"I purchased this Samsung LN40A750 HDTV a few weeks ago online. I did store pick up and it was very smooth and fast. I first went to numerous Best Buys in the Twin Cities area and compared and window shopped for 6 months. In the last week I had it narrowed down between this TV, and Sony Z series. Both are 120 HZ and 1080p. They both have the crispest of images.
Why did I go with the Samsung? A couple reasons. 1. I was impressed with the surround sound. We have this TV up in our loft and it is amazing. 2. It has a USB outlet allowing you to plug in and show a slideshow of you own photos. 3. The last was price. The Samsung was on sale and I saved about 250.00 compared to the Sony Z series.
Tip: If you purchase this TV at the store, stop by in the Blueray section as there is a 3 pack of Blueray DVDs that are free when you purchase a 1080 HDTV. I didn't get to take advantage of this because I purchased online.
Now that I got the TV it has some fun features that I am fond of. The Samsung TV comes with a built in program that has prestored photos, games, recipes right at you finger tips. The photos are amazing and fun to have on a slideshow when company comes over.
Setup time: Very smooth. 30 minutes. Once the TV is turned on the screen will walk you through a series of easy questions regarding your environment. (There is also a quick set up quide for anyone who needs further guidance)
What extras do you need if you buy this TV? 1. HDMI cable 2. Power surge - this protects against lightening and also keeps an even flow of energy to your TV prolonging the bulbs life.
Optional but not needed Recommendations: 1. Buy the Playstation - Blueray plays great in it and its the same price as the other bluerays out there. Also if you buy the service plan they replace the system insead of trying to fix it. 2. If your going to spend this much on a TV spend a little extra to protect it. I did the 4 year replacement plan which puts me at ease down the road.

"This Samsung 40" has a great, crisp picture both with HD channels and those without HD - you will see details you never did before. The Dolby sound is great as is or hooked up to speakers, it is theater quality. The scarlet bezel and design are very different and eye-catching. The swivel stand helps make access to the hookups for camera and pc very easy. After much research and comparison, this TV was tops. Very happy with the purchase and ease of set-up. Definitely recommend the Samsung brand for it's quality and value."

Pros: Stunning real-life picture (120 hz).Stylish design.Pre-loaded extras(art!).Nice sound. Cons: Very wide stand, could not fit on mantle.Only option was to mount or use tv stand.
"After extensive reasearch on all LCD tvs on market, I chose this Samsung 750 series over Sony XBR5 for the following reasons. Both tvs have stunning pictures but this Samsung model was a cheaper price, and offered more with the stylish design (hint of red color on bezel) and pre-loaded material (art work is phenomenal picture quality and great for when company is over). USB port is convenient. 120hz and 4ms response time provide real-life images that are unmatched by other brands. Sound of tv is very good with 2 built-in 10W down-firing speakersand integrated woofer. Infolink system provides stock quotes, weather, current news, etc. for those who need to be up to par on things. Only negative was the tv's pedestal was too large so I could not place on mantle; had to use regular tv stand."

"This TV is the best purchase I ever made. The high contrast ratio gives me a beautifull picture day or night. The multiple inputs are a great asset to this set. I have a WII, playstation 3, and my laptop directly connected to this TV with room for more. Yes, I said laptop. I download movies with my laptop and can watch them on my TV. I love it. I researched long and hard to find the best TV for me and do not regret it 1 bit."

"I investigated diffrent tv's I was between Sony or Samsung. I went to CNet and this TV model was CNet's Editor Choice. I watched reviews and went to best buy to see the pictures in person. I must say it is worth the upgrade from the 6oo series just get the 700 series. Well worth every penny."

Pros: It has an amazing picture! It is really good when you have a blu-ray to hook up to it. Cons: I have had this tv now for over two months and it has not given me any problems, or anything else that others have had.
"Definitely buy this tv it is amazing. I would recommend this tv to anybody. I have been a big Sony supportter all my life and some of their best tv's could not compare. The contrast ratio on Sony's best was 18000:1 and this tv has a contrast ratio of 50000:1. I think the picture is better than Sony's, and from anywhere between $500 to $1000 cheaper. The 120Hz does great for the action scenes whether it is regular tv or blu-ray."

"I must say that this TV is the one to get. I have been research on the 650 & 750. Whatever issues that the 650 has, you can download the firmware. As for the 750, I don't have to download anything. No bugs at all and yes it does have a wheel remote. It's just like the Ipod wheel. For those of you know what I'm talking about. I have this TV for a little over a week now. I can't keep my eyes off of this TV. You will watch it with a whole new experience."
