What's great about it: Picture, Price, and Features
What's not so great: Just a little thicker than LCD's and Plasmas
I just had this tv shipped by Bestbuy recently and the service was great. They brought it in, hooked it up and made sure everything was good before they left. All for free. I have my laptop hooked up to it as we speak, typing this review, set at 1900x1200 via HDMI and it looks great, games look great and by next week should have the Nvidia 3D set up, I can't wait. I also have me, old school, HD-DVD player hooked up and wow, awesome. Xbox 360 looks excellent too. No complaints yet.

What's great about it: Lightweight, good color, lots of ports
What's not so great: too big for my apartment?
After shopping around for awhile i bought a 42 plasma for my place... great TV no issues... but then this one caught my eye 60in for 800? well i bought from tigerdirect site unseen and hoped for the best... by gosh when it arrived i was worried about it being projection... not a slight difference from any lcd or plasma... this TV is amazing... i have no idea about the sound as i hooked up my bose system right away... movies are crisp even in 480 >.<... only downside like i said it feels too big for my small apartment

What's great about it: Picture Quality
Bought mine on cyber monday for 999.00.Sold my 10 year old projection tv for 250.00.Do the math and I couldn't have made a cheaper upgrade on a hd tv that in my view, has a better picture than the plasma and lcd tvs out there.PS3 games are crystal clear and bluray movies are even better. If you want a tv you can count the blades of grass watching golf or being able to see the faces in the stands at a football game this TV is for you.The 1080i channels are very addicting and my local news station broadcast in720i so im very sold on this TV.Try to get one for around $1000.00 and you will be happy to. O,and Best Buy gave me free delivery too!!!!.

The price could not have better on this TV ($999.00). I upgraded to this TV from a 7 year old Panasonic HDTV, so the difference is night and day, it blows the old TV away. So far I could not be happier with the performance of this television and would recommend it to anyone who is on a budget.

After this last breakdown( 3rd time in a year ) the service tech said: Not another Mitsubishi, we have nothing but trouble with these sets. So here I am again without my TV for another 10- 14 days as the chassis goes to the shop.

What's great about it: Size, Quality and Price are unmatched...
What's not so great: 60Hz verses 120Hz of some higher end TV's...
I feel very lucky to get this TV for $999.99 as it was for last black friday and thought I would never see it that cheap again. I was wrong and very pleased to have purchased this TV. The size is amazing considering I upgraded from a 36" tube antique and the quality is amazing. HD and BlueRay looking amazing and some non-HD channels look a bit grainy but to take any normal channel and blow it up 60", you will see imperfections. I read a lot of reviews before buying this TV and the poor audio was most commonly brought up, I am not sure what others are used to for audio but I find the audio great with this TV. It sounds great and does the job just fine and if there is anything I am really concerned about audio with, I always have my stereo/surround sound I can turn to in order to really crank it up. The only downfall I have really noticed is that the TV has 60Hz image processing which can lead to a blurry picture when you have fast moving images. But compared to the high end TV that supports the 120Hz, I am willing to deal with it and save the $1,500 to $2,000 extra you would have to spend on the same size TV with 120Hz image processing.

What's not so great: As you'd suspect audio is WEAK
I bought this because I wanted a larger screen. I was repositioning a 40" Sony XBR. While this sets picture doesn't look quite as good as the Sony LCD, I am very impressed.
The dimensions are pretty manageable for a projection screen of this size. ie its easy to move and not too deep in the back cabinet. we have it in a bedroom seating area and it fits fine on a bedroom chest.
I've been an electronics junkie a few decades and this is the best size/picture combination going for the price .

What's great about it: amazingly great HD picture with great depth of clarity and amazing color
What's not so great: none - everythings great!
I currently have a 56" trashasonic lifi tv that has been in and out of repair since i got it a year ago. So i bought this online at best buy for $995 solely based off of other reviews, and i'm so glad i did!. This 60" dlp is very bright, with amazingly beautiful colors that just "POP" through the screen.....colors so good i've never seen some of these colors. HDTV looks so good, 3D like.........super clarity and depth. Factory settings are very good, but don't be afraid to adjust or tweek some of the color or brightness settings, it's very easy, and very minor adjustments will give you a perfect picture.
Sound on the tv is a little tinney, but okay, just hook your tv to an external speaker setup and you'll be in audio heaven. Lightweight and very handsome cabinet. The remote is easy to use and is back lighted. Also the remote can be used 20+ feet away from tv with a very wide signal path. Oh, replacement bulbs are just $99.00!! This tv to me looks as good as a $3,000 tv. BUY IT!!!! MITSUBISHI you are the best!!!!!!!!!!!

