Fabulous TV12/12/2009

What's great about it: The picture is beautiful and the sound is superior. What's not so great: The base seems a bit unstable, but it hasn't been a problem.
"This is just a great TV. It is so much better than the two previous TV's we have had in this spot that we continue to compliment it. We totally love it. I was afraid that it might tip over in it's high traffic location, but my fears have faded as it stands up well. It would be great on a wall mount, but ours sits on a kitchen counter."

"The set up is extremely simple. you dont need to know anything about electronics to hook it up. The features of this tv are what make it terrific. Its size makes it very portable not to mention the fact that it has a handle. I have my Xbox 360, Wii, cable box, and computer hooked up to it all at the same time. The picture and sound has never posed a problem. Another little othin i liked ws its sleep timer. Most tvs have a sleep timer for 30mins 60 mins or 120 mins, but this tv also has 15 and 45 min"

What's great about it: QAM tuner delivers unencrypted HDTV cable broadcast for local channels. What's not so great: Only has one HDMI connection.
"I've been looking for a small flat panel, lcd, monitor that could used as a bedroom HDTV and also function as a decent computer monitor.
However, many other models; i.e. SAMSUNG T220HD, T240HD, T260HD are very attractive with the (touch of color) bezel and have higher resolutions and an overall sharper picture. But, I might add the SAMSUNG models mentioned above do not have a QAM tuner which is important when watching local, major network and publicr television channels in HD without the use of the cable provider's optional, set-top box.

Built-in ATSC/NTSC tuner with QAM delivers over-the-air digital TV and unencrypted HDTV broadcast signals, as well as traditional analog TV broadcasts.
Remember a QAM Digital cable tuner is an important feature and should not be overlooked when making your final selection.

"This television has some great features and some which are not-so-great.
THE GOOD:
Construction: This TV is sturdy - about 5 lbs heavier than competing 19 inch LCD TVs. That's a plus - this is the third 19 inch LCD I have purchased (having returned the other two) and this is, far and away, the best built 19" on the market. Less cheap plastic.
Sound: The sound quality is outstanding. Many 19" LCDs have audio with a "tinny" quality. The speakers on this TV blow away the competition, hands down. You will not confuse this with a Bose home theater system, but the sound is surprisingly good.
THE O.K:
Picture: As a general rule, the smaller the LCD, the less of a difference HD makes. So, the picture on any 19" 720p model will be far less stunning that what you'd see on a 40" 1080p. That said, the picture on the Sony Bravia 19" is between decent and good. The picture on the Samsung LN19A450 19" is noticeably better. However, the Samsung is full of cheap plastic and the sound is tinny. Other than the Samsung, I think the picture on the 19" Sony Bravia is at least equal to any other 19" on the market
THE BAD:
Aesthetics: This is one ugly little TV. The front panel is black and the sides and back are white (or, in the alternate versions, the front panel is white and the side and back are a gaudy color such as pink, orange or lime green). The two tones are awful and distracting. Furthermore, the TV has an ugly shopping-bag-like handle that protrudes from the back of the TV and is visible while watching the television. Also, the base of the TV is not a pedestal like other models. It resembles the back of a picture frame. This unit will never win any beauty contests. I seriously wonder what the people at Sony were thinking when they came up with this. I think this is my biggest gripe with the TV.
Some reviewers have complained about the base of the TV. If that is your only concern, do not let the base prevent you from buying the TV. It is sturdy and I have no fears that my TV will fall over - either forward or backward.
Finally, I also own 32" and 40" Sony Bravias and, quality-wise, I think Sony TVs stand out among the competition. That said, the 19" version has its flaws. However, Sonys TVs are reliable and the sound on this little TV is great. 3 1/2 stars."

"Although this TV is a bit pricey, it is the best 19" LCD out there on the market. The picture is exceptionally good. HD is amazing. Even analog cable looks clear. The image is very bright, colorful, and sharp. The only down-side is that it is an LCD and for that reason the viewing angle is not as great as traditional tube TV's or plasma. However, this TV is very sleek and light weight and is still viewable from a wide range of angles. The sound is the best out there on a 19" LCD. It's not great, but if you wanted to, you could hook up an external speaker system via the audio output. The TV is very neat looking as it has a modern and innovative design. The remote is also very user friendly. There are numerous input jacks on the back and side of the TV to provide for good connectivity. The HD Tuner is also very nice...it is extremely accurate and quick at changing channels. The on-screen user interface is also very attractive. You can always expect the best from Sony. I would definetly recommend this product."
