What's great about it: Updated roster, new types of matches, graphics were cleaned up a bit What's not so great: Same awkward movement for all the wrestlers.
"So I bought Smackdown vs Raw 2009 with hopes that there was going to be something new to be dazzled about. It's almost the same feel to the 2008 release! The graphics during gameplay have been cleaned up. The wrestlers are not as shiny as they were in the past. The options of gameplay are what seems to be a drag. There is a Career Mode and The Road to Wrestlemania campaign. The only drawback is that specific storylines are only geared to a handful of wrestlers! The tag team storyline is limited to Batista and Rey Mysterio (what!?). The game overall has been oversimplified to the point where you can just throw in your Finisher at any given moment with no problem at all. Sometimes, your Finisher doesn't finish your opponent at all! After sizing a wrestler up for a good amount of time and then applying your Finisher, I have found myself using Triple H's Pedigree 4 times (all this while the opponent's body status is mainly all in the red) and there was still a kickout! I'm a huge WWF... I mean... WWE fan but some improvement in regards to gameplay in 2009 was rather trivial and small. Overall, it's a mediocre improvement to 2008."

What's great about it: Create a Finisher, Enhanced tag team action, updated roster. What's not so great: Create a finisher is limited to only standing.
"I have been waiting for this release for a very long time. I can not believe how long it took to implement an enhanced tag team formula, but I can not wait to try it out. I read that even though the create a finisher supposed to give the game a new feel, it is made to where the moves have to be from the standing face to face position. I have really know problem with this considering how many animations there are to choose from (500). This game has finally brought together everything that I love about wrestling. Tag matches with blind tags. Co-op story mode. Create a finisher. The only question is how are they going to top themselves next year. Come November, one reccomendation. BUY IT, IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE."
