What's great about it: Sympathetic characters and story, fun gameplay, breathtaking voice acting, epilogue, multiple endings. What's not so great: Repetitive, turn-based combat, lots of dialouge.
"Few people know of the hour between 12:00 and 12:01, when everyone without potential resides in a coffin, and the moonlit streets become rivers of blood.
Our hero arrives at his new dorm amid the most peculiar circumstances. The economy strains under Apathy Syndrome, students disappear, and shadows roam the night. Gekkoukan High turns into Tartarus—an elaborate, 250+ floor tower, home to the game’s dungeon crawling element. By day, the nameless, silent protagonist listens to lectures and befriends classmates before returning to the depths of Tartarus to fight with models of his psyche.
Persona 3 builds characters and story in a school year. If you enjoy short games with minimal dialogue and rapid action, this game is not for you. This game has conversation pouring out of every orifice long before any save point arrives. (At one point, the player must complete twenty one actions between a save point and boss battle. I spent fifteen minutes skipping the dialogue every time I lost.) The exposition creates real characters, and even those minor NPCs are fully developed. Hero hears stories of a girl dealing with her parents’ divorce, a boy fighting to maintain his ability to walk, and a man whose life is limited by a genetic disease.
The JPop soundtrack may haunt you, either being catchy enough to warrant a download or to make you jam the “MUTE” button. You will, however, want to hear the excellent voice cast. Featuring the wonders of Liam O’Brian, Michelle Ruff, and the (in)famous Vic Mignogna in what I believe may be their best job yet.
If you enjoy RPGS (Japanese or not), this game is an excellent addition to the shelf. Atlus and Shin Megami Tensi have produced what I consider the best game I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing."

What's great about it: 120+ hours of addicting gameplay, unique RPG gameplay, loads of new content, new content add more replay value What's not so great: Somewhat repetitive dungeon-crawling
"This game has been, easily, one of the best RPG experiences I have ever had. Now I have always been more of a Final Fantasy fan, but have been a SMT fan for equal time. Owning Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, I was expecting more like that in Persona 3, and even though I was wrong, I am not complaining.
When I heard that Persona 3 FES was coming, I set it in my mind to buy it, despite the fact I own the original. This is the game that does not disappoint its fans. The gameplay is addictive, the Social Link system adds a new feel to the RPG universe, and the Personas are nothing short of brilliant.
Also, the added content, especially the continuation of the story from the end of the first game, adds more satisfaction for when you FINALLY manage to beat this game. But a word of caution, this game wont just LET you beat it.
The ONLY downside to this game that I see is that the constant dungeon-crawling through Tartarus can be boring at times. But that is where the constant and ever-present plot twists come in to pull you back into the world.
Whether you are an RPG fanatic, Otaku, or simply a RPG fan looking for something to pull you from the real world for hours at a time, you owe it to yourself to BUY THIS GAME. Its an enjoyable experience all around, and the price is NOTHING to complain about, expecially after the first time putting it into your PS2."

What's great about it: Over 130 Hours of gameplay and it's cheaper than most RPG games out there What's not so great: Leveling up can get boring since it's the same thing over and over again
"I played the previous installment of this game and was immediately addicted to it. I usually don't play a lot of RPG games since I'm in college and don't have a lot of time to play, but this game is amazingly addictive. I bought this summer since I have some time to relax. I bought it a couple weeks ago and I've barely got a 1/3 of gameplay on it. The new additions like gameplay, music, plots, and many more keeps you guessing from the original one. The new Personas are cool as well as the quests which are more interesting than the first. Pretty much, the previous installment got the award for BEST RPG in 2007 for a reason."

What's great about it: 120+ hour storyline, tremendous amount of customization, great soundtrack and voice acting What's not so great: Dungeon crawling may get repetitive, Social Links become meticiulous to organize
"Having played the original version when it was first released, I was immediately hooked. Before that, however, I was already a huge fan of the Shin Megami Tensei games, having played Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2, Nocturne, and the previous installments of the Persona label. Persona 3 brings the very best of Atlus - and the RPG-world in general - into this massive compilation, featuring and enhanced version of the original game and an entirely new add-on "sequel" that serves to answer all the questions left at the ending of the original game and tie up all loose ends. Like myself, if you already have the original game, I still strongly recommend getting Persona 3 FES; the enhanced original game plus the sequel are more than worth the purchase, especially at such a great price."
