What's great about it: Does what I want
What's not so great: Had to install Dual Serial card

"I bought this computer about a month or two ago. I got the samsung 22 inch monitor upgrade. It has been a very good and fast computer for me. Get the monitor upgrade, you will not regret it.
Because the newer computers are all USB ports, the 64 bit do not accept the Serial to USB cables all the time, my friend it did mine it did not. As time goes by, manufactures will make drivers for 64 bit Visa cables. I put in a dual serial card and reassigned it port one and two and rebooted and problem solved.
If your programs don't like Vista, go to start menu, right click on your program, go to capatibility and make the program run as XP. It is that easy for me.
Plenty of memory and speed for my things I do plus works with iTunes good.
No TV tuner inside, although I do not need it. I watch some DVDs and picture is awesome.
Runs quiet compared to my old computer. No problems with whole set up.

What's great about it: Speed, Multi-tasking, graphics, USB/Media drives
What's not so great: Only one CD/DVD Drive

"Like others, I thought the Vista OS would be a pain, so far, it is not too bad. It does ask for quite a bit of confirmation when downloading files, but for security purposes, I can forgive it.
The speed is ridiculously fast....and I am on DSL. Burning files to Disk is lightning, as is the setup of the computer in general.
Had to download drivers from HP for my all in one printer, but that was not a big deal...extremely easy.
I am not a 'gamer', so graphics are great for me. Would most likely not notice any difference to upgrade to a different card.
Left off rating for reliability because i have only had it about a month...
OVERALL--HIGHLY SUPPORT THIS PRODUCT"

What's great about it: Works! It is very fast.
What's not so great: None so far.

"I thought that Vista was going to blow, but so far it is working just great. I was able to get drivers for my printer and other programs which allowed them to run on the 64 bit OS. It just takes a little work. I like it so far, but Vista has a small learning curve. I would buy this pc again. The only thing I would change would be the video card, but it is fine for now."

What's great about it: Fast, easy to setup and use, good projected use in future...

"I bought this computer from Best Buy because of the price, and for the amount of memory on the CPU. 6 GB is a lot of memory, and Vista runs best when you are able to have lots of excess memory.

I have to say straight out of the box it "wowed" me. I bought the package deal with the 22" LCD and the Canon PIXMA printer, and it was very easy to set up (of course).

I've heard a lot of flack about Vista being a bad OS, and had some issues with my first Vista system, a laptop, but this is the 64-bit system, what Vista was really designed to be- the 32-bit system doesn't approximate the true power of Vista.

I've had not a single software issue, and my computer is like greased lightning. I can run games on it without any hitches or hangups, and love seeing them all on the 22" monitor- you should invest in that as well if you get this or you won't appreciate the computer as much.

Too bad it's clearanced. I feel lucky I got my hands on one."

versitile front!

What's great about it: Fast, Quiet, Large Hard drive, Loads of Memory
What's not so great: Windows Vista

"I purchased this desktop about a month ago, and I must say I am glad I did!
Although a little loud for a second or two at startup, the computer throughout usage is very quiet; even when burning CD's or DVD's!
There are many USB ports, which is very nice when you got ten-thousand things plugged into it like I do! (not literally of course...)
The 6mb of RAM is awesome; and the 640mb hard drive is even better! It's gets even nicer with the option of expanding the RAM to 8gb. That's fast!
The video and sound cards are nice; although im not much of a Gamer or Producer so i don't have much say in it.
The multi-card media readers are sweet too; works with any card! Very handy for the hardcore digital photographer type.
The only thing i have against it is Microsoft Vista; while it seems to be working just fine, there are some former XP programs that wont work. And they got rid of the online games! (checkers, chess, etc). It takes a little bit of time to get used to how this new operating system works.
Overall, i would rate this desktop an 8 out of 10, and would definetly recomend it to anyone!"

What's great about it: Fast (Vista runs flawlessly), Quiet, Cheap

"I purchased this Desktop for editing HD video and it works great. I was not a big fan of Vista and was considering installing XP when I purchased this computer. However, all of the programs I have installed as well as IE, Office, etc, run extremely fast. Purchasing this desktop with the 22" DELL monitor is a must."

