What's great about it: picks up great, light weight, nice color (purple's my favorite)
What's not so great: short cord, short pipe, have to clean often.
In my house, women are a majority, and so there is usually hair everywhere. The house also gets dirty pretty quickly (cookie crumbs, dust, etc.). I've been searching frantically for a vacuum that would clean up my mess without leaving dust marks on my carpet, without making too much noise, and without taking up too much space. I saw this & thought, "what the heck, I'll give it a shot."
I'm SO glad i purchased this vacuum. It picks up all the dirt in the house (from the carpet and bare floors) AND it's small! It doesn't make too much noise and is pretty light weight. The best thing about it: it didn't leave dust marks on my carpet (I've had a horrible history with vacuums that leave marks on my carpet. For some time, I gave up on vacuums and just broomed the apartment. It was a GOOD workout, but very tiring!!).
The drawback to this vacuum is that you must clean it out often (with all the dirt it's picking up, I guess I can't complain too much about the cleaning =/ ). A lot of the hair it picks up gets stuck on the brush roll, & that gets annoying to clean. Also, the extension cord is short. The pipe is also super short, so you need to keep vacuum close by when using it.

What's not so great: Must empty the canister and clean filter often
To vacuum is one of those chores that I don't mind doing, however this vacuum has made that chore so much more difficult. I wish it had a longer cord but if the performance was better that wouldn't be such a deal breaker. After using in just one room, I need to empty the canister and clean the filter. The filter gets clogged with dirt and pet hair so easily that the canister only fils about a quarter of the way before the suction is blocked due to the clogged filter. I have a low pile carpet but this vacuum does not glide over the carpet easily. The width of the path is narrow but I knew that when I bought the vacuum. Because of the narrow path it takes many more passes to complete the job. I was on a budget at the time I bought this vacuum. I wish I had waited to save up a little more money to buy something better. Can't wait to get rid of this one and buy something better. Take my advice and pass on this one. This is the first review I have ever taken the time to write. Very Unhappy in California

What's great about it: suction is great - pet brush attachment is nice
What's not so great: HORRIBLE to empty, you have to vacuum your vacuum and pull out dirt from every fold of the filter
I needed a replacement vacuum for a small 675 sq ft condo. The reason I got this model instead of the bigger Pet"Expert" model was because this model had the exact same power and suction as the biggeer model and my condo is small. 12amps for both machines, so I figured, why use up more room. Now while this vacuum works great and sucks up cat hair and dirt very well, there are a few things I have noticed which are slightly annoying.
1) The filter in this is not like other vacuums, this is NOT EASY TO EMPTY/CLEAN. You must spend a ton of time getting dirty and dusty and the accordion-like circular filter holds all the dust so you cannot just empty the cannister like other vacuums. You can NOT easily bang out the filter either, you must pick inside EACH layer of the filter to pull out all the dust, or else you lose suction. This is the MAIN reason I am not giving this vacuum 4-5 stars. I should not have to vacuum my vacuum or clean up after I empty the cannister. It has become quite a chore, there are MANY areas where dust/hair gets suck and you cannot get in there to clean it out. At least not easily.

2) does not have a form factor to go underneath things easily, you have to move all your furniture as the front of this thing is round and the picture shows it, you cant get under a sofa for example.
3) Hose does not extend far easily, you can pull it but when I am using attachments, it always seems like I am having to pull SO hard , it just is a small hose.
I kind of wish I bought the bigger one now.
Otherwise this vacuum does what its supposed to, suction is VERY good. Also the pet brush is nice (the spinning one for upholstery, etc, this one does not include the lint remover brush like the Pet Expert , which is dumb anyway)
i really wish I could have rated it higher but you definitely WILL notice that this is a PAIN to empty each time, and it must be emptied often if you have pets like I do.

I had this for about two months. I have one cat and one dog and grandbabies. So used it quite often. Picked up debris easily, had to work to get the pet hair, but did its job. However, now the motor has stopped after only 2 months. I really thought it should of lasted a little longer than this. Good machine for as long as it lasted.

What's great about it: Light weight and powerful
This is the best vacuum I have ever owned. The suction is amazing and I cannot believe how much stuff this little thing can pick up! It's only 12 pounds which is huge bonus! We have had many different brands of vacuums before this one but none of them compare!! It's so easy to clean the filter and empty the bin. I clean the filter after about 3-4 uses to maintain optimum performance. Definitely happy with this vacuum and would recommend it to anyone who has pets.

The 12amp motor makes an impact. I have been searching for something to clean up after my two labs and 14 year old. Works wonderful on short carpeting and rugs. Its too powerful for deep carpet and is hard to push and pull due to the suction.

What's not so great: Filter clogs up.
It did a great job of cleaning up after our dog (a beagle) including the carpet and furniture. However, we where done, the filter was so clogged, it was a mess to clean up.

