What's great about it: Fridge and Freezer maintain temperatures..nothing is over frozen in freezer and nothing is frozen in Fridge
I too have been reading the reviews on the fridge and do not have the same problems that others have been reporting. Fortunately, my unit works fine. I am very impressed with the temperature regulation on the unit, as nothing is over frozen in the freezer; and I have not had items inadvertently frozen in the fridge. I agree with the previous review on the ice make situation, you should change the settings on your ice maker. Additionally, only use the ice maker plus for a short period of time, because this will cause the cubes to "clump" and clog up the shoot (I am thinking that the ice may not be completely frozen when dumped into the dispenser on this setting).
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: icemaker is great once adjusted properly
What's not so great: You have to figure out which ice dispenser setting fits your usage.
I have seen quite a few people complaining about how the icemaker melts and refreezes, clumping together and clogging up the ice chute.
Here is the solution.
Inside the freezer door near the icemaker there are 3 buttons. These adjust the amount of ice released through the chute. If you are having this problem you probably need to switch to the smallest release setting. This should fix the issue entirely.

LG in door ice maker has a design flaw! As you open and close the fridge door, the ice melts and it drops to the collection area and eventually it collects so much that it drips to the floor. As the ice melts, it also re-hardens, and as it re-hardens chunks of ice get too large to go down the ice chute. What happens next is the ice gets stuck in the chute, and when you take off the ice collector the ice falls all over the floor. This creates a huge mess and I am going through this process every 3 days or so.
I have been dealing with this since the day I bought the refrigerator, and I had been just "dealing with this" up to this point. I am now officially at my wits end and I will be demanding Best Buy to do something. I have a service appointment this coming Saturday (2/27/10) but there will be nothing that an be done to fix this. This is a design flaw, pure and simple, and LG needs to work to fix this and Best Buy should not sell these refrigerators until LG corrects this design flaw. Buyer beware on an LG refrigerator!

What's great about it: Looks good
What's not so great: The ice maker is the worst I have seen
The refrigerator looks nice and is large, but, the in-door ice maker is the worst. I have had my fridge for a year and have had the ice maker replaced twice. The little flap that closes the chute for the ice works only once in awhile and causes a problem with the ice maker. The ice in the door begins to melt and clump together and when you push the lever for ice it just makes noise and no ice comes out. I have to remove the ice holder at least twice a month and dump the ice out and clean the maker and holder and start all over again with making ice. I will never purchase another LG product again!!!!

What's great about it: Big, nice looking, big.
What's not so great: Numerous service issues.
The in door ice maker saves space but it doesn't make ice very quickly. That's no huge deal but the little door lets in outside air so the ice is always melting/freezing inside the chute so it stops up every week. Now the despenser has quit working all together after 15 months.
The refridgerator part has quit working twice recently. They replaced a part and are going to replace the same part again.
It's too bad because it's a nice looking fridge but the ice maker wasn't properly executed and it has reliability problems with the fridge portion as well.
Might try another LG model if my extended warrenty kicks in. Just won't get the in door ice maker.

What's great about it: Ice unit inside door, good lighting, spacious
What's not so great: both water dispenser and compressor are extremely noisy
Initially this unit was problem free, however after one month, a random squealing noise appeared. It took three technicians before he identified the noise even existed. He determined it was an internal problem that couldn't be fixed. Long story short, LG is refusing to replace it because this noise doesn't affect its functionality. Don't waste your money unless you like poor customer service and a noisy appliance.

What's great about it: has enough room for everything, bright, organized

When shopping around for a refridgerator, everyone said not to get a side-by-side. Maybe the old fashioned side-by-sides aren't any good, but this has a large enough interior to fit holiday turkeys, hams...whatever. I have had many compliments on how nice it looks in our home. I have had it for three months now with no problems. Ice machine works great. I really am glad I decided to get this model.

What's great about it: cools well, lots of features, love the lock feature!!! best appliance in the house!
What's not so great: Price! but you get what you pay for.
My wife and I finally agreed on this particular refrigerator after looking at 8 different places and what felt to be a million different refrigerators. This one has been the best bang for the buck and does well on the electricity bill too!!!

What's great about it: Large and Tons of Storage
What's not so great: Glossy Finish may show fingerprints!
Got this fridge today after our old one's compressor died. Once filled with all our goodies, we had a ton of space left...much larger than our old one. Love how bright the inside is - lots of nooks and crannies. We also enjoy the melodies played when selecting crushed ice and others....only concern would be fingerprints showing up often on the glossy black finish - I'm sure microfibre can handle it though. Love it!!!
