This was the first dishwasher my husband ever purchased to go into our brand new house. We didn't really know what to expect out of a dishwasher and when dishes every once in a while came out still dirty we just let them run through the cycle a second and/or third time until they were finally clean. Finally we realized this should not be how a dishwasher works so we called Geek Squad and the poor guy came to my house at least 4 times trying to "fix" my dishwasher. He replaced EVERYTHING in the thing! Seriously, he fixed the control board, the soap dispenser because it wouldn't release the soap half the time, the sump pump, the rotator on the bottom of the machine, the rotator on the top of the machine, and finally determined to just "junk out" the machine because it was still not cleaning dishes properly. So we go ahead and get the same dishwasher as our replacement because we like the look of the dishwasher and how quiet it is. The first batch of dishes came out nice and clean and I was so glad we finally had a working dishwasher. The second batch came out and there were several dishes on the top and bottom rows that were still dirty and half of the powder soap, which Geek Squad recommended I use, was still in the container. We are going in today to just return the machine and go with a different brand because this is ridiculous. I would not recommend this washer to anyone!

Everything is great about this dishwasher except the "energy saving" feature of not telling you when the dishes are clean. At the end of the wash cycle, the "completed" light comes on, a bell chimes, but after about 4 minutes the light goes out and the panel goes dark. There is nothing to tell you that the dishes are now clean.
Other than that, it washes great, is unbelievably quiet and nice looking.
What's great about it: Washes great
What's not so great: Did you run the dishwasher?

I was concerned at first when I read the reviews at the Best Buy website and other websites. After four months of use I concluded they were unfounded. Our dishes,silverware and glassware come out clean, spotless and they sparkle. This is saying something since our city water is terrible. We use Cascade Complete powder and Cascade rinse aid. The important thing to remember is to read and follow the instruction manual. We always use the extra rinse cycle as suggested. The machine employs new technology and drys with fans and evaporation not high heat that wasts energy and cooks your dishes. We have our water heater set at 120 degreesThe dishwasher holds a ton of dishes. It also has a silverware holder that can be moved to either rack. We really like the fact that we can adjust the top rack up or down depending on the load. We have an open floor plan and can watch television or have conversations with friends when the dishwasher is running.
What's great about it: How nice our dishes and glasses look after washing. Quietness
What's not so great: Nothing yet.

Our 5 yr. old Jenn Air was too loud, had missing wheels & rod on the upper drawer and was a source of frustration - not worth fixing after the 2nd breakdown. We've had this LG, model LDF6920, only 2 months but it's performance has been perfect so far!! It cleans to the point of shine on glasses. The drawer design holds noticeably more than our previous dishwasher so we run about 2 fewer loads each week. Also, the drawers & baskets are sturdy and can "handle" the weight. My husband and I scrape and lightly rinse dishes before loading... it takes 2-3 days to fill-up. The machine has a long REGULAR wash cycle (because of the steaming process I guess) and a SHORT cycle.
We're amazed that we CANNOT HEAR IT run... we hear the water through pipes in the wall! My stove makes more noise when the interior fan kicks on. Besides cleaning dishes well, it looks stylish (never thought I'd say that about a dishwasher). About LG brand: We bought the 42" HD TV last Christmas - it's wonderful. My brother and son have the 23" and 42" PC gamer monitors (and those guys are "sold" on the quality of LG brand) - so we bought this dishwasher. It is very solid, well-designed and well-made... I recommended it to my daughter-in-law because I am so pleased.

First dishwasher in 15 years; Went to all different stores in the metro, evaluating different makes/models; This was the 'sweet' spot in price/features for what we need. Actually, our only requirements was that it be quiet, white and a flush face (no handle). Cleans well, but the best part - unbelievably quiet !!

LG does not make good appliances; this dish washer never were able to clean dishes very well. Our previous low price machine did a better job and we finally replaced the LG with a Whirlpool; which works great.
The only good think about it was its quietness; it was just a very pleasant waterfall sound.
Do not buy LG appliances; we just had out refrigerator give up on us and LG will not authorize a repair. The fridge is two years old.
What's great about it: Silent
What's not so great: Does not do its job, which is to clean dishes after all

We've only had this dishwasher a couple of months now, so I can't say too much about its durability; but I can say that the short time we've had it, we absolutely love it.
My old dishwasher could be hear running all over the house. I can barely hear this one running even when I'm in the kitchen.
It seems to do a good job of cleaning the dishes. My wife has not complained about it anyway.

I replaced a dead dishwasher that was probably 15 - 20 years old. I did some research on-line and knew what features I wanted. This one has all of them (stainless tub, nylon racks, Energy Star, extra insulation).
I've had it a couple months now, and I'm very pleased. It cleans quite well (although I do use the extra rinse cycle, since the water in San Diego is pretty hard).
This machine is extremely quiet! If the display wasn't lit - I would forget it was on!
Be sure to tack on $150 to the price for installation unless you're qualified to do it yourself. It was worth it to me to have them do it.
My only complaint is the design of the racks. I don't know if it's because they're different from my old one, or if I just really don't like them. I find it a little awkward loading glasses in the top rack. The bottom rack is better (but I don't love it, either). If the tines folded down, they would be easier to use.
But this is really a minor complaint - there's nothing necessarily WRONG with the racks, and I'm figuring out the best way to load things.
Overall - so far, at least, I LOVE this dishwasher!
What's great about it: Cleans well, QUIET QUIET QUIET!!!
What's not so great: I wish the tines on the racks folded. Or...at least, I would redesign the top rack.

