What's great about it: has all of the current NFL players, great gameplay.
What's not so great: Very similar to Madden 2008, not many plays to choose from.

"This game is the best of the Madden series, but it just barely wins that title. First of all, this game is extremely similar to Madden 2008. The plays, game modes, etc. are both almost completely identical. Also, this game doesn't have many plays to choose from on offense or defense. This gets annoying because it will get pretty repetitive. The best part of this game is the multiplayer mode. It is great for having friends over, so you can both either play many games on Quick Play mode, or start a franchise together. I only recommend this game for if you have a pretty good HD TV. If you don't, the graphics will pretty much suck. This game is just OK."

What's great about it: Amazing graphics
What's not so great: the soundtrack

"The graphics in this game are amazing!!Especially on the ps3. When they show the outside of the arena at the start of the game,you'd sware you were watching real life tv!! The soundtrack sucked this year though but other than that,it's an alright game to play when you want to kill time!!"

What's great about it: New supersim feature
What's not so great: Linebackers still get ints to easily

"It's hard to throw over the middle as linebackers intercept everything. On a lot of plays the players seem very robotic."

What's great about it: Decade Scoring in Franchise Mode
What's not so great: Gameplay is the same as 2008

"I love the new features in the Franchise Mode. since that is what I play 90% of the time. The new Decade Scoring feature is very cool because it helps you keep track of where you are and gives you a target to beat each year. It seems like the passing over the middle is more realistic since you don't have MLB's jumping six feet in the air to intercept passes.
My only real issue with the Madden series is that year after year some of the players during some of the plays are somewhat robotic. Especially the blockers. That and the FB tends to just run by people who end up making the tackle is, sometimes, infuriating.
All in all, though I love the game and would recommend it to anyone who likes football."

What's not so great: limited playbooks

"Madden 09 is another collectors edition dream come true, I love the gameplay, graphics and new features added to this year's title. The only drawback is the limited playbooks each team has and I understand there's only so much you can do with these games, but none the less, it would be nice to see a more robust playbook specific to each team!

I love Madden - I hope they keep out-doing themselves each year!

What's not so great: Nothing new

"All the same things that were in Madden 08 are in Madden 09. If you do superstar mode, there are less challenges that you have to do in the year. You have to fight for your job, you get it at the start of the regular season anyway. Nothing new, save some money and just keep Madden 08."

"Spend an hour on setting up and reorganizing rookie numbers along with recent trades (Shockey, Jason Taylor, Chad Pennington, ala Brett Favre) and you will not leave your television"

What's great about it: Updated rosters, endzone celebrations
What's not so great: Graphics, exact copy of last year, NO BRETT FAVRE?!

"Last years Madden NFL 08 was sucessful due to the new "Skill Drills" and improved graphics. In this year's madden 09 the graphics, in my opinion, have gotten no better. Also, there is no Brett Favre... how is this! I was so jazzed about playing this game I went to Madden Nite just to be one of the first to prchase this game, sadly not impressed. If anything, buy this game for either Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 where there is atleast some new features and better graphics... Trust me save that $40"