What's great about it: has very good onboard gpu play fear on 800x640 maxiun settingsno showdows
What's not so great: its hard to find intel 3100 gpu drivers for windows xp version i found it and works great on xp

"I bought a computer from bestbuy 2yrs ago and it was 1300$ with warranty,it had amd 4600x2 which was 2.4ghz the same as this cpu ,and you would think its going to be the same with all the video games,so i started up fearcombat and played for abit and notice this thing isn't laggin like the 4600x2,so i look at the taskmanger and it siad less than 25% cpu usage thats amazing,my old 4600 used 99% but there was something else i notice that it was using only one cpu so i installed the chipset drivers the windows xp version because i took off vista and then started the game backup and it was using about 50% of one the cpus and wasnt maxing out any more on just one cpu its now splitting it up more evenly on 4 cores and the game ran alot smoother,theres 4 drivers you need to install for the windows xp: the ethernet card,chipset,intel 3100 gpu,realtek audio sound so you have some sound on ur computer because when u install the windows xp u aint going to have sound if u dont install the realtek drivers and remember you can use all the vista drivers except the intel 3100 onboard graphics driver that one is hard to find in the windows xp version good thing i found it other wise i wouldn't be able to play my 3d intensive games,also theres no vista discs that come with it,it does include roxio dvd cd burner software and the vista drivers,microsoft 9 not sure what it is nothing important for me,later i open up the computer and moded it with a extra fan in the front so it sucks in more air through the side vents and mounted a fan on the cpu fan that hits the onboard gpu and keeps it cool and its really help out in fearcombat im getting about 30fps at 800x640 maxiun settings and no showdows,this onboard gpu will help me wait tell i get my 4870 x2 or 280gtx and yet it will fit the cards has enough room and the sata slots and ram don't get in the way and measured before buying it,this one has a foxxcon mother board its g33 type im not sure if it supports 1333bus ive tried fining it online but cant get anyspects ecept what bestbuy has posted im wanting to upgrade the q6600 to e8600 if i cant ill get differnt mother board and putting a 650 watt or higher psu in this thing,my old rig had the same psu as this one and it had amd4600x2 which i believed it used more power than the q6600 and it was able to run a x1900gt video it ran all games fine except doom 3 on maxiun settings because doom3 used 99% my cpu and more ram than any ther game resulting into using more power and then the screen would start to chop up so i recomend upgrading this psu if u want to run card that uses more power than my old x1900gt,so the reaseon for me buying this tower is it makes a nice barebone because its fast and cheap and i really didnt need to get something special like cooler master case and 300$ motherboard the micro atx mother boards are much cheaper like 100$ and the 630 evga mother board might be what im going for so i can run that E6800 on that 1333bus so get this computer its cheap and upgrading it is cheap too plus you dont need sli if you going to get one huge 280 gtx or 4870
and pci e 2.0 is the same as 16x,its just that old sliboards divided the 16x into 8x for each slot,so you can call a single 16x slot a 2.0 slot there both the same it changes when you have two,so get a big huge card like 280gtx and 800watt psu and you'll be future proof for the next 5 years with most video games."

"I picked this up two weeks ago to replace a 5 year old system. I thought 64 bit would be okay after ready other reviews but as soon as I tried to install the very first NEW software it would not install. The manufacture of the top internet security programs does not work in 64 OS. Then the blue screens started popping up daily. Even 2007 Microsoft products wouldn't install correctly on 64 OS. I returned it for a full refund and purchased something with 32 bit OS."

"this is my first dell and so far i'm quite pleased we use dell at work in a factory enviroment and they appear to be bullet proof and we have hundreds out on the shop floor so i hope in a home enviroment i would expect years of trouble free computing ."

What's great about it: Good Speed to run large Applications
What's not so great: Need to add a high end Graphics card

"This Desktop PC has awesome power and speed. It is ideal to run the high memory hogging applications, database and development softwares. I use to run the Oracle Tools, Oracle ESB applications, Oracle Database and Oracle JDeveloper tool. Only constraint is you need to change the operating system from Vista to XP pro or unix to run the Oracle softwares."

What's great about it: Good processor, alot of memory and hard drive, doesn't slow down.
What's not so great: Just has an integrated graphics card. But this can be upgraded.

"I decided to put this quad core processor to the test by doing protein folding at home. It utilizes all 4 cores at max performance. On top of that, I ran vmware. This computer didn't slow down a bit! The 6gb of 667mhz ram really helps with making the computer run smooth. Overall, this computer, it very powerful. You will have to add a graphics card if you play pc games. It has a pci-express 16x lane for upgrading. Very satisfied."

What's great about it: Very fast, lots of memory - it's all good!
What's not so great: Onboard graphics - don't expect to play games requiring Texture and Lighting

"Got this machine 2 days ago, got it setup. The speakers that came with it don't work, but that's not an issue ($5). I'm gonna work with the local store to see if I can get a replacement.
With the stock cooler on the cpu, it stays at 38C (100F) at idle. Nice large aluminum finned cooler with 80mm fan on top of it. You can setup the desktop gadget to watch the cpu temps along with the program Speedfan. Nice.
I bought a Asus EN9600GSO pci-e x16 video card from another retailer for $99 and the graphics are now awesome! 2 DVI outputs and you can bump the video settings all the way up for most games. Didn't know what I was missing!
If you buy this machine, you won't be disappointed. If you don't game, you'll be able to do many things simultaneously that you could only do solo before - DVD burning, Video encoding, etc. No problem."