What's great about it: Size, 3 HDMI, Individual Color Tweaking
What's not so great: Color Accuracy, Can't Disable Speakers, Fragile
If you're looking for entry quality high definition then this TV is great for you! If you don't know what entry quality means then you don't need to worry about it either, this TV is great for you!
TV is light for its size (65lb). The plastic build quality means you should be careful moving it but otherwise will hold up just fine. TV screen only has a thin border wrapping it so this TV feels like it was designed to be just one huge screen. Black is always my choice TV color (rather than my thick silver 50" Sony A10 borders) as I don't notice it and the picture stands out clearly.
Picture color accuracy is a bit of a miss on this TV. Brilliant mode offers curious interpretations of how to enhance color in any specific movie scene and often over exposes bright spots in movies. Not a deal breaker for entry level. Individual color adjustments lets you correct this if you choose but for most people, the default brilliant option will look just fine. One other warning is input lag is a tiny bit off. A previously connected Sony Bravia experiences no input lag and surround audio syncs with the screen perfectly. On this Mitsubishi I do notice that there is about a 10ms input lag and audio is slightly unsynced. To the untrained eye, nobody will notice.
Brightness is just fine during the day and spectacular at night. Black levels are adequate for a TV in this price range and I found no light leaks on the sides. No stuck or lazy pixels.
3 HDMI inputs to satisfy most setups. TV has you identify the connected source (cable/xbox/etc) to each specific HDMI and auto-calibrates the connection as well as marks it in the menu so when you switch inputs it says the name of the device (xbox/cable/etc) instead of just video 1, video 2, etc, which is very nice.
Speakers (as expected, 10w?) are noticeably mediocre. But you didn't expect to get a huge high definition TV and skimp on a surround sound did you? That's half the experience, so go get one and this only other blemish on this quality TV is erased. However, do note in the TV's setup you cannot disable the speaker. Odd, but mute or setting volume to 0 does the trick.
Remote is adequate and at least it came with Duracell batteries instead of cheapies. Layout is typical and the TV responds to it from good distance and angle. It is slim and lightweight, no heavy plastic here so don't drop it too many times. Illuminates red.
HD content looks sharp and vibrant for the price range. SD content looks obviously soft but what do you expect when you stretch a measily 720x486 over 60" of TV screen? Even with meager upconversion and average noise compensation, SD pictures are a tad soft. That's ok, SD won't be around much longer.
Connected it to a Sony HD Handycam and a Rebel Xsi and this TV displayed images and video easily over the USB input. All intuitive.
For the money, this TV is hard to beat. I grabbed it at $999 with free shipping and 18 months no interest. I'd do it again.

What's great about it: Great Picture
What's not so great: Sound & Remote
I wanted to spend less than $1,500 on a tv and quickly came to the conclusion that unless I wanted to spend at least twice that - I was going to end up with a projection. I was a little concerned when I decided on the 60" Mitsubishi instead of the plasma - after all, the "craze" these days are the wall hangers. Since my 15 year old 35" was about 24" think already, going down to 14" is flat to me. TV's have come a long way! I am very pleased with this purchase and the picture is awesome and my HD package hasn't even come in yet. I almost missed work from staying up so late watching this thing. In my opinion - unless you have to put a TV on the wall above a fire place - why spend $7500 on a comparable plasma? As for the speakers, they are not good enough for this TV. But really, complaining about the speakers is like complaining about the picture only using rabbit ears. Take the $500 or more dollars you save with this TV and buy a sound system as well. I am a little disappointed with the remote - it's a bit generic but it does the job. Getting this TV reminded me of when I got my first generation surround sound and watched Twister again and was amazed by the sound... every show I turn on now gives me that feeling with the picture. If you are like I was and going back and forth on buying this - let me help you - I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed in this TV.

