This over the range microwave does everything. It's great and I just remodeled my Mom's kitchen and it saves so much counter space.. I love it!
What's great about it: Easy to install, Looks wonderful, Easy to operate
What's not so great: Found nothing wrong with it

First thing to say, be sure you're reading reviews for the right model: this is a review of the 1,100 watt, 2.0 cu.ft. LMV2083SW. Some complaints about the smaller model might not apply to this one.
The Good:
1. Cooks well with plenty of useful settings such as one-touch sensor cooking, 'soften', and 'hold warm', which keeps food hot after you've cooked it
2. Intuitive touchpanel; I never find myself hunting for functions or pushing too many buttons for something simple
3. An 'EZ On' 30 second button, together with up and down arrows that add or subtract 10 seconds to the cook time
4. Scrolling readout under the timer tells you what is happening
5. Hidden exhaust vent gives the front a clean look
6. Some reviews say it doesn't have a kitchen timer; seems this has been updated--mine DOES have a timer, and it keeps running even if you cook something at the same time (the photo on Best Buy doesn't show a timer button so this must be new)

The Bad:
Nothing worth mentioning! But if you want to be picky...
1. The door clunks a little on closing, which my wife said sounds kinda cheap
2. The fan does have 5 settings (which is nice), but there's a big jump between settings 1 and 2; settings 2-5 are almost identical
3. I wouldn't say it's loud, but it's not whisper-quiet either. It hums pretty loudly for a second when you first turn it on. But it IS 1,100 watts after all

We replaced an old GE spacemaker with this new LG, and it's a real upgrade. It's probably not as fancy as some upper-end models, but for the price it does all we could ask and more. I thought about a GE at first, but was wary of reliability issues.
Installation was relatively easy for me (an average-ability do-it-yourselfer) with a little help from my wife lifting it in place. Took less than an hour start to finish.
What's great about it: Cooks well, intuitive touchpanel, good features
What's not so great: Nothing worth complaining about

Even though this was a replacement over the range microwave, installation was easy. This microwave runs so quiet, not like my old one. Really like the clean front without the top exhaust grill, it will be so much easier to keep clean. The exhaust fan is a little loud. So far, very pleased with this microwave.
What's great about it: Very quiet when running
What's not so great: Does not have a built in kitchen timer
I would recommend this to a friend!

I saw other reviews identifying reliability and ignored them because I have other LG products and wanted my appliances to match. I hope my LG stove and LG dishwasher have better luck.

I've had this now about 6 mo. My first microwave in a new home burned out after only 2 yrs. So far, I absolutely love this microwave! It does all the little things that make a difference like melting butter and softening ice cream. I love all the added features this has. I don't have to watch over my food while cooking, the sensor unit on this does a perfect job. The 5 speed fan is great and fairly quiet. There are so many options on this. I highly recommend buying this product! Matter of fact, I just bought a rental house and am going to install this very same product in it.
What's great about it: Has so many great features, melts butter and ice cream for one; popcorn cooks perfectly
What's not so great: None
I would recommend this to a friend!

This LG was the third Microwave I have purchased in my adult life. The first Micowave lasted 15 years. It was still working when I donated it. I replaced it becacuse I purchased a new home that came with a new GE microwave. The GE microwave lasted 13 years. The GE was replaced becuase my 16 year old son broke the door when he slammed it shut. Otherwise it was still working. The LG was purchased in Late Decmeber 07. The Magnetron tube stopped working in early July 08. Only six months of service. LG fixed it under the warranty a week later. However, I would never buy this brand again. Chances are if the tube broke something else will as well. Look elsewhere.
What's great about it: Disappointed.
What's not so great: Broke after 6 months
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
