"This product has great suction, low noise & weight, & fair onboard tools. 12Amp motor same as larger & more expensive models. Filter is replaceable & HEPA version is available. Main roller brush can be turned off for bare floor &/or hose use. Assembly was easy. However, the dust cup & filter are difficult & messy to empty & clean. There is no headlight or height adjustment on the main roller unit. Narrow cleaning path means more passes but better suction. Handle loop is large & not too ergonomic, but compacts with height adjustment. Overall very happy with this unit for the price"

What's great about it: Pet claw is better than that on my more expensive vacuum. Vacuum seems competent. What's not so great: Hard to push on carpet, blows dirt on bare floors, seems a bit cheaply bilt.

"I researched A LOT of machines before narrowing it down to this one and a Dyson. I just couldn't justify paying $400 for a vacuum when we only have two rugs and all hard surface floors. The Eureka had everything I wanted:
- light, compact - bagless - can turn beater bar on/off - hose extension & wand - good performance
When I got it home I put it together right away and five minutes later was testing it out on my rug that hasn't been vacuumed in weeks. Wow. It was like the rug was being vacuumed for the first time ever. The vacuum container quickly filled up with not only dust and dirt, but loose rug fibers that made the rug look so much older than it is. When I was done I had a brand new rug!
It worked very well on my hardwood floors using only the suction mode (roller turned off) and did not cause a problem blowing dust bunnies away like other reviewers have pointed out.
Removing the canister to empty was a snap, but emptying the canister was slightly challenging trying to get the lid on and off. I'm sure after I do it a few times it will fine. I'm sure other models that have that bottom press-of-a-button emptying containers are much easier, but they are much pricier too. I'm just fine with this.
Also, if you're older or have back problems, you may want something else. The controls on this model are pretty low and require bending over pretty far. Not a problem for me but thought you should know.
Anyways, for the low price and high performance level, if this vac works longer than a year, it's a total win!"

"I have used the Eureka Pet Lover Bagless Upright Vacuum to vacuum 1400 square feet of hardwood floor almost daily (for the last 9 months) and it is still going strong. All except the Power Paw attachment. I'm on my second one. The first one quit working after about 4 uses. And by use I mean using it once a month to remove dog hair from the furniture. (We don't allow our dogs on the furniture so there wasn't much hair.) I called and was told the part was on back order. After 8 weeks, I received the new one. It quit working on the first use. While the vacuum is still under warranty, Eureka will not replace the Power Paw again. Apparently, the first replacement was a "courtesy replacement" and that is all. Just one. That worked for about 2 minutes. A replacement will now cost me over $30 with the shipping.
Some comments on other features: The cord wrap could be easier to use and the light is worthless. The dust wand is a nice feature but if the telescoping part does not collapse easily and sends dust flying.
Bottom line - I wouldn't spend extra for the Power Paw. And based on Eureka's "one-time courtesy replacement" policy, I don't be buying another Eureka project."

"I bought this vacuum for the camper. It worked good for the first few times and then it lost suction. Once the paper filter got dirty, it lost suction. The paper filter is very difficult to clean. It's also hard to remove the lid of the canister once it got dirty. I love the size and weight of it. It's great for small places. I just wish Eureka would make it a little better."

"I have been searching for a vacuum cleaner that will properly clean my carpet and I have finally found it! This vacuum picked up what the carpet installers/cleaners were not able to lift with their commercial unit. In addition to its great performance, it’s cute and easy to store. The hoses work well for the stairs and corners. This by far beats out my Bissell! The canister fills quickly but it does not clog like the Bissell! I look forward to a carpet shampooer made by Eureka; I will begin the search for that now."

"the vacumm,new with spotless filter will not pick a thread or a toenail from carpet(I won't delve into my husbands nasty habits).The "pet hair" attachments have just rubber bristles along with brush brittles....the rubbber causes the attachments to come off while using as it grabs,clings or hangson to the fabric and it pops off over and over!I own a eureka optima,excellent,this one......a dud.It seems to work well on bare floors,but so does a broom!"

"I love this vacuum. I wanted a smaller vacuum to keep on our 2nd floor so I wouldn't have to lug a big heavy vacuum up and down the stairs everytime I wanted to vacuum. I own a much more expensive brandname vacuum that I keep downstairs. This Eureka Pet Lover Bagless Upright Vacuum works better than any other cleaner I've ever owned! And the price is terrific! The only begative was that the canister fneed to be emptied after everytime, and the filter gets pretty dirty as well."

