What's great about it: hard to tell since one never worked for us. What's not so great: never worked correctly. ever.
"We purchased the TouchSmart IQ504, thinking it would be fantastic to have an all in one computer for our small web development business. We took it out of the box, and right away noticed problems with the TouchSmart Notes not working correctly. So, per HP's instructions, we uninstalled and reinstalled all the TouchSmart software. Worked just fine for a while. Then starting having issues installing brand new, compatible software. Then, we got the black screen of death and had to do a complete system recovery after about 2 weeks of use. NOT COOL. Returned the unit, and Best Buy exchanged it for a new one. We opened the box and had the exact same issues with the TouchSmart Notes. Then, noticed problems with the photo and music software as well. UGH! Are you kidding me? Contacted HP. They said that they do mass installs and sometimes just don't catch software installation errors. They acted as if it was no big deal. Two units with failing software, in my book, IS a big deal. I would stay away from this one at all costs. I know lots of other people are having great luck with it, but there seems to be a lack of capability for HP to catch bad installs in the factory. So, your experience is going to either be great, or absolutely terrible."

"I was so excited when I received this, ordered it online and had it delivered. Unpacked it, set it up, and no issues...until about day two, and it would just turn off right in the middle of doing something...the whole pc would just turn off. Then I noticed about 4 or 5 dead pixels..called bestbuy customer service, and they said they would send me one out right away and to return the damaged product back..either at the store or to the warehouse and they would then refund my shipping and handling cost. Waited a couple of days for a new touchsmart...promptly set it up, and the second I turned on the unit, god-awful grinding noise could be heard!...AND there was another dead pixel smack dab in the middle of the unit!! Unbelievable!! So, I'm going to return two units to the store this week-end. I REALLY like how this pc looks, but MAN...is this the norm for this product? I've had a Dell pc for 3 years and no pixel or grinding issues. I've had a Gateway laptop for 6 years and also no issues. This is my first HP product, and with this experience, I'm seriously thinking of looking at another brand. I'll wait and see what the people at Best Buy says and how they can resolve this...otherwise it's a refund I'm getting and shopping for another brand. I must add the people at Best Buy so far has been VERY helpful...I hope that's the case when I return the two unit to the store."

"HP Touchsmart is really the first of its kind in the market. To have a 22" touch screen is really great. Coupled with Windows Vista Home Premium, the Touchsmart Software is simply amazingly easy to operate. Unless otherwise any serious documentation or typing is required, almost all operations can be done by touching the screen. The flip, drag and drop features are very generic and day to day functions which improves productivity quite drastically. Overall impressed for the money spent."

"Now I have say after using my HP TouchSmart for a week I have to say I really love it, but like all things we love we could love it more with some slight improvements. The first and foremost is including dedicated video memory in the lower model and bumping up the dedicated video memory to maybe 512mb in the more expensive model. High end computing should always have dedicated memory. This is something Apple has understood for a long long time and yet PC makers still have no comprehension. I will give you an example the difference dedicated memory makes on system resources. I own a Centrino (Sonoma Chipset) laptop from 2005. That processor doesn't compare with today's multi core systems but because someone was wise enough to put just 128MB of dedicated memory into that computer it even outscores this HP Touchsmart that has a duo core and 4MB of system RAM but no dedicated video memory. Listen I really like this computer but I would say if you can afford to - for $200 more you can get the model above this with dedicated video memory, more hard drive space, faster processor, tv tuner."

"I REALLY DONT KNOW WHERE TO START EXCEPT THE COMPUTER IS FANTASTIC. VERY EASY TO SET UP AND JUST ONE POWER PLUG AND YOUR ON YOUR WAY. YOU CAN GO WIRED OR WIRELESS. THE TOUCH SCREEN IS GREAT IT WORKS VERY FAST. THE COLORS ARE FANTASTIC AND VERY CLEAR JUST LIKE HD. THE KEYBOARD IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT BUT I'M GETTTING USE TO IT VERY SLEEK AND THE KEYS ARE DIFFERENT AND WORKS GREAT SO FAR. I'VE HAD MANY HP PRODUCTS AND THIS ONE IS THE BEST. I DON'T THINK I WILL EVER GO BACK TO THE BIG BULKY TOWER ANYMORE. THIS PRODUCT WILL NOT DISSAPOINTMENT YOU."

"My family just bought a Touchsmart and we were so excited to start using it. After unpacking it and setting it up (really quite easy) it just went out suddenly. It has lost all power and must be returned. I spent one hour on the phone with HP customer service who brought no satisfaction at all. They want me to ship it to be repaired and then they will send it back. Remember, I just spent $1300 less than 24 hours ago. Not an acceptable plan from my standpoint. I'm (once again) VERY disappointed in the way HP handles product issues. I will be returning this unit and will not purchase another HP product... at least for a VERY long time. SO DISAPPOINTING!"

What's great about it: Doesn't take up much room, easy to function
"This is wonderful I got to clean up my computer desk with no more wires, everythings built in, Wide Screen looks sharp. You can either use the touch screen or wireless keyboard and mouse. Picture quality is wonderful. I just picked it the 5th of July and I love it"
