These are awesome. I have one directv box on a 3 way splitter in the house and I'm able to operate all 3 tv's perfectly. 5 Star item.
What's great about it: RF FREQUENCY

Easy to use same as the one you get from Directv. Love the grip of the remote. Lights up when use in the dark.

Original remote from DirectV bit the dust (dog chewed on it). Bought this as a replacement (DVR). Works just like the original except this one lights up. Works perfectly.
What's great about it: Same as orginal remote from DirectV as far as I can tell.

Since we switch to Direct TV, the remote doesn't work through the walls. This remote did exactly what it said it would do.

I have had this remote for 4 months and am fed up with it. At first it was nice being able to keep the DVR box behind a closed door. But it really isn't worth using because there is too much delay in between the time the button is pressed and the time it appears on the screen. It is very frustrating when you don't know if the button was pressed or not, then you press it again and it was just delayed so your input is screwed up and you have to start over with the button presses. It seemed as if the DVR was just slow but when I changed back to the IR remote, there was no delay and no problems. I even changed batteries thinking that might help, but nothing can help this dog. It has been banished to the old remotes bin forever! A good idea, but needs reworking, perhaps a little more powerful signal? If it can be improved, I might try another one.
What's great about it: RF is convenient
What's not so great: Slow and unresponsive
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

if you want to watch a dvd, you have to turn on the tv/directv button, then switch it to av1,and turn on the dvd player,then if you have a receiver,press av2,
with logitech, you press dvd,and the remote turns on all componets at the same time.

I have 3 DirecTV HD Receivers and none of worked with this remote in RF mode. I followed the directions (multiple times) on all 3 of my HD receivers (multiple times) and could not get it to work.
DirecTV,
I love most of your products and services but in my opinion you REALLY BLEW IT with this one.
Here's some advice:
1. Create a LIST of receivers which will AND will not work with this remote in RF mode. Publish the list with the product.
Don't simple say "Not all DIRECTV Receivers are RF-capable" on page 12.
That is a complete lazy cop out. Throw us a bone here ! This list should take you about 20 minutes.

2. Create a list of those receievers which ARE RF capable which require an external antenna and those that do not. Another cop out.
The technical writers of this product's documentation must be government or union employees.
What's not so great: NO list of compatible receivers for RF mode

I just had my 50" panasonic plasma mounted, i knew i wanted to hide all of my components in a near by closet. Only problem how would i control my directv HDDVR reciever. i came across this remote on the BB website. & went to my local BB & picked one. I was gonna make sure i kept up with the reciept if it didnt work. Got it home programmed it which was simple & easy. what do you know it works like a charm. I think the price could be a lil bit cheaper. but then again compared to the harmony remote i was looking at this is a steal. so yes its well worth the money. so i have totally clean install now. only thing you see is the plasma and surround sound speakers. all componets hidden & problem solved.
What's great about it: well made product for the money

I have got to say short of upgrading completely to a RF based Harmony remote. This remote is excellent. I've hated where I was forced to keep my directv box for some time now. It's such an eye sore, however I do not wish to spend so much for a harmony remote just to hide the direct box. I stumbled across this RF Direct TV remote and figured I would give it a try.
I have got to say it works amazing. I literally put the box under a cabinet far out of eye sight and the remote works flawlessly, in fact it speeds up the response time of the receiver. I even used the remote from another room and had no problems at all. I love this remote.
The light-up feature of this remote is also nice for late night when i can't tell which button is which. I would recommend this remote to anyone. It is definitely worth the money. Just make sure your receiver has the ability to use an RF based signal first.
What's great about it: Everything is extremely simple.
What's not so great: Nothing.
I would recommend this to a friend!
