What's great about it: Multiplayer Ranks, Searching for Gold, Characters, Level Design
What's not so great: Can get a little boring sometimes

"Battlefield Bad Company is not the same as the other Battlefield games on the computer but its near close with this game. I thought this game was pretty fun since the single player ur a new recruit with the bad company and u go around searching for gold and u can find collectable weapons which is cool. Online is really fun to since u got like 10 maps and only 1 of them wasnt that great in my opinion. Theres only 2 game modes...which is a shortage but u really dont notice when ur having fun. Only problem i had was online u could only talk to the people in ur squad which is around 1-3 other people and the other people on ur team can't hear u

All in all its a great game even if ur not really a FPS player u will enjoy this game."

What's great about it: Great Graphics, Fun and witty Banter, fun concept
What's not so great: Only one multiplayer Mode, is relatively difficult on the medium setting

"Videogames all have their strengths and weaknesses, and on occasion they are the same thing.

With Battlefield: Bad Company this is the story line. It is great in single player. you are a memeber of the 222nd Batalion, Baker Company, also known as "Bad Company" because it is where the Army has stuck all the misfits and criminals, it also has the highest mortality rate of any Company in the Army as they are seen as expendable assets.

As the game kicks off you play "New guy" since the squad decides that you aren't going to live long enough to learn your name, and then the truck you are riding in explodes. The game starts with a bang, literally, and you are off and running on a plot that includes Russians, and Mercenaries, and Gold, gold, gold!

The story is great, and is engaging, and the graphics look sharp. The weapons from the same kit seem to have little difference other than cosmetic.

On the possitive side you have been issued an auto injecter that allows you to coninually heal yourself from any status back to full health, and is infinite use barring the small recharge time. It was a welcome addition to the FPS genre, heck Master Chief has a shield so why not?

The multiplay is solid, and if you are playing ranked matches has a Call of Duty 4 like rank advancement system that gives you access to better weapons. The B:BC Gold edition also gives you access to one weapon per kit that you would not be able to access until rank 25 otherwise. As with CoD4 the rannk advancement is given out with Experience Points. You gain expereince by causing mayhem, killing the opposite team and achieving objectives.

No here is where the great storyling in Singleplayer becomes a hinderance to the game.

It only has one multiplayer mode, a variant of Domination. There are 8 crates of gold the defenders are trying to protect, and the attackers have a limited number of respawns in which to achive the objective of blowing them all up. The number of respawns if nebulous because it is represented with a health bar, not a number as in Star Wars Battlefront.

It is also frustrating that as soon as the last spawn is taken that's the end of the game all the other attackers don;t get their last ups as it were. A player will be attacking a crate and then all of a sudden "Defender's have Won" flashes up. This has lead to several games that were frustrating, because you do get a minor resawn bonus for killing a crate and some times the craes will be near destruction when the defenders win.

And this is the only mode for multiplayer, so if Attacker/defender Domination style games where you switch sides on the ame map and then move on to the next map isn't you cup of tea, you might want to avoid the game.

The game is great however, it is challenging, and engaging in single play, it is merely a wish that the multiplay have more depth."

Amazing game   07/21/2008
By GameReviews from boston

What's great about it: Everything is Fantastic!
What's not so great: Once you beat the game and decide to play through it again the cut-scenes come up and you cant skip through

"I played battlefield 1942 on PC for a long time and absolutely loved the game. I recently purchased an Xbox 360 from best buy and was trying to decide on what games to purchase. I decided on a few games like Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, GTA 4, and of course wanted to try a brand new release so i bought Bad Company. This Game is amazing. It gives you the freedom to go where you want when you want, explore and drive through whatever although still having the main mission in your mind. Theres many ways to complete each mission, and tons of great cut scenes which are halarious. If you have read up on how everything is destructable, they weren't kidding everything is but not in the fantasy kind of way where u can take a knife and blow up a tank. Its all extremely realistic. ex. a tank can run over trees while a hummer will just crash. I must say that this has been one of my favorite games and i cant wait to get it online due to how amazing the graphics are."

Lots of Fun   07/19/2008
By CrimsonChiron from Carrboro, NC

What's great about it: Great multiplayer mode
What's not so great: Single player campaign is a little short

"So I picked this game up shortly after the release and was completely blown away. The graphics are amazing and the game play is near flawless. There are plenty of awards and achievements in the multi-player aspect for the motivated gamer, but there's no pressure to earn them all if you're a more casual gamer. I thought the single player campaign was a little short, but the achievements for beating the levels on normal and hard difficulties are not stackable, so if you want to earn all of them you have to play through at least twice. If you buy the Gold Edition, you have 5 weapons automatically unlocked for use in the multi-player portion (which would normally have to be unlocked by reaching the highest rank in the game). This title has definitely provided me with a great gaming experience and also has that little bit of comedy attached to it when you need a break from the seriousness of some other video games. I would definitely recommend this to any gamer who enjoys first person shooters."