"I thought maybe I was doing something wrong; however, I've been vacuuming for a good 20 years of my life, so I surmised that it must be the vacuum. The sucking power seem great for the first minute or so, but then I noticed that it just stopped sucking and meerly rolled over debris. When it came to large pieces of debris, for get about it. I'm talking about the stuff that would emarrass you if company was over, would not suck up, leaving you to pick it up yourself.
I don't get the 5 star reviews; however, it's very possibe that I just got a dud."

"I have a one bedroom apartment with two cats, a dog, and a husband. Petlover can keep up with the mess. Too small for a large place, however. Brushroll on main unit is great, however, brushroll on power paw doesn't do much of anything. Do no try to vacuum large items as they will get stuck, but there is an easy access panel on bottom in case you accidentally do."

"I read through all the negative reviews before writing this because I always get frustrated by the negative reviews when trying to buy something if no one speaks to them in a positive review. I used this for over 30 minutes without having to empty the canister, and I didn't have any problems with it shutting off or overheating. I have a 1bd apartment and just had to move the power cord once, which worked for me since my cat likes to play with them if I'm not in the room anyway! Any filter vac will have to have the filter cleaned, they just will. My vacuum had been being serviced for the last 2 months I finally just bought one and since I usually vacuum every week I knew it would be a big project, I was amazed! The only semi-negative I have it that it does blow air out of the front, however the air is aimed up so I didn't have any problems with it blowing debris off the floor. And the attachments worked great! I have a black couch and a white cat and I never thought I'd see my couch black again, so wrong was I! Great buy for the price!"

"I have two kitties (I call them fur factories) and live in a 2-bedroom condo. I needed an inexpensive replacement for my Hoover Windtunnel which died after many years of faithful service. This cute little unit fit the bill perfectly. It has the same suction power as my Windtunnel and I'm not dragging a heavy canister around. Love love love the small size. Storage is a dream. This is great for someone living in a small space like me. And although it takes me a little longer to vacuum I love the small footprint of the unit - it makes it easy to maneuver in & around tight places with lots of furniture and "stuff." Complaints are a) the noise - it's quite loud, b) it blows air very forcefully out the front of the unit which sometime literally blows out of the way the very things you're trying to vacuum up and c) cleaning the filter after each use is a time-consuming process - even worse than the Windtunnel. However, for $80 I am definitely satisfied with my purchase, and this will certainly suit me until I can afford a pricier vacuum."

After the "I told you so", she decided to buy this vacuum. After I set it up and I did not even plug it up and I ran it over the carpet and my wife was amazed to see that the carpet was begin pulled up like it was being actually vacuumed. "My wife and I have two cats and thought this vacuum would be good for our little apartment. WRONG!!! It did great for all of 2 minutes and then shut down. After it shuts down we have to wait over an hour for it to start working again, then we get to vacuum for another 2 minutes. We live in a small apartment and vacuuming it with this vacuum takes days. This was a complete waist of 80 bucks. Maybe we just got a lemon but I would not recommend this product to anyone who vacuums more than a couple of minutes at a time."

"I really do love this vacuum. I own 5 cats who love to shed. It took me a while to figure out that the second switch was to turn on the bottom rollers for when using the whole vacuum, I thought it was for the attachment. It picks up a ton of hair. I never tried it on my hardwood because I wasn't sure it could go on it, now I'm going to try with reading other reviews. However the cons that other reviewers did not touch on or didn't experience I'll fill you in on.
The canister is small even for my 840 sq ft aparment. I have to unload the canister a couple time, not a big deal though. The problem with unloading the canister though, and while vacuuming is that not all of the hair will come out, and it gets stuck in the filter. Even while vacuuming the hair will sit in the filter and to me it seems like it could be a problem, not sure though. The other problem I just recently noticed is that a TON of the hair I collect from the carpet is stuck and rolled over in the rollers. I have to flip it over and cut out all the hair. Not sure if this would still happen with all vacuums or not but it's very frustrating, I had just clean the rollers and vacuumed again and flipped it over and saw that the hair had gotten stuck on the rollers again.
Other then those two things I love the vacuum, it picks up awesome, and gets the hair, I love getting all the cat hair, especially off the furniture because you end up with a ton of it on your clothing."

"This is a great vacuum, picks up amazing amounts of dirt, I had no idea my house was so dirty! However, it is a lightweight vacuum so it is pretty small. If you have a big house I recommend the bigger Eureka model. It worked great in my moderately size house however. I did have to empty the canister a lot, but that is a small price to pay for clean carpets. When I took it out of the box I was a bit disappointed at the size and was sure it would not work. But it did, and great! It cleans like a full size vacuum, even though it is of a smaller size."
