What's great about it: It works with WIndows 7 and it works great!
What's not so great: limited features
I bought it primarily for use on an older model PC using XP OS until I could buy a newr PC using WIndows 7. It works with WIndows 7 and it works great! My only issue with it is that there aren't allot of features, but otherwise I can Skype, see & talk with my children!

What's great about it: No driver needed. Reliable and better than average.
What's not so great: Loses feature in Windows 7 64-bit (no software support).
I have been using this camera for two years. Two years ago it was one of the best and the price (I paid $55 with tax) was unbeatable. I believe that mine has a glass lens but that is not among current specs.
It was easy to use on Vista and XP and all features were functional. On Windows 7 64-bit some of the more advanced features (e. g. face tracking) are lost.
No driver is needed, it is a plug-and-play. I preferred it over Logitech that comes with bloatware and a dual layer of drivers and unnecessary services that used to confuse Skype.
The built-in mike is reasonably sensitive but it can get confused in periods of long silence. It is still better than 3-year-old top-of-the-line Logitechs but it does not come close to my new Logitech 9000 ($75, incl. tax). The Logitech beats this unit in picture quality too. On Windows 7 I can safely ignore the Logitech installation.
Here you get what you pay for. This is still higher quality than cheaper Logitechs. Both sound and picture are reasonably functional.

What's great about it: Easy set up, good price, clear video, nice autofocus, easy to move webcam 360degrees
What's not so great: Mic not turned on automatically, doesn't clamp onto side of monitor only the top
I installed the software, plugged in the webcam and so far, so good. I'm using this webcam over dsl internet and notice a 15 to 20 second delay. Using yahoo messenger to chat with someone in Afghanistan, he says the quality of the video is excellent. I don't care too much for the "special effects" that the software provides but its a nice addition. The clamp fits perfectly at the top of my desktop monitor but ideally I'd like to have it clamp on the side of my monitor and the clamp on this cam doesn't allow for that versatility. Overall I'm pleased with this cam. I had to adjust the mic settings under "control panel" to get the mic to work; I hoped it would've automatically turned on.

What's not so great: So far nothing
Extremely ease of use with i-chat, Skype, and Quicktime. Just plug in, sign on and use.
Audio is excellent. Video is what you might expect from a lesser expensive webcam, however, operates very well in medium to low light. Autofocus works very well and adjusts quickly. If you're looking for pro results for pro applications, a lot more money must be spent.
Recommended for fun with family, kids, grandkids, and friends.

What's great about it: Easy to use! Great Quality!
What's not so great: Nothing!
I'm very happy with my purchase. I was looking for a web cam that was not super expensive, but that worked well with progams like Skype, Oovoo, Facebook etc. And it works great for that. I didn't want anything too fancy and have special features that I was not going to use. This is a great basic web cam. My mom has an I-MAC laptop, I honestly believe that this webcam is better then the one on her laptop. The person who helped me at best buy said that I would probaly need to buy an external microphone because the built in microphone doesn't work very well. When I really did use the product, I've had a great experiance with the built it microphone. It does work very well. I would deffinatly recommend this product to other. The store price matched me for the sale price that was online.

What's great about it: Good quality video
What's not so great: The manual has insufficient detail particularlly about MAC instal
Many of the complaints about this product are from MAC users who cannot load software despite manufacturer saying product works with MAC OSX.
CD and instructions only cover PC instal
However after much effort and help from Geek Squad I got the answer.
FOR MAC OPERSTION YOU DO NOT NEED SET UP SOFTWARE . OSX HAS IT BUILT IN. JUST DOWNLOAD SKYPE AND SET IT UP.
I DOWNLOADEDED MAC DRIVERS FROM ROCKETFISH WEB SITE FOR THEIR NOTEBOOK CAMERA. THIS SITE HAS A MAC INSTALLATION DRIVER. THEN I LOADED SKYPE AND I WAS IN BUSINESS.
Video quality is good and I am pleased with purchase. However Rocketfish and Best Buy deserve all the bad publicity they get from MAC users. The level of the manual and set up assistance for Mac is substandard.