Replaced an old Whirlpool that sounded like a jet engine (I should know!) Thsi LG is quieter with my ear pressed against the door than my old DW from 30 feet away! Not to mention that it cleans better too! The key is to take extra care with leveling it, make sure there are no kinks in the water/drain lines, and use JetDry. The musical cycle complete chime makes me laugh.
What's great about it: QUIET! cleans great!
What's not so great: the silverware basket is a little annoying, but I'll get used to it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We bought a LG stainless steel tub dishwasher and really am not happy with how it cleans. My older (builder grade) dishwasher really did a better job. We thought being an LG and for the price we paid we really are not happy with it. The only thing that I can say is better is that this is quieter than our old one.

I normally don't write reviews. I am doing this to hopefully save you frustration. We did our homework when we bought this dishwasher. Loved the integrated controls look, the quiet, the bells/whistles. Was rated a Consumer Reports best buy. Not a lot of "internet noise" except for complaints of smell (which turned out to be true but was a nuisance at best) and need to have it professionally installed (due to "european plumbing design", lol). We used very happily for 15 months, now washer has stopped working, cost to repair is higher than to simply by a new one. We went on line and found hundreds of people with LG dishwashers having the same problem, and now Consumer Reports has changed LG to very low ratings/serviceability. Two LG repairmen I spoke to told us to never buy any LG applicances. To prove that we had a 3 week wait until they could come out (2 different companies.) We are going back to Whirlpool where our appliances have consistently lasted 15 years plus...
What's great about it: Unbelievably quiet; good space
What's not so great: After 15 months, stopped drying, then working; cost to fix is now higher than it cost to buy. We are not alone.

We bought this dishwasher last year and it has leaked on and off since day 1. Our entire kitchen floor is covered with water and it leaks into the basement. We've had service out several times and they can't figure out what is wrong with it because it doens't leak every time- just half of the time. Our 1 yr service warranty just ran out so I was told I have to have approval from LG for someone to come out and look at it again even though the serivce company has been out several times this past year and never fixed it.
What's great about it: Quiet
What's not so great: Doesn't clean dishes and leaks all over the floor!

I just replaced the dishwasher that came from the developer.. I just assumed that when you ran the washer yu had to turn up the volume of the TV. I was amazed at how quite the LG washer was. My whole family loves it!!
What's great about it: wisper quiet, so quiet that I was not sure it was working when I first turned it on.
What's not so great: have not found any bad points yet!

I like the stainless steel tub. The quality of this product is far greater then the whirlpool I just got rid of. The heating element is not visible so don't worry about plastics falling down into bottom of tub and melting like the "wicked witch of the west". This DW is simple to use yet it has style and modern electronics with a cute little "ding, ding" when its done. Great product.
What's great about it: Super quiet, easy to use adjustable racks.
What's not so great: Nothing so far

LG at best is JUNK!!!!! I purchased a high end dishwasher from them back in Nov. and since then I have jet to see a full load of clean dishes. I have had three techs at my house a total of six times and the LG tech center has gotten involved and they can not find what is wrong with it. They claim that if they can’t find anything wrong with it, nothing is wrong with it. The techs saw my dirty dishes and I have sent in pictures of my VERY dirty dishes to LG, they claim that because the tech says they can’t find what is wring with it, that is sufficient for them to say that they cannot replace the washer. I have done everything they have asked me to do. At one point they said they needed all of my paperwork to start the replacement process, when they received it they changed their minds and said that they want someone to go out again and check the unit!
Buyer beware, LG’s “warranties” are designed to repair not replace. They will waste your time again and again and refuse to put a deadline on either repairing or replacing a product until they find something specifically wrong with it and at that point they will repair it even if the item is new!! I have been at it for 5 months now and I do not see an end in sight. DON’T EVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT!!!!!!!!

Looks good, quiet. Fairly good loading capacity. But I would not recommend it. The dishes came out wet until I added the jet dry agent. The dishes don't always come out clean. I find myself re-washing items all the time.
What's great about it: looks good, it's quiet and has a decent capacity
What's not so great: Doesn't dry without a drying agent. Dishes, utensils do not come clean

Worked great for 11 months. Started streaking, and leaving DW liquid on dishes. Tried to get service. No one in our area, call LG. What a nightmare. BB gave us our money back.

I have had several dishwashers in my life. The good ole Maytag quit not long ago and I bought this LG. Should have checked the reviews first. Now it is installed and so what do you do. It doesn't clean dishes. Everything remains either not clean or streaky. I hate to have guests over. Now we use plastic dinnerware with guests so we are not embarrassed. Buy another dishwasher. This one does not work.

I have never seen a dishwasher that was is so quite. When you turn it on you will hear a pleasant tune. For real.. You do.. My grandmother is 82 years old and she can use this dishwasher. It has to be the best investment I have made for my kitchen. You cant even hear it when you are doing dishes. This has to be the best part. Our old one which we had for over 20 years was so loud it sounded like you were about to take off when you started it. I cant say enough good things about this LG dishwasher.
What's great about it: When the dishwasher is on and cleaning you don't even hear it! I had to open it just to be sure that it was on.
What's not so great: Everything is great about this.
I would recommend this to a friend!
