I just bought the Acer and took it on a business trip. I tried to play a Movie and had volume turned all the way up and couldn't hear it even with volume all the way up. I told a friend that also has Acer and he says he has same problem when playing movie or DVD. This is crazy to me, why have that feature if you cannot hear anything.

What's great about it: Clear screen

What's not so great: Can't play a movie or DVD due to lousy sound

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is my first experience with a laptop and it has been great. I use it to save tons of music, pictures, and games and it still runs perfectly. For internet connectivity, it has a built in wireless LAN which is great for me because thats the only connection I use!

What's great about it: easy to use; reliable ;not too bulky; get what you pay for

What's not so great: software bundle

I would recommend this to a friend!

I believe if you want a great computer at a great price, this could be what you are looking for. Face it, just about all computers are made with the same guts. So why spend hundreds of dollars more for a computer that has the specs. This is a very affordable laptop and easy to use, the only thing that upsets me is the battery life is rather short at a one hour time limit, but I hear thats about average. I recommend this for the person that just wants to surf.

What's great about it: great speed, lots of memory, great price

What's not so great: short battery life

I would recommend this to a friend!

I did my research on this laptop & found nothing but good reviews. Even a buddy of mine (who works on computers) told me that Acer computers are very good & very much slept on. I have enjoyed my computer with hardly no complaints. Just typical internet gliches like frozen screens, etc but other than that...good computer so far for under 600 bucks!

What's great about it: A good buy & great! No complaints!

What's not so great: Haven't gotten black screen that a few reviews wrote *crosses fingers*

This is my first laptop ever. It comes with everything you need. It's great for typing papers for school & surfing the internet FAST.
It's such a great design & other computers just can't compare to it.

What's great about it: Cheap & works GREAT!

What's not so great: None so far.

I give this product 4 out of 5 stars. Excellent choice for basic household needs.

What's great about it: DL DVD/Vista/Signal up/Good graphics card

What's not so great: no bluetooth or webcam

I purchased an Acer and within one and a half years it randomly stopped working. I was pleased to get a product that wasn't costly, but I truly got a product that cannot compare with the bigger names. And to top it all off my computer still does not work, my warranty has run out and I will probably have to pay somebody to fix it for about another $400.00. I will never purchase an Acer again, sad to say.

What's great about it: Cheap Price

What's not so great: Paid for what I got, Malfunctions Easy, Slow Processing, Short Warranty

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It has a crystal clear screen that is bright and i can see the screen better! And it is very fast!! quite to very light i thought! I would recommend buying this product from best buy!! very cheap for this very fast laptop!

I had to get a new pc due to my being stolen however, I was looking for the best pc with the most reasonable price and I would definately say I am satisfied. The acer has a better processor speed than the sony and cost less. I am completely happy with this computer since I only really use it for school and internet.

What's great about it: Low price great quality!

What's not so great: Haven't found any yet....
