Don't ever buy an Electrolux appliance! Save yourself the pain! Let me explain:
A little over three years ago (mid 2008) my wife and I purchased a full kitchen appliance set and chose the Electrolux brand from Best Buy. This included a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and stove. We were initially thrilled with our new stainless steel appliances; however, this was short lived excitement. Within a few months we started having issues with our appliances, primarily the refrigerator. Fortunately we purchased an extended warranty through Best Buy. The primary issue with our new Electrolux refrigerator has been the evaporator fan, although we also had issues with the ice maker. Anyone viewing our service history would be completely surprised at the number of issues we have had with these appliances. Believe me, I know you would because every Geek Squad customer service person is when we call for service and repair on these appliances and they look at our service history. They actually feel sorry for us and are very apologetic as are the Geek Squad service technicians we’ve come to know on a first name basis due to the numerous calls they’ve made to our home.
Back to the refrigerator nightmare, we’ve had so many issues, including the evaporator fan failing four times on the first unit, that we finally achieved Best Buy’s “No-Lemon” status. This is after several times coming home to a warm refrigerator full of spoiled food. Best Buy then replaced the refrigerator which was only two years old at the time. My wife and I hoped that we truly had a “lemon” and that we would no longer have this problem. Sadly this is not true.
Our brand new “replacement” Electrolux refrigerator #same model #) has been equally problematic. We’ve had it for about one year now and we have just had a third failure of the evaporator fan. We are now at day number 8 with no working refrigerator in our home. As stated before, we have had this problem many times before and it is never fun going without a refrigerator in a home. It’s a MAJOR inconvenience and we lose food every time. Try it once and see how fun it is; and we’ve now had to deal with this seven time over the last three years!
Best Buy has agreed to to replace this latest refrigerator and we will NOT be replacing it with an Electrolux! Please learn from our experience, don't buy Electrolux! Also want to point out that Best Buy has taken care of us though all this. Kudos to the Geek Squad!

What's great about it: Exterior looks great.
What's not so great: malfunctioning interior parts
Purchased unit in April of 2010. Worked fine for six months then the problems started. Unit freezes food in the produce and fruit bins. We have had technicians out six times to address the same problem. Wish I could be dancing around the kitchen like Kelly Ripan, but instead I am kicking myself for buying this unit.

What's not so great: frozen water line problem
bought this fridge less than 2.5 yrs ago, frozen water lines for no apparent reason every 6-7 months.....2 freezer door replacements, still same problem....saw other ppl reviews on sears website with same exact problem....even with new replacement fridge water line still freezes....manufacturer defect which seemingly cannot be resolved? looks great, works great if you don't need to use the water function.....ice comes out rather quickly as well - impossible not to make a mess when using ice dispenser....

I love this refrigerator, and am sorry to hear that some folks have had trouble with it. I bought mine in late 2006, so I've had some time to live with it. We've had no trouble with anything but the ice-maker. It's true, ice can get way too vigorous. It over-dispenses. We had repair come out twice for issues with the ice-maker. But that's in 3 years, and the thing DID make ice, and dispensed it. I feel you should always get a warranty with a refrigerator, I've never had one that didn't need some sort of service, and I've had every basic brand out there. The water out of the filtration is DELICIOUS!
There were no other comparable units that I found in this price range with solid stainless steel cladding, the slick features (including blue night light), glass shelves (most adjusable) and great water filtration. It's not perfect, but for what it costs, I feel it is a good value.
I would recommend this to a friend!

after purchasing this unit within a week 10 lights came on the control panel and would not go off including power fail, control lock, ice cubes, water, crushed ice, water filter replace, air filter replace, fast freeze, high temp, control lock, mute sounds, yeah pretty great, on top of all this the thing spits ice out way too fast and some ends up on the floor no matter what you do, the water dispenser drips, and the fridge is very noisy compared to other fridges, on top of all this electrolux sent me a new one through best buy everything was going fine until another week had past and everything happened all over again, 2 fridges in 2 weeks come on i didn't pay 2300 for that, so please take this into consideration when thinking about purchasing this fridge, all of our other electrolux appliances (oven, dishwasher, microwave) work fine (for now)

The unit is very stylish in appearance. The compressor has a very high noise level compared to other refrigerators we have owned. The water dispenser constantly drips water and the ice maker throws ice cubes and crushed ice out at such a high rate that there is no way you can prevent ice from hitting the floor. Think twice about buying this unit.
