What's great about it: Super sharp picture, great detail
What's not so great: Easily broken - by a child's toy
"Love this TV. The picture is so crisp and clear. I even like to watch golf now - just so I can see the blades of grass clear as day! Word of warning though - if you get one, mount it high where your kids can't get to it. My son hit ours lightly with a $1.00 toy and broke the LCD screen. It costs more to fix than to replace! I miss my tv!"

What's great about it: Crisp picture - great color quality
What's not so great: Slow to turn on initially
"Perfect size . . . not to big that it distorts compressed broadcasts, but big enough for great movie viewing. Even my old DVD's look new with the crisp realistic color! Good range of sound control so you're not stuck being either too loud or too soft.
And best of all - it fit across the back seat of my G6 (just) so I didn't have to have help to get it home! Did I mention the reward points? Great TV!"

"I love this television. The way our living room is set up, there is a need to put the tv where the windows would reflect in a normal TV. This has no glare at all, which is such a relief to the eye. I love the fact that even the surrounding on the set is flat black and doesn't reflect either. I looked at lots of the sets in Best Buy and this was the deciding factor for me. Of all of them, this was the best for that very thing. Many of the other sets had non-glare screens, but the surround was glossy, which I think in our case would have defeated the whole purpose. I definitely would and have recommended this TV to several people.....This feature was pointed out t me by my son, who had recently bought one and recommended it to me."

"This is my first Tv. When I got to bestbuy I was looking to buy a Samsung but then I saw this Tv and the price so I went for it. Although the Tv has a great picture and has all the necessary inputs I am a little disapointed about the time it takes for it to turn on."

"I just bought this product a couple of days ago. I have found that the picture is great. Standard signals look good and HD channels look fantastic. I've been able to receive some over-the-air HD signals and the picture is sharp with the black levels smooth and not overbearing. DVD movies are amazing as well. The only problem I have with this set is the limited features. There are only a couple different "standard" picture modes to choose from and no PIP. It takes a while for the TV to turn on as well, not a big issue for me though."

"I am feeling guilty with this rate, but let me explain. I had a 4 yr old 52 Inch Sony that needed to be replaced. I was amazed with the quality of the new tvs. while shopping around Best Buy. However, I got disappointed that all the “standards” are now gone: clock, wake-up, picture in picture, channel guide and earphone jack. OK, go back to this tv. set: the image is amazing, colors are vivid and you can see make-up, wrinkles and pimples on people. Wow. The cons, apart from the missing features, this takes more than 15 secs. to see the image, look carefully for the green indicator before hitting the power button again. Sound is very good, except for the lack of sound leveler that makes my wife complains when I am watching the Olympics at night. Binoculars to read the menu messages are not included, letters are so little that I think that may be this is a good tool to exercise my memory.
The good news and that is why I recommend it, is that you need to pay at least $1K more to get some of the missing features. You better save your money to pay for the additional HDMI cables needed, with the great image, you need a digital cable box and you start thinking in buying a Blu-ray dvd then, the corresponding blu-ray DVDs. The guys from Best buy were very helpful and they were very knowledgeable."

"I bought this TV about 2 weeks ago at my local best buy everyone there was very helpful. The picture on the television is amazing. Some people say the sound quality is not the best but i think it works with the television. Unless you turn it up completely the sound is awesome it just gets distorted if you blast it. But i have it hooked up to my surround sound system now and i am in awe. If your a gamer like me this television doesn't have a game mode but it doesn't need one the refresh rate is great. I have no lag on the screen even playing games online its the Best TV i've ever owned. I can't wait to get Madden 09 and pown nubes. If your looking for a new television i highly recommend this one sony is a trusted brand and always has the highest quality products. If you own a Xbox 360 or PS3 this is a must have."

"I have taken advantage of the liberal return policys for returning TV's to sample them in my home and will be keeping this one. One of the irritating things I noticed is having to change the picture mode with most of the cheaper brands when switching between analog and digital signals. This Sony has an auomatic setting for both signals that resize your picture so you can just flip channels. This TV also has a little slower "on" time although all of the TV's in this catagory are slow to turn on. I debated going with the 1080P especially in this size catagory because the cable company says they won't broadcast 1080P for at least 3 years and I rarely watch DVD's. The theory is at this screen size you can't tell the difference between 720P and 1080P. I have an HP that has a video card that supports 1080P and has an HDMI connection and I could not tell the difference."

"Definitely consider this product if looking for a new TV. I bought mine about 5 months ago and have been very impressed. Using a PS3 watching Blu-Ray DVD's is unbelievable. There are many ports allowing you to easily switch between game systems, cable, DVD, PC, etc... Once again definitely a great purchase."

"My wife and I just bought this Sony Bravia (40") over the weekend, and so far, we've been very pleased with the purchase. Assembling the stand was a breeze. On-screen menu options are easy to navigate. The picture quality is excellent when viewing HD channels/sources (still decent when viewing standard def sources, but the picture can look a bit fuzzy if you stand too close to the screen). The sound is pretty good with the TV speakers alone.
One drawback we've noticed is that it takes a good 10 seconds for the screen to respond each time you turn the TV on, but once it's on, it works beautifully.
Very reasonably priced compared to other models of the same size. Contrast ratio is a little low (2500:1, you get what you pay for), but the picture quality is still solid.
Overall, very satisfied with the purchase."