Very Good Game   07/03/2008
By jdnzookeeper from Dover, DE

What's great about it: Massive Destruction, Awsome Vehicles, Cool Weapons
What's not so great: Slow Gameplay and Freezes on occassion

"This game has a very good feel about it except when you get shot from the gameplay being to slow. There are many walls and vehicles can be demolished by explosives. The weapons are ok to say the least. This game is very good overall except for the times where it freezes on me... So I give it a 4 out of 5 stars..."

What's great about it: Realastic in every way but gore due to the fact that is teen.
What's not so great: NONE AT ALL

"This is the best game to get this year. You will fall in love with it. The single player mode is fantastic and will make you want to play itover and over just for singleplayer now multiplayer is even better and the Battlefield: Bad Company Gold Edition gives you 5 codes for 5 guns for multiplayer wich are real good and not much people online will have these weapons so i would recommend paying the extra 10 bucks. Overall i would rate this game 10 out of 5."

Gold Edition Not Worth The Extra Price   06/24/2008
By PillowPants from Seattle

What's great about it: GREAT game-very faced paced, lots of weapons and vehicles
What's not so great: The unlocks in the gold edition aren't worth it

"I DEFINITELY recommend this game, however, save your money and buy the standard edition.
The unlocks the gold edition aren't good weapons. This edition unlocks the very top scale weapons you would normally be able to choose once you reached the top of the points scale. These weapons are worse than the standard ones you get regardless of points/rank.
If you played the demo none of the unlocks carry forward, nor do your points or rank. I would recommend getting the standard game and just unlocking the weapons you want, because you're pretty much going to have to do that anyway.
Other than that....GET THIS GAME!"

A game that dominates Call of Duty 4   06/21/2008
By Arvingorn from California

What's great about it: Great campaign with a very fast-paced multiplayer for a Console game.
What's not so great: Can't say at the moment. I've only tried the demo

"The demo for Battlefield: Bad Company was incredible. Fans were given the first level of the campaign along with a multiplayer component featuring one level, all the classes, and the new game type, gold rush, where attackers must destroy the defenders' Gold Crates. In my opinion, the best Battlefield game ever!"

By dizz from Delaware

What's great about it: EVERYTHING
What's not so great: NOTHING

"This is by far the best multiplayer online gun fighting game. You have access to helicopters, tanks, humvees, and if i remember correctly in one of the previews a golf cart. Mortar attacks, anti-air guns set up at your base. This is the greatest game to come out since Call of Duty 4. Barnone if you like COD 4 you will die when you own this game. I can't wait for it to be out on June 24, 2008"

Amazing Game   06/09/2008
By SpartanWar from DE

What's great about it: Completely Destructable Environment, Unique Multiplayer Engine, Unique Weapon Sounds, A Must Have for all Gamers.
What's not so great: Demo Has Some Bugs but should be fixed

"I recently bought an Xbox 360 Elite, and I currently own some of the most popular games on the market. (Ie; Gears of War, Halo 3, Rainbow Six Vegas 2,etc). This game is a one of a kind that I have seen including outmatching some PC games that I am familiar with as well. The demo is currently on the Xbox Live Marketplace and contains one level for multiplayer and also has a singleplayer level as well. I will go over each area individually.
Multiplayer:
Multiplayer has matchmaking and typically finds a server right away for you. It allows you to create custom games as well, and is much like the Halo 3 matchmaking system. As you rank up in multiplayer there are unlockable weapons that you gain when you gain rank. You have the choice of which path you wish to unlock first and you can move on from there. The environment is VERY beautiful and is very very destructable. I am talking about for instance you fire an RPG at a roof of a building or even the side of it and where it hits, it will create damage to the building (Ie; creating holes in the walls big enough for you to jump through.) This games engine is amazing and it will be great to see it fully played out.
Singleplayer:
The singleplayer for this Battlefield game is UNLIKE any other battlefield game on the market. It is very action packed and I was surprised by how it played out. I was expecting the typical battlefield singleplayer which is an offline mode of the multiplayer. Wrong. This game follows the path of a group of soldiers and pits you against all odds. It is amazing.
Seeing how this is the demo and not the final release I do not know ALL of the aspects of the game but I can say that ANY Xbox 360 owner who has access to live should definitly
