I'm about 12 miles from my digital TV towers and wanted to upgrade from UHF only to UHF/VHF since two of my locals are now on VHF. I was using a plain stick antenna and got every channel in UHF, but this thing got nothing in either band. I tried orienting it every which way and still nothing. I actually resolved my issue by pulling the antenna off an old tube TV that was in my alley. Got every channel, no problems. This thing looks good, but isn't worth the money.
What's great about it: No assembly, just one big panel
What's not so great: Doesn't improve your reception, in fact doesn't get anything...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought for an analog TV (Zenith 32") I don't use to often. Live about 2 miles from a major transmission tower and tried a Radio Shack inexpensive antenae which brought in a good number of channels but some I had been receiving were not coming in so I tried this one. It actually did not increase channel reception or picture so I stayed with the Radio Shack. I was going to return it but a friend had not set up a converter box for her small screen TV ( 13" Emerson ) so I set up her box and used this antenae just to see if it would work. On this set the reception and picture was fantastic with this antenae. I was very impressed. This home is about 5 miles from the major tower and has some terrain issues inbetween so I thought this was remarkable. I would certainly recommend this antenae but in seems to depend on the set as much as the location. Try it as the high end and also try the less expensive one to see which works best with your set and location. I plan on testing the Apex amplified one next and will do a review of it as well.
What's great about it: Reception...with a twist
What's not so great: Expensive

the reason why most people still cannot pick up many channels is because the televison stations have not fully transition their broadcasting to digital until june 12
What's great about it: picks up better signals than bunny ears antenna...fits anywhere
What's not so great: nothing

I live about 40 miles from Chicago and with this antenna cannot get anything more than the 4 different "flavors" for the local PBS station, NBC and Fox. My neighbor gets ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and several more. I borrowed his atnenna and it pulls in all of his stations and 4 more! I'm returning this product to Best Buy...
What's great about it: has nice profile - low and sleek
What's not so great: reception is terrible

This antenna is a piece of plastic and USELESS. Do not buy this antenna folks it doesn`t work. I changed locations, turn it around, point it to South North East West, UP or DOWN ,point it up, point it down and still NOTHING. The worst antenna i`ve ever bought. I returned it to BEST BUY and use my regular rabbit antenna that i bought for $6 .
What's great about it: First thing i noticed was it is light, flat and looks very easy to use
What's not so great: This antenna doesn`t work. Do not BUY! Nothing special to it.

Well its good for LCD TVs at 720p such as my Samsung 32 inch LCD TV. Its a 3 series 330. Works well I get all my local channels (Fox, Nbc, Abc, cbs, etc.) all in HD. It takes a second to hook up and is very durable. Don't move Antenna while TV is on other while the screen gets all messy. I mean also the price $60! I mean common would it hurt to make this $20 RCA! I mean the DTV is now coming in June wouldn't it be good for everyone to have 480i SDTV picture? Also the cord comes tied up in the box and when you unravel it, it still is in a weird form hard to describe which messes with the placement of this box. Also do not set anything on top of this. Set this on the very top of everything. Its good it works and you can tell comcast no more $5 for HD or locals. So in 12 months you get your investment back if you have cable or satellite. In your face comcast and DirecTV you should give us HD locals free since we pay $70-$100 a month for you anyways!
What's great about it: Simple connection (coaxial), Good picture up to 1080p
What's not so great: Too expensive, Cord is long but messy
I would recommend this to a friend!

Originally I had this setting on top of my television and I was receiving a good signal , but I knew there were several more stations available (check antennaweb_org click on choose and antenna to see what stations are available to your location.) I have this attached to a Zenith DTT901 convertor box going to a 1992 Sony television.
So I added a 10' coax extension to get the antenna in font of a large window in my apartment. I now receive 14 more stations (for a total of 31) 40 to 50 miles away.
I was a little unsure if this was going to work well for me when I realized it was not amplified. I am very pleased with this purchase.
What's great about it: Dual band automatic; Clean design; Excellent reception without to much work
What's not so great: Not amplified
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have this antenna connected to a Haier 7" LCD digital TV (very popular right now). I've tried a few other antennas, and this one is by far the best in terms of reception. I actually have the antenna tucked away on the floor between a bed headboard and a wall, where you wouldn't expect it to pick up many channels, but right now it's picking up about 30 (I'd say about an 8 analog / 22 digital split), and they're all coming in very well. No other antenna could pick up more than about 15 channels, several coming in poorly or not at all.
I'm no expert in this field so I can't say whether your experience would be worse where you live (I'm in the suburbs), but I can recommend that you at least give it a shot.
What's great about it: Easy to set up, pulls in a lot of channels
What's not so great: None I can think of right now
I would recommend this to a friend!

