I got this refrigerator on sale and scratch and dent for under 1000.00.
It rplaced a 10 year old side-by-side that was leaking. I am very happy with the icemaker in the door so, moore room in the freezer. Lots of room and no problems.

The water and ice in the door leakes when you open the door. The freezer has a shelf that is to small and will not hold anything.

What's great about it: We love the size and the adjustable shelves
What's not so great: Does not make enough ice, runs out of ice
We bought a smaller fridge but decided that we needed a very large capacity and returned it for this fridge (the largest they carried). We have enjoyed this fridge and freezer. There is plenty of room and lots of adjustable shelves to store odd shaped containers. It is quiet except when newly made ice drops which can scare you at night. Plenty of room in the freezer with the two drawers. The only complaint is that the ice maker seems small and wth a large family or guests you can quickly run out of ice. So far (about a month or so) we have enjoyed it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Looks like you spent more money than you did
What's not so great: Should have spent more money than you did on a better quality refrigerator and better company
Bought the unit almost a year ago (so warranty is almost up). 3 months after purchase I came home to a puddle of water under unit. A technician came and replaced the door a week later. 2 months after that I came home to the same problem. The technician ordered a door (takes a week), and while we were waiting on the door, the refrigerator side stopped cooling. LG doesn't have technicians on weekends so they got a local company to do a quick fix until the LG technician could come to my house. The technician showed up and ordered some more parts a few days later. Then the door and the parts came in and he replaced them all a week later. And now 4 months after that I have had the same problem and they want to replace the door again and will not let me return the unit to Best Buy. And the other comments about the ice maker clogging, spitting out large quantities of ice at random times or just no making ice if it so chooses are all spot on.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have had our refrigerator for over one year now. Overall, we like the frig. section. However, the ice maker is the WORSE I have ever had in 25 years! It clogs very easily (one time not putting any ice out, the next it comes out in a gush all over the floor), and it puts out a combo of crushed & cubed ice cubes no matter what setting you have it on! We have had the ice maker repaired twice already (first month, the ice bin cracked & a piece blocked the chute; then 8 months later, the chute door broke & wouldn't shut so the ice melted & water was all over the floor every day). It is very difficult to replace the in-door ice bin once you take it out, also. Looking back I wish I would've stuck with the manufacturer of our previous refrigerator. I would not recommend an LG refrigerator nor purchase another in the future.

What's great about it: Good design, quiet

It's a good looking and quiet refrigerator. I have it for 1 week and so far works fine, but I don't have the ice maker connected yet, to comment how it works. However this ice make is so purely made, we had to call for replacement the same day we received it, without even using it. The whole thing where the control panel is has a big ear balloon inside and when you touch the buttons, this balloon floats, and it makes sound like popping a bubble wrap. The technician was at home today (we had to wait 1 week for him to come), sad the part is defective!! (they should have a quality control before sending it to the costumer), ordered another part (actually the whole ice maker) and now we have to wait another week for it to come and to hope the next one will be fine in appearance and will work as well. I might return the whole thing, as I see Best Buy have exact same refrigerator with exact same specifications (at least what is listed), but different # for almost $300 less. The model is LSC27921ST, and this one is LSC27931ST. Check it out before buying.
One more thing. The diary compartment on the door (the top one) is small and is made of solid white plastic, but the lid. This makes it impossible to see what's inside for women my height 5'5 (pretty average). All what I see is the solid white bottom of it. On other models this high compartment is made of clear plastic. Also there is not specific compartment for eggs, if you care. Other then this inside space is well organized and is big enough for a family of 4.

What's great about it: I like the look of the refrigerator. It is a great looking stainless steel fridge for the price.
What's not so great: The ice maker is not good at all.
Overall I am pleased with this refrigerator. We have had it for about 4 months. It is quiet and looks great. It is a definite upgrade from the small refrigerator that we had. However, the refrigerator section is still small for fresh groceries and containers of leftovers for a family of 5. It is like playing tetris. The worse part is the ice maker. You have the option of cubed or crushed but what you will get consistently is a mixture of both. It clogs about once a week, even if you use it daily, and it is a pain to get the tray in and out of its slot. 3.5 is an accurate rating for this refrigerator.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It says to wait 12 hours after installation before ice will start making. I waited three days and nothing. Also had water leaking from somewhere and could not discover where it was coming from. Had technician out twice and never could get ice maker to work or fix the water leak. We replaced the ice maker unit and still nothing. Water leak is coming from somewhere inside the door and tech. said that the fridge would never be the same if he had to rip into the door to find out where the leak is coming from. Taking it back today!

What's not so great: Ice-plus can't keep up.
Ice maker is pretty lousy. I just had surgery and I have to chew on chipped ice. I have emptied the ice-maker and it cannot keep up. I am not going through more than a glass of crushed ice every couple hours, so I don't know what the problem is. It's like it just quit working when I needed it the most.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Nice looking, well thought through design
What's not so great: Capacity of ice maker.
Been in operation for 3 weeks. The unit seems to work well and it appears to be a well planned design. The temp controls are not indicators but setpoints for the freezer and refrigerator. That's good but what's important is what the temp IS and not what it should be. The ice maker does not appear to have a good capacity. I have seen this comment elsewhere. Out-of-the-box, the unit did not have the correct lens for the refrigerator light. Best-Buy was on top of it and corrected the problem. Notwithstanding these small issues, we are happy with the value and quality of ths product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just took delivery of this refrigerator and was impressed withthe ease of setup and the large capacity. only draw back was using the water dispenser thought is was gonna come out where the ice did and didn't see the stealthy water line above as the water went on my floor instead of into my glass. I'm sure friends and family will do this as well. Otherwise I am really impressed with LG products.

Unable to turn out blue door light. I don'tlike having to see the light while dining. The door shelves curve under and small jars get caught under the shelving and you have to remove other items to remove wanted item.
Should have a can holder in door

I love this LG fridge more then expected. It is large with 3 drawers inside that have humidity control. It is easy to clean and very roomy inside. The filter is easy to change and it has controls that tell you when to change the filter. The door dispenser is tall and can fit most extra large glasses and if you have a fat container you can pull the bottom out to allow it to fit. It is very user friendly. I have had no problems with this LG and I was supprised at how big it is inside compared to other models that are the same cu.ft..
I would recommend this to a friend!
