What's great about it: Sound Is GREAT for size. What's not so great: Is not very Atractive, and power 8 out of 10
"These speakers are very good. The sound of these are wonderful, and the bass is AMAZING!!!!!!! When i hooked these things up, and first listened to them, i was in shock because they had a lot of sound, and these speakers where not that big. The power could be a little bigger, but they are satisfying. I really don't think that they are very atractive."

What's great about it: Great price. Blows away a lot of other bookshelf speakers around the same price. What's not so great: Not a lot of bass.
"I purchased these a while ago for $100. I replaced some Yamaha tower speakers with these. The small woofers don't put out a lot of bass, but you would be surprised at how deep these little speakers can sound. I matched them with a powered subwoofer and they sound awesome! After I get an LCD TV I'll mount these on either side and tuck the powered sub under an end table. These are outstanding speakers for a bedroom, kitchen, or some other part of your house by themselves and with a powered sub they're excellent main speakers for a surround system (with the addition of a powered subwoofer)."

What's great about it: nothing What's not so great: terrible sound
"I've heard lots of mediocre speakers in my day, but these speakers are by far the worst of the lot. The sound was muddy and indistinct. There was no detail at all. I've heard computer speakers that had greater clarity than these. I had these speakers connected to my trusty Adcom preamp and amp--which I know very well and have used with two other pairs of speakers. The Polks were going to serve to help me mix and master recordings of classical orchestral music. They were useless. Any change I made in EQ, balance, or volume from the different tracks, or any change I would introduce with reverb settings, were utterly lost on these speakers. I could hear none of the subtle changes I tried to make to the recording. These are going back to the store as soon as I can repack them."

"I needed to upgrade the speakers I got with a Sony compact disc receiver. Sony's were not bad but the Polk speakers made all the difference. Polk audio was a big name years ago like Fisher and today it’s Altec Lansing and Bose. Space was an issue and looks are a huge factor to me. They do the job and look good doing it."

"i recently got a vintage scott reciever from ebay and needed to get speakers for it i had a100.00$ gift card from best buy.i was a little dissapointed at the small speakers they had i'm 42 years old and remeber 12 inch woffers these polk speakers sound great crisp treble and suprisingly crisp bass woww."

"These little POLK BOOKSHELF SPEAKERS are great! They sound crisp and clear, no static, fit perfectly on a shelf or desk. What I also like about these, is that they can handle a strong bass, without it interfering with the music that's playing. I LOVE them, and they're a perfect accessory in my office. :)"
