What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Could be more versatile for loading
"We have been using this dishwasher for a few weeks now and still love it. We love the look of it. It is easy to use. It is quiet and our dishes come out spotless every time. We use the soap and rinse aid that the machine came with and the results have been wonderful. We were a little hesitant to purchase it when we were told it had no heating element for drying. The stainless steel interior combined with the residual heat from washing air dries the dishes over a few hours. Since we run our dishwasher over night this is not an issue for us and in the morning the dishes are dry. Occasionally we may have to finish drying a plastic item on the inside, but no more than we did in our previous dishwasher with a heating element. The only thing I wish this dishwasher had is a little more versatility for loading. While the top rack is height adjustable, unfortunately if you want flip down tines or removeable tines you have to purchase the next model up and that one only comes in stainless steel. All of our appliances are black so stainless was not an option for us. So the only thing keeping this from being the perfect dishwasher for us is that the tines are not moveable. We love this dishwasher."

I love my dishwasher

What's great about it: my glasses are sparkling, it uses less electricity, I can fit a ton of dishes in it
"I love my dishwasher! We've had it for about three months now. It gets my dishes sparkling clean. We were told by our salesman not to use dishwasher gel or granulated detergents, but to use the dishwasher packets (like Cascade) instead. We've done this and had no trouble at all. I love the adjustable upper rack. I can put my tall pots and cutting board in the bottom rack. My clean glasses are sparkling after every wash and it even got off dried on spaghetti! This is an awesome dishwasher!"

Great ... while it worked

What's great about it: Quiet, easy to use
What's not so great: Unit failed after 2+ years
"Purchased LG dishwasher model 7811BB in January of 2007. Worked great ! Very quiet. Unit failed in Oct 2009. Repair guy just left and said motor failed. Disappointing quality. Of course, the warranty for parts (except control board, rack, liner) is 2 years. So my choice is to spend $400 to have a new motor installed or buy a new dishwasher. If I choose the latter, it won't be an LG."

What's great about it: I love this dishwasher . I was worried because of the reviews but it cleans very well and is quiet.
"Water is going up where I live and I needed a unit that uses less this one is great. I don't know if the company has made changes to this unit, but it cleans very well. I think the main thing to remember is less water means less soap.I also use the sanitary rinse . I had a Maytag before and will never buy their product again."

What's great about it: Love the black glossy finish and sleek design
"Unit installed today. So far so good. A little concerned about the reviews, but purchased the 5 year premium service guarentee. It is very quiet and it will take some getting used to - not sure when it's done! Drying could be a little better, but I may not be loading it correctly. Huge, with lots of room to spare."

What's great about it: quiet
What's not so great: Main motor dead after 2 years
"I thought that I was getting a quality dishwasher considering that you pay a premium for LG. However after only 2 years of service, the main motor in my unit died and it cost $335 to repair. No more LG products for me..."

What's great about it: Looks Nice
What's not so great: Cleaning/Longevity
"Very nice looking exterior but thats about it. After 1 month lower level didn't clean at all. Had the motor replaced. After second month top level doesn't clean at all. Makes all kinds of loud sounds. Need to run the appliance twice for each load. Glasses come out foggy and dirty feeling. Plates look streaked and dirty. Luckily Best Buy is letting me exchange it for a different model."

Didn't Work
10/14/2008

What's great about it: Quiet
What's not so great: Faulty pump unit, Horrible customer service
"I bought this LG six months ago and it didn't seem to work well from the beginning. The water didn't seem to get very hot and the dishes came out cold and wet. But, I thought ti just must be a European energy saving thing. Six months into it, it started to make a LOUD sqweek and whistle noise. I tried LG's online live help, and once I told the person my problem, was left for about 30 minutes until I finally disconnected. I called the 800 number and no one picked up for another 30 minutes. So, I just called a repair person who replaced the main pump unit (under warranty thank goodness). Now, the dishwasher gets really hot (the sanitary rinse works now) and dishes come out dry. If I hadn't had the sqweek noise, I would have never known that my new washer didn't work right from the start."

Poor Quality, Design, and Perfromance

What's great about it: Sleek Exterior Design and quiet
What's not so great: Reliability, Design Layout, and overall cleaning capabilities
"In a word – TERRIBLE Although LG seems to be making in-roads in quite a few technological areas these days, this particular appliance would not be one to use as a positive indicator. Don’t be fooled by its sleek exterior design and quietness, which are very appealing, its overall reliability, performance, and interior design are immensely lacking. I returned two of these units due to failed electronics that controlled the “child lock” feature. Each unit would have required a replacement of the main electronics Motherboard to correct the issue – not good. It was only a matter of time before some other electronic featured failed, so I opted to go with another manufacture in the end. While having the LG unit in my possession, I noticed that the cleaning capabilities were marginal at best, the “hybrid condensed drying system” is a joke unless you like cold, wet glasses and plates after its drying cycle is finished, and the layout of the racks shows a complete lack of thought from an engineering standpoint in terms of user ability. Absolutely no flexibility in terms of tine positioning – anything but standard plates and glasses become a chore in terms of finding good placement or containment – and as a result its ability to clean items consistently was sub-par. I picked up a comparably priced Whirlpool and I can tell you that there is no comparison. The Whirlpool is fantastic, has all of the flexibility, and performs beautifully - everything the LG was unable to deliver. Don’t waste anytime on this LG appliance as it will cause a lot of frustration and almost surely will force you to research and select something else in the end. BTW – Thank you to Best Buy for an outstanding return policy and willingness to help with the returns and exchanges - no issues there and I’m a happy customer in the end."

What's great about it: quiet, easy to use and selection of simple options
What's not so great: none
"I really liked this LG applicance. It was my first one. I went on to purchase an LG oven from Best Buy--and love both units--especially at the holidays and when having a party. The dishwasher has nice, simple features that are easy to follow. Very quiet operation. Be sure to look for the rinse agent --it has a blue bubble to view--I overlooked this at first."