What's great about it: The HD Picture is great and the color is Phenomenal!! As good or better than a Plasma.
What's not so great: Have to be right in front view to get the full stereo sound effect.
I got this TV because of the price for size ratio. I was a bit leery about getting a projection TV since I heard so many complaints from some of the people that I know that have them. I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HECK THEY ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT!! The picture on this thing is frickin GREAT. Forget about a plasma or an LCD, this TV will please even the most picky sports fan, can you say football, football, football!!!. To appreciate the color and the picture you definitely need the High Def cable, satellite, DVD, or Blue Ray. I'm not trying to get you to buy anything but I tell you, regular TV signal on this is a ok but go Hi Def if you can, so you can see the magic of this TV, but that is with any big screen TV. The kids games systems shows up great on this too. The slower 60Hz refresh will show up a little on fast paced games but nothing you can overlook. I really like mine and definitely recommend getting this or any DLP projection TV cause it is less expensive for the same picture quality of a Plasma or LCD and with this one you get a bigger screen... 60 INCHES!!!!!

Great TV if you are looking for a super large screen for minimal $$. Picture is clear, sound is decent (not a big movie/sound person) for regular TV watching. TV fills the room and cannot wait to host my SB XLIII party! If you don't mind not having a thin TV this is the way to go. I have it on a stand that is 48" wide and it sticks out about 3" on either side. Very light and manueverable. Once again, for around $1000 you can't beat the size at 60!!

What's great about it: Picture, Size, Great price
What's not so great: Nothing so far
This TV is unbelievable. I couldn't believe the picture quality, excellent. My previous TV was an old 27 inch tube television, nothing special, but this 60 incg DLP TV is the best of the best I have seen. The colors are so vibrant. And the angle views on this DLP are great. And for the price you can't beat it for the size you get. I don't even have HD hooked up yet, and it still is an awesome picture, alomst HD appearing. I can't imagine what the picture will be like with HD, probably jaw dropping. Movie viewing has never been so much fun before. It's so pleasing to the eye. This DLP comes close to if not beats plasma for picture quality, but for the price and size this DLP is way better. The sound with this TV is adequate, nothing great, but I got the mirage sound system, which makes it an incredible movie experience, no longer need to go to the movies.

What's great about it: Super Light, Great HD Picture, Plenty of Inputs, Smart Connx, Bright Picture
What's not so great: Smart Connx, Non HD picture
My wife got this for me as a birthday gift (I had already negotiated the price down on the floor model and she snuck in and bought it w/out me knowing :) ). I have it with my PS3, DishNet(soon to be HD), and a Yamaha 390 600W surround. Setup is pretty easy (DO NOT USE DYNEX HDMI's they are worthless) and the smart connection that picks up the powered up device is a bit of a blessing and curse during setup(you cannot "force it to an input w/out a powered device on it) but once done it is very NICE!!! The HD picture is wonderful and even though NCAA '09 is only authored in 720P it looks amazing. I just got the surround sound setup through it and that is very nice as well (wish it had a digital optical out instead of digital cable out). This TV is very very good. I do have to agree with other's that the non HD is not great but that will be remedied in a few days with HD from DISH. Good luck finding one, but if you do and are in the market for a great QUALITY bargain buy this one.

What's great about it: Inputs, Picture Quality, Built in HD Tuner, Low-Lamp Cost
What's not so great: Sound
I purchased this TV for $999 on black friday. It was a steal. I researched alot of DLP TV's but this one stood out from the crowd because of the features and especially the price. I had faith in the TV and I brought it home and installed it in minutes. I connected a Phillips Up-Converting DVD Player, Xbox 360, Comcast cable, and my home theater system. It has enough inputs to connect anything you want. The DVD-Player works magnificently on 1080p via an HDMI cable. The Xbox 360 never looked better. I always play NBA Live 09 on it and looks as if I was in the game. I even get HD channels with regular comcast via a coaxial cable. This TV does not disappoint. All of my friend's mouth dropped when they saw the size of the TV and the clarity it produces on HD Cable, DVD's, and the 360. I can't imagine Blu-Ray. That is next. The only low end part on this TV are the speakers. However, the Home Theater system makes up for it. This TV makes a perfect Home Theater. You won't be disappointed!

What's great about it: Bright Sharp Picture at Wide Angle
What's not so great: Still Waiting ...
I bought the TV online at the $999.00 price. I cannot imagine a better value! The quality of the picture exceeded my expectations. My other TV is a 40" Sony Bravia and I had expected the picture on the new DLP to be nowhere near as clear or bright. Man, was I wrong!
We've been watchng the set for two weeks and we're into the NFL playoffs now. We had friends over yesterday and their comments included Oh My God, Holy C**P, It's better than being at the game etc. We could not be more satisfied.
Sure, the speakers are weak, but who watches a 60" High Def TV without a surround system? Total theater experience!
I would recommend this to a friend!
