What's great about it: It prints perfect everytime both documents and photos and cheap ink
What's not so great: A little pokey at times

"I had several other printers such as HP and Epson and they were all junk. My HPs printed poor quality photos and my epson wasted ink and printed poorly. They all got returned. I have owned this one and it is only on its second print cartridges since the summer of 2008! I would rather have this printer than any other one. No issues at all."

Great Value - Great Convenience 02/15/2009

What's great about it: Quality Printing - INK LOW COST
What's not so great: A little noisy -- so what.

"Researched Kodak alot for my MBA, read a lot about their printing ink technology patent -- and that HP's answer to Kodak was to match the price by LOWERING the qty in their refill packs (:O).

Waited til it was on sale, picked it up today. Set-up was easy, prints great ... scans very quickly and easily. Certainly better then the HP all-in-one that I threw out today.

Best of all, the $$ you save on ink means that if this printer breaks in a year or two you still come out ahead ... and I used my Rewards $$ to make it even cheaper.

It looks great, set-up was easy (came with both MS & Mac disks) ... just need a USB cable (used the HP one). All the photo card stuff and an extra USB is in the front for direct printing."

What's great about it: Extremely capable printer with very low cost ink, it literally will pay for itself
What's not so great: sometimes sits and does all sort of things before printing (my canon does the same)

"I am using this printer in an office setting and it has worked flawlessly. It does everything expected of it and the ink cartridges are only $10 for B&W and $13 for color. This printer will pay for itself after a few cartridge changes. I have had no problems even with the heavy usage I have given it. You can't beat it for the price."

What's great about it: Value

"I bought this to replace a different brand printer that rejected an after-market cartidge and froze-up.
The Kodak is a nice, cheap, printer/scanner/copier. It produces pretty good output using ink that is actually priced reasonably. (No more "Russian Roulette" with cheap generic cartiddges to keep printing costs reasonable!)
All the functions work surprisingly well for a cheap machine.

It is a cheap machine - It is quite noisy on startup. The manual is on disk rather than printed. Be sure the rear tray cover is in place. Mine was jarred loose in shipping and the paper fed unreliably until I found the problem. Also be sure you follow the directions carefully to be sure the print head is seated properly - it can be a little tricky.

All in all a great package for the money. If you print often enough to keep the heads moist and don't need a super-high end scanner this could be the machine you need,"

What's great about it: Initial Price
What's not so great: The Print head will fail....I repeat the print head will fail

"I have owned two of these printers. Each time the print head failed. It will do fine for a few weeks, maybe a couple of months, then the black will no longer show up. You clean the print head using the software or you may even remove the print head and clean with distilled water, and wala, it will print fine for a few pages, then ultimately the print head will fail. This is a major flaw with these printers and Kodak should be ashamed of themselves. I have two friends who bought the ESP3, guess what...after a couple of months the print heads failed. As George W said...fool me once....."

What's great about it: Great photo printing
What's not so great: Can't print over the network

"If you plan on printing over the network from a windows machine to a Mac or Mac to windows forget it. The software for this printer will not allow you to do any kind of network printing. Attempting to do so will at best print out garbage and and usually will just refuse to print at all. Attaching to a print server is no better as the software refuses to acknowledge that it's connected to the server. After spending server days (yes days) on the phone with Kodak I was informed that network printing is not supported yet no where in any of the materials was this stated. I tried to return the printer and neither the place I purchased it nor Kodak would allow me to do so. Overall this is a VERY disappointing printer and I would say steer clear of any Kodak printer as they are not well supported nor as functional as most other brands."

What's great about it: Cheap Ink
What's not so great: Stopped working!

"What you save in Ink you will make up for with headache from this machine! I've had this under a year, barely use it except to print minimal documents, yet it will not print anymore! I have cleaned it, done all the maintenance and it will spit out papers with nothing on them!

Oh and I constantly get error messages, printer is not on (yes it is), out of ink (hmm, not yet!).

I'm frustrated. I thought it had decent reviews and now I'm back to square one with no printer and out the money! :("

What's great about it: Abosolutely nothing
What's not so great: Poor software, No flexibility,

"Cost of printing is much higher than advertised. It prints a lot less copies per cartridge then Kodak claims. Software is clunky and difficult to use. It kicks out print jobs as unacceptable for reasons that are unclear. There is no flexibility to this product. Print quality is only fair."

What's great about it: being able to put the memory card in to print pictures
What's not so great: noisy

"Printer has no user guide to follow. Printer did not work after I bought it. Worked w/ a tech support and they determined I needed a new printhead. Works ok after I recieved that, but while I was installing the new printhead I ran out of colored ink because of all the testing I did w/ the tech support. Kodak would not compensate me for new ink. So on top of buying a new printer and a new camera, I had to go buy ink."

What's great about it: cost of ink is wonderful and you do get alot of prints for the ink
What's not so great: where do i begin, really loud, eats paper, feeds paper in crooked, feeds multiple sheets in at a time

"recommended by salesperson... i shouldn't have listened, HP was quieter...print documents and pics at least 3 times each just to get one good one...paper feeder is unpredictable"

What's great about it: Wonderful picture prints and great looking 8x11 printouts. Inexpensive ink cartriges
What's not so great: Can't think of anything.

"Got this printer for $99 bucks and put the geek squad no hassle warranty on it just to be sure. So far it's a perfect printer and the the pictures, wow, just like I had them done professionally. Prints very clear documents also and perfect reproduction in when I need a copy. Not that loud, not any louder than any HP or Canon printer I have ever owned."