I purchased this vacuum specifically because it stated that it would pick up dog hair. Well I a glad to say that it does a very good job of it. It is easy to handle are fairly easy to clean. I would recommend it to anyone you is looking for a moderately priced vacuum.

Bought this because my other $40 vac died. I liked the features, size and the price. First few times I used it, worked great. I don't have a lot of carpet but I have 8 long haired dogs that rotate inside/outside. I vacuum 3 times a week. This lasted less than 3 months. Would have saved money investing in a better vac. Now I have to buy another and I can't find my reciept!

I am glad that I read that other reviews first. The tip about the switch at the bottom of the machine that turns the suction from floor to hose made all of the difference in the world, but I probably would have known that if I would have read the manual first! It was easy to put together & shipped here fast. It has great sucking power, just remember to empty & clean the canister often! The cord is a little short for larger rooms as others have stated, but all in all it seems to do just as good of a job as some of the other higher priced vacuums that I have owned. I have several children & 2 dogs and I clean the floors twice per week. I love this little cleaner. The head is even small enough to fit in between bar my stools! It also does stand up to the Lego, rice, Cheerio, hound hair, & play sand tests at my house :-)
I wish that the cord were longer (fixed with an extension cord).
I also wish that the accessory hose was longer or had a hose attachment that could make it longer.

liked it so much I bought 2. dispite of the 3 dissapointments Fur catcher attachment is not the greatest, beater bar stops easily . It is not easy to remove the canister top to empty. I wish the cord was 4 feet longer! Dispite this I love the power, easy gliding & compact storage. I have already recomended to 2 friends that bought & share the same opinions as me . . . so this is actually 3 reveiws!

I bought this vacuum for a spare for the upstairs so I didn't have to lug my dyson up the steps. Its a good vacuum for the price. I think the rounded handle is uncomfortable and the bagless bin is a little small. (Its a pet vacuum so its going to pick up lots of hair but most pet vacuums aren't designed to pick up tons of hair so you have to empty it every room). I would not recommend this if you are looking for main vacuum cleaner. This is great as a secondary to keep off your main living floor. Also don't get this as a main vacuum if you have two or more large hairy dogs. Its just not designed for it. Also, you have to turn knobs and press buttons to get the hose suction to work. its too complicated. You should be able place the vacumm upright, pull out the hose and go, but you can't do that here.

This is the first review that I've ever written, so let me tell you, this vacuum must be pretty special! I have a dog that sheds A LOT and I go through vacuums every 6months or so. I've gone through the big and heavy - supposed to be heavy duty vacs - to even borrowing vacs from my mom or friends to see which ones work the best. Most either don't have the power they claim to have, are too big and bulky, or just plain die in a few months. I actually read customer reviews before making this purchase and I am thrilled that this is the vac I decided to go with. It picks up all the dog hair, it's great on the carpet and on the hardwood floors and it's lightweight which is ideal since I'm 9 mo pregnant and don't really have energy to do a lot of work when it comes to cleaning up. It's compact so I can store it anywhere and emptying is a snap. I love that you control the hose or floor function so that you get the best results each time you use it. I would definitely recommend this product and I hope that my review is taken into consideration when a person is shopping for vacs. Like I stated before, I've never taken the time to actually write a review so I wouldn't have done so if I didn't really believe in this product.

I have had this vacuum for a little over a year and I have always been overly satisfied with how well this thing cleans. I have 3 dogs that shed all the time, and this vacuum picks up hair better than any I have ever owned.
That said I do have a few complaints: 1. The filter has to be changed constantly or it will lose suction, and when you empty the canister you have to clean the filter because it will be clogged. 2. When emptying the canister dirt will get everywhere so do it outside. 3. It is made of cheap plastic and can be fragile. 4. The wheels are held on only by 2 plastic clips that provide tension against the inside of the wheel, once the clips go the wheels fall off all the time.
It was cheap so I didn't expect it to last forever, so I am still satisfied with it overall. The great cleaning power made it well worth it, but I think I will try to find a sturdier version next time.

I read several reviews here before buying. I have now had the vacuum 4+ months. I use it frequently because my cat sheds more than one cat really should. This vacuum is great. It's smaller than I thought it would be, but the handle is adjustable, and the smaller width of the floor suction portion is great for getting underneath chairs, without having to move the furniture. It's also light weight, but I do not find it to be "cheaply made," as one reviewer wrote.
I read that some users had problems with it blowing dust away when used on bare floors. I do not have this problem, as long as I changed the setting to bare floors. There are two switches you can use to change the settings for the hose, bare floors and carpets. When used correctly, all is well. The vacuum picks up cat hair and dust so well, that I have to clean the filters with each use. I used another reviewer's advice and use a small toothbrush and pipe-cleaner type brushes. It's well worth the extra work to have the floors and carpeting clean for once.
The Paw tool works well on upholstered furniture, and just okay on the furniture that the hair especially loves to cling. I do wish the hose were just a little longer, and that it had a little more suction. However, this is by far the best vacuum I've owned, especially for the price.