Looked like this would work for suburbs in the store, but signal too weak or poorly shield cable cause sound reception pause and image to pixelate and stop. Analog signal images had snow, but no interruption. Might work with amp, but not if cheap coax is the cause. Looks like a $20 to $30 antenna (circuit board, coax and plastic housing plus u shape bar to stand it up). This one goes back to the store.
Previous RCA 10" TV with single extending pole (one half rabbit ears) did about as well as RCA ANT1500 hooked up to 19" HDTV.
What's great about it: Easy connection, can place in Kitchen upper cabinet
What's not so great: Built in coax, can not upgrade to RG6. Signal drops
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have a cheaper RCA ant that I paid $20 for and it picks up stations better than this ant. Don't waste your time or money, you can get better ant for less money. I am returning this ant today and will try another one.
My rating is compaired to my current ant which I would so far rate 3 stars overall.

What's not so great: probably better with amplification

It was extremely easy to set up. As soon as I connected it to the Dtv box and turned the box onto set up, it picked up 38 channels right away.
I was having a problem with the rabbit ears picking up ABC and WNET (PBS), and this antenna picked up both right away.
Only problem is PBS disappears sometimes so I do have to reposition the antenna at times.
Other than that, GREAT ANTENNA! Picked up 13 more channels than RCA1450 that I bought in March.
What's great about it: Picks up channels right away...no having to mess around too much to get reception
What's not so great: Just missing 1 channel I wanted...channel 13
I would recommend this to a friend!

The compact design enables placement of unit to be used in tight spaces. The unit comes in white, which could be painted to match decor. My space requirements would not allow a convention dipole antenna to be extended or positioned for best digital reception. Once this unit is placed for best reception all digital channels over air came in perfectly.I was surprised that a antenna the size of spiral bound note book could have such great performance. This unit is placed in a location that is 12-15 miles from most stations transmission.
What's great about it: Space saver
What's not so great: Pricey

Not sure why this antenna doesn't get better reviews from others but this antenna works absolutely PERFECT on my Sharp Aquos tv. I get all the channels I want (2.1, 4.1-4.4, 5.1, 7.1-7.3, 9.1, 11.1, and 31.1) except for the PBS ones. Not sure why they are hard to get. Now I only use the antenna to access digital channels so what little I've seen on the VHF stations you are probably better with another antenna. But if digital HDTV is what you want then this is perfect for you!
TIP: I know the box says you can lay this puppy flat on a shelf but I found it works best if you hang it on the wall (Mine is behind the Sharp LCD HDTV) as high as you can without it blocking anything. Mine is set up about 6 1/2 feet off the floor on my wall and that gets me perfect reception (Minus PBS stations). Now I know this antenna may seem pricy but you really do get the best reception for digital TV, a item that blends into the room, and something that does not require to be plugged in like some other DTV antennas do to get powered reception. That should be a nice "green" factor.
What's great about it: Excellent reception; compact design, easy to install, eaiser to use, does not need to be plugged into electrical source
What's not so great: None.

We bought the RCA flat panel antenna at the same time we bought a second digital converter box. We have an older Phillips amplified antenna that we use on the main TV. It works pretty well, but does not bring in all the channels we could get.
The RCA antenna worked pretty well on analog signals, but did not bring in as many digital channels as the older Phillips antenna. We only got two digital signals for channels we would watch, whereas with the Phillips antenna we get 12. For the two digital channels this did bring in, I could only get one at a time. I had to move the antenna to a completely different location to get the second signal.
What's great about it: It looks nice
What's not so great: It didn't work.

I've two HDTVs; one in living & another in ma bedroom. SO, to start - all I had was just one HDTV antenna (from RCA as well but base model which cost me @ $10 from Best Buy earlier) which I tried to work in for ma bedroom TV but due to too many walls and corner place that portable "V" shape antenna didn't seem to work at it's fullest.
But this one did it for me (except it's price!) and I threw the old one out in the living room, which like usual worked 100%
What's great about it: Instant reception boost!
What's not so great: Price :-(
