What's great about it: gameplay solid, great visuals, online play
What's not so great: franchise mode has less features then past versions, some features missing that should be in the game.
"Overall this is another solid football game. But, certain things like the lack of features that were in the PS2 version of the game takes this one down a few notches."

What's great about it: Love the balanced game play
What's not so great: On Live, trolls become gods because the game can be exploited
"In real game play it's quite a good game once the glitches have been worked out in coverages and some cheat plays. In the Live version, there are some really goofy things: not much fatigue for the all-game hurry up player, no ratings lost for teams that don't punt and always go for it on 4th and long.
Also difficult to throw long even if you have a good team."

What's great about it: I like the graphics and the way it challenges you to up your game.
What's not so great: No cons
"Aw man, this is the best madden yet, I play it 24/7. I like the graphics and how difficult it is. There is no easy game, you have to play your best in every game to win, but a lot of gamers and I like that. I recommend this to all football fans."

What's great about it: Graphics, Madden IQ, Gameplay
What's not so great: Rewind
"This is the best madden yet. They're improving year after year in this game. The best thing about this game is that it knows your Madden IQ and you could play to your own skill level. No matter if you're only good at offense and suck at defense (or vice versa), this game is able to adjust to your skill settings to make it a more enjoyable experience. Great job EA Sports."

What's great about it: Madden IQ,,better gameplay and graphics,personalized endzone celebrations
What's not so great: rewind is the worse idea ever i think the creators of madden were doing too much with this new feature
"There is no doubt that this is a true Madden game but it also comes with a couple of other cool games to play and interface. A must buy for any Madden or just all around football fan"

What's great about it: Madden IQ, Online leagues, and the laugh in your friends face when they lose fun we love
What's not so great: A lot of the same stuff from last year's Madden; WHAT!?! NO FAVRE?!?
"Overall this was a great game, better than last year's imo. Madden IQ offers a wide range of diffuculties, for the newbies and the experts. I didn't like the fact that Favre can only be found in the legends playlist, but other than that, if you like football games you need to grab this one."

"Madden NFL 09 is the best Madden game yet! I love how Madden IQ adjusts your skill level after every game, so each game is a new challenge. However, you don't have to use Madden IQ if you don't want to. The gameplay is also improved from Madden 08."

What's great about it: Its madden
What's not so great: didnt clear up the rough spots from last year
"Madden is a great game, the virtual trainer, madden iq are great. Madden moments are so much fun and challenging make fun for hours. The game play is fun like normal and its madden its never gonna be terrible. However, last years game was shotty and this years has similar defficencies. the reciever AI is awful awful awful. The pocket mobility of QB's and the inability to try and get rid of the ball before a hit is also bad. its not the worst game you can get cause it is a lot of fun but it is not the best in the series and not better than NCAA 09"

"I bought Madden08 for the Wii and my son and I play it often. So, when I got my XBOX360, Madden09 was a must have. The game is a lot of fun. I like the adaptive difficulty and love the graphics. There is a bit of a learning curve."

What's great about it: Adjusting difficulty with great franchise mode
What's not so great: some stats, such as pancake blocks, do not go to the best players over the time of a season

What's great about it: Great Gameplay, Easy controls, Good Graphics
What's not so great: Breaks Easily
"It's easily the best sports video game out there. Uses a test to see how good you are on both sides of the ball to make a custom skill for you which makes the game both challenging and fun to do multiplayer, because if say you are playing a person worse than you it will make it a way better game that will be better for you and for them. That way it makes it easier for any player new or advanced to have a chance to go all the way and break the big one. Probaly to me the best but one of the littliest updates is the chance to break a takle while you are being taken down that makes it so much easier for me to bring the punt / kickoff return with Hester. The only problem I would say it had was I had it for maybe 2-3 weeks and two tiny little scratches on it made it so I cant play a game at all anymore."

What's great about it: Outstanding graphics...that's a given. Awesome gameplay and excellent training features.
What's not so great: Commentary is repetitive. Too much online play lag so make sure you play someone with good ping.
"I've always been a PS2 Madden gamer for the reasons of the fact that i've been un-impressed with the PS3 and xbox 360 versions. However, this year, both PS3 and the 360 out-did themselves. I love the game play on the 360 this year and love the overall game experience.
I think its a hard game to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, it's a lot of fun. The game supposedly adapts to your gameplay, but i can't tell the difference. I think you just have to make the right plays and be smart about your play calling. It's a lot of getting used to considering i've been so used to playing the ps2 version. I haven't picked up the ps2 version yet, and at this point, i don't intend to. I think xbox 360 finally got it right this year and i know it will just get better in the following years to come.
