What's great about it: everything
What's not so great: nothing

"Perfect for any tight space or if you just want a cool new piece of technology. Does freeze every now and then but it's usually from a vista error. Speakers are great, touch feature is a nice "wow" factor and does make it very easy to navigate around the desktop and internet. Has great performance even though the graphics card wasn't quite meant for a fantastic gaming experience. IT IS POSSIBLE TO CHANGE THE HARD DRIVE AND ADD MEMORY. This computer did scare me off a little knowing that what I buy is what I get but it's nice to know I can still upgrade some things. Overall, great computer, nice features, I'd buy it again if I had to."

What's great about it: The touch screen and all the goodies that go with it.
What's not so great: Vista

"Overall it's great, but Vista coupled with the fact that it has a touch-screen makes it more prone to glitches, crashes, freezes and things that are just "weird." I've already had to plug it out to shut it down once and it did freeze up a few times.
It has a lot of cool features, but I haven't really had the time to sit down and play with them. I'm a grad student, so I take my laptop with me to school and am always on that. When I have "big" things that use up a lot of memory I use the desktop. I'd give it a 5/5 if it weren't for Vista."

"I have had this for about 2 months now and I can't find anything to complain about. I heard that the operating system was junk, but no problems there either. It's ready to go 100% of the time, has eliminated the need for a seperate tv (so space saving) and does everything I need it to... Plus some!"

What's great about it: All-in-one concept is great
What's not so great: Wish they didn't have to ruin it with Windows Vista

"Love the concept and features, nice looking overall, trying to decide if I should request warranty return as there is actually dirt behind the display that is very obvious on a white background. No strange applications installed but I have to reboot it at least two times a day. Doesn't seem to function well when brought out of a sleep state. I've had it up and running only five days and already have 896 errors and warnings in the Windows Vista event log. If I could return it without paying a restocking fee, I would!"

BIG Screen!

What's great about it: Big screen, fast
What's not so great: Vista

"Have been eyeing these "all-in-one" machines since they first appeared. So far so good with this slick HP TouchSmart. Haven't figured out the TV interface yet but am looking forward to using that feature. The touchscreen is nice and so far has worked well. Not a fan of Microsoft Vista but I guess that's really the only option these days unless you go to Mac, which I am not going to do."

What's great about it: Screen size, included TV Tuner
What's not so great: Power brick, no wall mount capability

"This PC is touted as the perfect kitchen PC. Don't be fooled, it isn't. Since it requires 9.5" of counter depth with the back arm locked in place, being able to mount this on a VESA compliant arm or bracket would have made it perfect. Then throw in a power brick roughly the size of Rhode Island, and it does take up quite a bit of physical space (I knew going in it wasn't VESA compliant, so I wasn't surprised, just irritated that HP missed the boat on version 2 of this platform). Dell and Apple aren't VESA compliant either, but if I'd known about Sony's new all-in-one coming out so soon, I'd have waited for it instead of buying this, as it IS VESA compliant. That said, overall I'm pretty happy so far after owning it for three weeks.
Other points:
Performance --
The PC is snappy enough, despite the fact it runs the Vista Home Premium bloatware. The 4GB of RAM and T5850 processor are well spec'd for what the system does. Having GigE was surprising, and since I have a GigE network, streaming music or video from my media server works great. The wireless adapter has been a little bit flaky, but nothing out of the ordinary, and when it works right, it is speedy over my 802.11n WAP.
Touch Interface --
The TouchSmart interface is really quite handy, and it has allowed some of my smaller children to begin doing things with the PC that they can't quite do with a mouse. The touch screen functionality works with all Windows functions, and the handwriting recognition interface is excellent.
The HP overlay software is pretty cool, as it allows the family to leave notes and has replaced our notes on the white board or post-its on the fridge. The kids don't have to know how to type to leave me a note for when I come back from traveling for work. It's neat. I haven't figured out how to add a one touch icon for watching TV, but adding other apps was fairly simple. The major flaw I found was that the music, video, and photo applets don't have a readily apparent way to load media from network shares full of those items (not good if you're running a Windows Home Server as your central repository for media).
Of course, grimy little people hands muck up the screen, but it cleans easily enough.
Integrated Web Cam --
The integrated web cam works well, and the mic quality is good.
Remote --
The remote is easy enough to use, with clearly labeled buttons and required no training for the wife to figure out. :-)
Screen quality --
This is a gorgeous 22" screen. It's crisp in Windows, DVDs play well, and watching TV is fine. It's not a Digital Cable interface, just a standard cable connection, but you could easily enough connect a digital cable box and get a better picture (assuming you have counter space of course). I've not played any serious games on it yet, so can't speak to how well it does with a high frame-rate FPS game.
Overall, I like the machine. I work in the IT space, so it's tough to impress me, but it's great for what I bought it for -- having a PC and TV in a small foot print in our remodeled kitchen. I could have done something similar with the XPS One or iMac, but the touch screen has really driven home why to go with this machine."