What's not so great: IT DOSNT WORK FOR MACS
i wouldnt reccmend this product to anyone i know.
there is only 2 things good about it, the audio and video, it is not easy to work with, it dosnt self install, and the "autorun" that comes on it dosnt even work for macs, when it is advertised it works.
i have spent the last 2 days trying to install it, getting downloads from 5+ websites and nothing.
i cant talk, or be seen on my camera.
i wouldnt reccomend this to anyone.
biggest waste of money iv spent on my mac, and iv bought some pretty stupid stuff.

What's great about it: Its easy as pie to set up, Pic quality is better then competitors, Price
What's not so great: Mic leaves a bit to be desired
Its a great cam for the price. Great features, some fun toy like addons (The facial tracking addon's like the werewolf and such). It was worth the money, but you *may* want a secondary mic, as the mic (at least in my unit) wasn't all that clear.

My daughter and her family is moving away and thought it was a great way to stay in touch. They purchased this webcam so we could stay conncected and really like it for the price. My grand daughter told me about skype you can do video calls for free and the picture is clearer. But it was an easy set up and I can also use it on yahoo messenger.I didn't need a webcam that is fancy and do all this extra stuff just to stay connected with them.So you can't go wrong for the money.

What's great about it: clear, great features, nice price, easy to use
What's not so great: not stable
This is my first webcam. After experience with cameras, I chose this webcam because it had 2.0 mp while most others in the store had 1.3 mp. By knowing this, it should be very clear. When I brought it home, it was supereasy to set up and use. Everything is excellent except for one thing. We have different sized desktops and laptops in the house and this webcam doesn't stand so well on some. There are grips on the camera to hold onto your monitor , yes you can extend it or tighten it to the monitor or even just leave it to stand. I never knew this but the desktop I use has a monitor that has a big bump behind it. I don't clip my webcam onto it because it becomes loose and falls off, so I just let it sit on one of my speakers. (One small thing! The USB cable is pretty short ) It works perfect with flat monitors, mine is flat but it must be flat all over like a laptop. Overall, this is a very nice webcam for first-timers!

What's great about it: Easy to set up, great quaily , reasonable price
I was looking for a good quaily web camera. When i got at the store i was a little bit lost so i didn't know what to purchase. I grabed a Logitech camera that was almost 100 dollars but the associate recommended the Rocketfish. I was a little bit skeptical but i have to say i am surprised. This is a great camera, very easy to install, and the quality which is the most important thing it's great.

What's great about it: It worked with Yahoo and windows live messenger, auto focus, easy set up
What's not so great: Picture quality
Pros: The set up was smooth and easy on an HP Vista machine. It worked as advertised with Yahoo and Windows Messenger. It is small and light and mounted well on my monitor.
Cons:The picture quality is AWFUL. It was full of electronic noise. It was like watching a weak tv signal, full of snow. I have a cheapie logitec cam that blows this one away as far as pic quality goes. I am taking it back. I suppose I could have gotten a bad unit. That happens sometimes, but I think I will be changing brands.

What's great about it: Easy set up w/ Vista. Good Quality Video...Good Microphone.. Set up time in only 5 minutes.
Bought this at my local Best Buy store 2 weeks ago. Read all the reviews on it and decided that for $30.00 dollars cheaper than Logitech (who I also think has great products) I'd give it a try. Very easy set up with CD disk. Up and running in 5 minutes. Works terrific with Skype. All videos are very clear. Microphone I'm told sounds like I'm sitting right next to the person I'm chatting with. I would highly recommend this product.

What's great about it: image quality
What's not so great: occasional image flash/flicker, clip
I bought this because it was the only cam at my BB that claimed to be Mac compatible on the box. Of course, all USB cams are compatible with any computer with a USB connection for the most part, so I assumed that because it specifically said *Mac* on the box that there would be Mac compatible *software* as well. But that is not the case. It is not until you get into the box that it says, "Oh, by the way, this software is only compatible with Windows XP/Vista. Sucker!" So all I have is an unintelligent webcam, which is fine if that is all you want. But I would like more advanced software features. It works fine otherwise, except for some occasional image flashing and flickering. It will be going back to the store, however. Thanks, Rocketfish, for the deceptive information on the box and wasting my time. I would recommend it to a Windows user, but not a Mac user.