What's great about it: Eventually, picture quality

"I have been a Kodak customer for over 20 years. I will only have my 35mm photos printed on Kodak paper. Both of my digital cameras are from Kodak and I purchased a Kodak photo printer to make sure they were developed on Kodak paper, too. I thought this AIO would be an upgrade from that photo printer. When it comes to printing photos, I only wanted Kodak brand.
For the first time ever, I am very disappointed in a Kodak product.

I received this printer as a Christmas present. I couldn't wait to set it up and begin printing... but waiting is exactly what I had to do. The first thing I noticed was that NO MANUAL came with this printer. There is a photo guide to show you how to install the ink cartridges and the printhead, but that's it. For everything else, you have to go to their website. Since the printer works without being connected to a computer, what if you don't have a computer? You can't go to the website without a computer! Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I prefer to have a manual to read through.

The first thing I tried was printing a photo from a photo. It came out light blue & white - no other colors. I tried it twice and they were both like that. I went to the website to try and find a solution, but kept getting frustrated trying to navigate around the site. I didn't want to spend a lot of time online on Christmas Day, so I gave up. There is a live online chat option, but again, I didn't have a lot of time to be online on Christmas Day and I assumed no one would be there on a holiday anyway.

The next day, I tried the live online chat option several times and couldn't get through because the lines were busy. I decided to try calling and speaking to a live person, maybe that would speed up the process. He had me do several test prints on the printer, and after being on the phone for 30 minutes, decided I had a defective printhead. A brand new printer had a defective part...

After installing the new printhead and using several sheets of paper to test the print quality, I finally got it to print nice quality photos. The next thing I tried was printing photos from a memory card. When I inserted the card, the images wouldn't show on the LCD screen on the printer. (Yes, there WERE photos on the card.)

At this point I had had enough. I took it back with the intention of exchanging it, but they were out of stock. The whole experience wasn't worth the hassle. I do not recommend this item."

What's great about it: Very easy to set up, great photos, excellent text, excellent price.
What's not so great: Just a bit on the noisy side.

"I bought this over the holidays when BestBuy had it on sale for $99.95. So far I can find no fault with it. It's a nice desktop printer that does an excellent job. The photos are just excellent and fast. Plus if it turns out that the advertizing is true the printing costs will be much less that any of the other comparable printers. I believe you can buy the combo kit for the cartridges at BestBuy for less than $23."

What's great about it: It has a lot of features (none of which are they great, but a lot none the less), it is relatively inexpensive.
What's not so great: Horrible picture quality, slow, no usb cable (although most printers don't come with one)

"I purchased this printer with the thought that since it is a Kodak and Kodak is known for pictures that it would be a decent printer. I was completely wrong, it is not worth the price nor is it worth a try. It is one of the worst printers I have ever used or owned. I would definitely not recommend it to anyone. Here are a few reasons why:

Horrible picture quality - I understand that it is an ink jet and it's not going to be perfect, but these pictures are just horrible quality (streaky, off colored, and while they dry the colors bleed). I understand that the ink is cheaper than a HP or Canon, but the quality is much cheaper as well.

Printer speed is very slow, and it smears while drying.

Terrible customer service when you call.

Please be smarter than me and get a HP or Canon."

"I just bought my machine today and i have already scanned some photos and printed out my first paper for my little girl to color on.There is a bad side to this machine though,if you want to get your pictures off of the computer you have to have a usb cable unless you have a sd card or some kind of card that accepts it.I do recommend buying the photo paper to go with it because it does not come with photo paper in the bundle only the machine,the instructions,all the cords and plugs and the ink and software but no photo paper.the only paper you get it is like regular copying paper.It's good to get any kind of copying paper for it to print on but when it comes to photos please buy kodak only for your pictures to turn out like quality prints."

"I bought this printer after watching the Apprentice and thought it would be a good quality printer for my needs. Within 6 months, I have had to contact Kodak 3 times to replace the printer. The original printer's printhead malfunctioned in the middle of printing, the second printer arrived with the scanner malfunctioning, and the third printer arrived with a defective printhead. With the time spent on the phone with support, driving to UPS stores, and being without the use of a printer; I wish I had gone with a different brand.
When it works, the printer is wonderful. Professional quality prints, fast printing for all those long documents, and uses very little ink."

"When I bought this printer it was the last one in the store and had been returned, so I got it for less than the sale price. I figured if there was actually something wrong with it then I could also return it, and I really wanted to try the Kodak printer. Well, the prints that came out were all a bluish tint; there were no reds or yellows no matter what I tried. I was able to report the problem to Kodak online and after troubleshooting to no avail, was sent a new printhead (within a couple of days - very fast). After installing the new printhead, the prints seem to be fine. We'll see after a while if it will last, though."

What's great about it: easy to hook up, easy to use, very inexpensive ink, true 5 color ink, good value, good pix print speed and quality
What's not so great: At this price, nothing really. If I have to pick something, it makes loud clunking noises at start up.

"I bought my ESP 5 on sale and am very satisfied with the value of my purchase. Exceeds my expectations. Kodaks inexpensive ink cartridge ($9.99 blk, $14.99 color) and inexpensive pix paper is a brilliant plan to capture my print/picture dollars. I go willingly.
Sure, no USB2 cable in box but I have several at the house. Actually hot swapped my old one from broken Dell AOI to new Kodak AOI.
This printer is NOISY at start up but you get used to it.
I edit all of my pictures on my PC so I didn't need the little viewing screen that came with the printer or edit options but someone does."