Touchmart useless to less than perfect vision 08/17/2008

What's great about it: all in one
What's not so great: Touchmart software good only at 96 dpi font setting

"I like the all in one feature of this computer. This computer is average compared to others with the same specification. The most important feature is the touchmart software. If your vision is less than perfect, the software is useless because if you increase the scale of the font from 96 dpi ( which is very fine) to a larger scale, the touchmart menu will not fill the screen of the monitor and the labels and other buttons of the menu screen are not visible anymore so touchmart software is useless. I called tech support but advised me nothing I can do but to set the scale of the font at 96 dpi (default value and very fine).
So if you have less than perfect vision don't buy this, very expensive."

What's great about it: The screen is enormous and extremely clear!

"Lovely computer to buy. The webcam included is really cool and the media card reader is so helpful in downloading photos and videos off of digital cameras. The wireless keyboard and mouse are sleek and sharp looking and useful at the same time. Touchsmart software is amazing. To be able to record a message telling my family to clean up is amazing!!!"

What's great about it: huge screen and touch screen capabilities

"1st unit blue screened and got a new one. cd drive for the 2nd unit broke after a week. deciding if i should get a 3rd unit or if i should get something else.
however, while the computer was working, the touch screen was amazing. also loved the space saving design and the low profile keyboard."

What's great about it: touchscreen
What's not so great: touchsmart software freezes

"touchscreen can be a pain when trying to hit links. for the most part i still use my mouse just because right clicking on the touch screen takes longer than using the mouse.
the touchsmart software will freeze every once in awhile. it also doesnt update right away when you add photos or videos. usually takes me about one restart for it to pick up on the changes i made (adding/deleting pics or vids). when using the calender, scrolling through the months takes forever. its new so hopefully they'll get all this stuff fixed. overall good computer"

Great computer for the price 08/04/2008

What's great about it: Easy and fast set up (less than 15 minutes). Flawless start up with clear instructions on actions to be taken.
What's not so great: None so far.

"We bought this computer yesterday for the family (2 adults and 2 teen agers). It was extremely easy to set up. The instructions are very clear and all you really do is plug it in and turn it on. The system recognized the wireless mouse and keyboard instantly. The registration process and set up after it was turned on was flawless. We have an existing wireless network, which it quickly connected to. It installed my 3 year old wireless printer in a minute (the driver was preinstalled on the computer). The touch screen works perfectly. I do recommend that you watch the demonstration about how to use it after you set it up, though. It is clutter free as there are no cables (only the power cord). It has great visual effects (the screen resolution and graphics are outstanding) and we all love the way it looks. It is fast and has plenty of memory for pictures, video, etc. I would recommend this computer to anyone!! Several of our friends are already interested in purchasing one."

"I was a XP diehard but took the vista plunge. No Vista issues networked fine with all my XP computers. The all in one clears all the wires and cables from your desk.
