gives the longest routes, not short or quick ones. My TomTom has troubles turning on, aquiring satellite (IN HOUSTON?) and trouble KEEPING satellites. It is NOT very intuitive to use.
TOMTOM IS A PIECE OF JUNK. More than once I was about to throw it out the window of the truck on the Freeway. Thought about selling it, but cant make myself DO that to somebody else.
Gonna have to eat this one unless Best Buy lets me trade for a Garmin.
SAVE YOURSELF GRIEF...GET A GARMIN !!!
What's great about it: NOTHING GOOD ABOUT TOMTOMs
What's not so great: Gives WRONG directions. Use not at all intuitive. Frequently loses signal. Does NOT recalculate well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you're looking for a basic or more sophisticated GPS to easily locate the correct address and provide a convenient route don't buy a Tom-Tom, at least not in the US. Used fine in Europe but search algorithm in these units not at all usefull to locate addresses in US. Much prefer Nextar or Garmin devices used as well. Looks like this EU based company hasn't done much testing of their mapping in US.
Customer Service not helpfull to say the least. Unit locks up frequently and only answer for this by TomTom - must be an application problem. Duh, it's the application they loaded on it - reloading the same multiple times isn't going to fix it! Better solution: test the software you put on your site to make sure it works.
What's great about it: Decent screen
What's not so great: Can't find many addresses - routes outdated
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

First off...for everyone that says text to speech (street names) does not work, it does. Samantha, and Tom Computer voices will perform this. Human voices don't.
This GPS found my father's address, and uses the route I use. My Garmin didn't like the Turnpike, which I use. I think this thing will do just great.
What's great about it: Just got it
What's not so great: Don't know yet

I have had this GPS for three weeks now. I have had no problems with it. I have had only one address that it could not find, but map quest said the same thing. I learned that you have to download the Tom Tom Home, save all info to your hard drive. If you are installing a new map, you have to delete the old one first and then install the new map. If any problems, you can delete the new map and then re-install the original map back to the GPS from your computer. The best way to keep up with the maps is to join map share. The files are small and they are free for one year. I did it and it only took only 5MB of space to update the map. Just to know where you are going is important, street names is not the reason to take the unit back.
What's great about it: Easy to use right from the box
What's not so great: Not enough memory
I would recommend this to a friend!

If all you want is "Turn right in 200 yards," in the US only, this may be the one for you. It worked fine at that basic level. But we paid for spoken street names and for maps of Canada and the unit was unable to do either of those functions, even after two calls to Tom Tom service and more than an hour on the phone, and a couple of hours connected to the computer.
The problem: There is just not enough memory to store the maps and the voice, despite all assurances to the contrary. The question was whether to keep the unit and use it in its basic mode, or return it and get one that actually does what the box says it does. We returned it.
I should say, however, that the technical assistance people were genuinely nice, not at all in a hurry, and willing to help as much as they could. Too bad the product didn't live up to their standards.
What's great about it: Worked OK out of the box, if all you wanted was the basics
What's not so great: No usable maps of Canada, unless you install them. If you can.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I loved the wide screen and how easy it was to use. I barely needed instructions to tell me how to use it. I liked that you can customize to your liking such as the car icon, map colors, voice, etc. I also liked that it gave me the option to avoid roads that require a toll charge.
However, I must say that I got more lost with the TomTom XL 330S than without it. It is very inaccurate when it comes to addresses. It thinks I live down the road from where I really live and my house was built in the 1930s. I typed in the address of the Best Buy I bought it from just to try it out and the address didn't exist to TomTom, nor did the address of the store next door and they have both been there for many years. I took it downtown and it was HORRIBLE. I was at the end of the block where my destination was and it instructed me to make a turn and go in the opposite direction (and yes, I made sure the address was put in correctly), I ended up having to use a paper map to get me home that night.
I also bought this model specifically for its text-to-speech feature and after the first day it never worked. The first time I used it, it said a few street names, but not all. After that, it never once spoke a street name to me.
Overall, I was very disappointed with this TomTom. I took it back for a Garmin Nuvi 260W and am very pleased with this unit over the TomTom XL 330S.
What's great about it: Nice screen size. Easy to use. Ample customization options.
What's not so great: VERY Inaccurate
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Relative easy to use. Not so easy to use the function of speach the street name. I cannot find a way to use it. This device only has 1 GB Maximum space to update the map. If an updated map > 1 GB, you can not update it.
Do we need buy another one in order to update a map?

I found this very easy to program. Nested menus easy to figure out. I like the wide screen. Mounting was easy. A little trimming on the mini USB connector of an old cell phone charger and you have a home charger. I thought the USB connector is poorly placed and difficult to access. The placement of gas station icons is sometime to late to use. I made several mid route changes to see the results. They came quickly and easily followed. On the whole I thought the unit responded well and was easy to use and see from anywhere in the front of my vehicle. My wife did not like my choice of over speed alarm, but when I made a change it was better. I guess I won't have an excuse to get lost again.
What's great about it: This is very intuitive to use, but I'm a techie.
What's not so great: Some accuracy issues.

I got this TomTom for Christmas and I absolutely love it. It is so easy to use and it remembers your previous destinations so you can go back to them for future use instead of re-typing it every time. The POI's are a great idea but needs a huge update. There are many gas stations, stores, and restaurants that still aren't on there both new and old. Over all this is a agreat GPS and I would reccomend it to anyone and everyone. I have used it to find about 7 different businesses and home addresses and it has put me right next to the building.
What's great about it: Quick navigation, clear & large screen, vivid colors
What's not so great: Not very many POIs, doesn't come with a case or home charger
I would recommend this to a friend!

My wife bought mine for me because I was taking her tom tom all the time on patrol with me. I have used others such as Garmin and I have to say that tom tom is the easiest and thus far fastest to use when time matters. We do have onboard maps in lap top, but my tom tom can beat it out almost everytime, not to mention it tells me when approaching a turn ect. I wish however that I could lock it into my county and look up addresses just here instead of touching the screen one extra time. Then again its a small detail that really doesn't slow me down much. I love the ease as to which one can keep it updated. Simply plug it into the computer and it updates. Very user friendly as is all tom tom products I have found. I dont need all the other fancy stuff found on other GPS units. The large screen is great too. I have found nothing so far that is bad about this unit or any tom tom product.
What's great about it: Quickly gets the directions.
What's not so great: Wish I could lock it into one county and its roads.
I would recommend this to a friend!
