What's great about it: color was awesome once calibrated.
What's not so great: bad backlight bleed
"samsung contracts out on their panels and i tried 2 different ones and both had bad backlight bleed. the monitor on display looks great but all the ones in the store were from the same lower quality manufacturer. very disappointed in samsung and don't think i'll chance buying a monitor from them again"

Good monitor but requires patience/luck of draw!

What's great about it: Great screen/color!!
What's not so great: You have to work to find one that doesn't have blacklight bleeding issues.
"Samsung uses different manufacturers for its t220 and other model monitor screens. It has a secret menu that helps you to determine where and who made it. I bought three and had to return two because of backlight bleeding issues. Top and bottom of the monitor had severe bleeding and there was a patch in the middle also of one of the monitors. Luckily, I found a manager who agreed to open the boxes before I exchanged them. They were excellent.
All three monitors that I have now are beautiful. They were also made by Samsung itself, not contracted out. The other two monitors that I had to exchange out did not compare in quality.
The base for this monitor isn't sturdy enough to stop the monitor from wiggling so I might just prop it. But honestly, it never bothered me until I saw others complaining about it - sigh.
So, in summary, this is a great monitor but you run the risk of getting one that has bad backlight bleeding issues - beware. Sadly, I saw this with a Dell and an LG model too and my old Samsung 930b never had the slightest hint of this problem."

What's great about it: Monitor is a nice size
What's not so great: Monitor is hard to set up video with an older computer and is very attractive to dust and pet hair.
"To be fair, I have an old computer. I can't set the monitor up fully until I spend money for this new computer.
I can tell you that the size is really nice.
The set up of brightness, contrast,etc. is hard at this point, since I can not plug in the white cable. I suppose that would make a big difference.
Lesson in all of this, if you buy an updated monitor, have a computer that can handle the newer technology."

Horrible backlight bleeding

What's great about it: Great looking picture, nice colors.
What's not so great: Terrible backlight bleeding - white light leaks in from the edges onto the screen. Hard to navigate menu buttons.
"I just went through 2 of them, both with horrible backlight bleeding on the edges. The first one had light leaking in from the top and bottom and the 2nd had it on all sides. Some might say I'm picky but I've seen a lot of LCD monitors for a lot cheaper and never experienced this before. The people in the store think I'm crazy but for those who have seen it hooked up to my computer it is immediately obvious & distracting. Am in the process of exchanging the 2nd one through Samsung but am not very hopeful. Defective product, not buying Samsung again."

What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Very poor colors
"I purchased this monitor because it looked good in the store. When I got home, however, the whole screen was washed out and the colors were not event close to correct. Text is hard to read and pictures look awful. Blues look like purple reds look like magenta. Also, adjustment buttons are on the side which make it difficult to find the right button. I plan to return it and purchase something else."

What's great about it: Picture, response time, contrast, price, sleek look
What's not so great: none
"Monitor was easy to setup. came with analog and dvi cables which was nice.
Picture looks awesome and the monitor itself is pretty sleek. Also, the on-button is pretty cool - its not really a button, just a spot on the monitor that senses a touch that turns it on.
For home office work monitor is great, have tried a few older games and they look good as well."

"Overall I am very pleased with this product. I purchased an HP 20" just prior to this one and took it back. I didn’t like the gloss screen (although it looked sharp) because any backlight at all made it difficult to see. This Samsung has the nice glossy bezel but the screen is easy to read. The Samsung also has better dimensions and it’s a little bigger than the HP I bought. It’s taller as well and doesn’t have that narrow widescreen look. I don’t think I’d want anything bigger. Pictures and videos look fantastic on this as well. Got it on sale which makes it even better!!"

Great Monitor -one complaint

What's great about it: Awesome Picture and Value
What's not so great: Cannot calibrate color properly, dust magnet
"I really like this monitor and think that the value is superb. I've always had Samsung monitors and they perform well. I did however try to calibrate this monitor for my work in PhotoShop and have learned online and through trying that it is impossible. The settings have only a limited range and therefore it is impossible to get a true color picture that jives with PS or anyother photo application. I would have hoped that with this great monitor Samsung would have done a better job with this aspect.
Since I'm picky I should also mention that this monitor with it's shiny lacquer finish attracks dust like a magnet. I'm always wiping it clean, which is kind of annoying."

"Really great image quality. Lots of space to do like two programs at once. Had the monitor for a couple of months now and now problems whatsoever. The power button isn't really a button, but a flat touch thing. Took a little while to get use that button."

Terrible Screen

What's great about it: Bright picture great for movies, games, pictures
What's not so great: Bright picture, terrible blacks for text, no height adjustment
"Bought this based on the reviews here. All I know is that the people who use it must never look at text documents or do any spreadsheets because no amount of adjustment made text comfortable to read. And what's the point of getting a big screen if you have to in turn make all the text twice as big in order to read it? And what's the deal with no height adjustment?
After 6 hours of using this for work on documents and spreadsheets and trying to make adjustments, I decided to take this back.
I exchanged it for the HP w2207h. Not THAT'S A GREAT SCREEN! Text is CRYSTAL CLEAR with the HP. PLUS, the HP actually has height adjustment. I could really care less about the whole 90 degree rotating feature though and the built in speakers of the HP are a complete joke."
