I started lookikng for a repalcement for my ViewSonic AG1930 which died a half screen death and found this Gateway 19 inch for a great price and bought it on sight. It makes a great companion for my top-of-the-line Gateway 24 inch which I absolutely loved. $99 is a fablous price and I just love this monitor. I ordered it on Sept 30 and it arrived on October 1. Wow could not be better service. It was true plug and play. I hooked it up using my old cables and it instantly lit up, displayed the image that was already there and it autoadjusted to optimum resolution. BAM there it was! Since I run three monitors on this machine with two video cards, an AGP and a PCI, I already had a Gateway 24 inch and a Samsung 17 inch on this machine. So this Gateway 19 was a perfect match as the third monitor. Picture is ultra bright, has the shiny non-glare screen which is simply fablous. I am not a gamer, so this monitor is a perfect match. I would recomend it to anyone. Great monitor, at a great price.
What's great about it: Very good monitor, love the very bright screen and it is a great match for my Gateway FHD 24 inch.
What's not so great: Lack of verticle adjustment

Well, the online "outlet" price was right, and it looked OK in the store. I asked specifically about the quality of text onscreen (I'm a writer more than anything else), and was told it would be pristine. Wrong. It is no better than my old CRT, maybe not even as clean. Pictures look swell, text not so much. I went back to the store a day later and purchased a DVi cable (it comes with a VGA cable *only*) in hopes of improving the quality of the text on screen. Nope. The cable does not read. I get a "no input" message, so tomorrow I'm back to the store to return it (the cable, not the monitor). I have 30 days to make up my mind about the monitor, and if I don't get headaches I guess it will do. I would recommend this to my photog friends, but not to others who traffic in words.
What's great about it: cheap
What's not so great: bit-mapped text
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My 5 year old 17" ViewSonic monitor died and I wanted to find a reasonably priced replacement quickly. This Gateway was at the "Outlet center" for 129, originally priced at 219. I bought it online and picked it up at the store. I wasn't expecting great quality for the price, but I am still disapointed. The monitor, image, and colors are very cheap looking and looks very "digital" rather than crisp and clear. I would return it, but don't feel like going through the return hassles and spending the extra money for someething decent. I'll just live with it til it dies and spend a little more next time and stick with a higher quality brand name.
What's great about it: price, easy setup
What's not so great: image quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I just bought this Gateway monitor to replace an Insignia model. I wanted a monitor with DVI input to work with my Mac Mini. It took me 5 minutes to hook up the monitor and it looks beautiful. I have never had a Gateway product before but I'm very pleased with this one!
What's great about it: Good price, easy setup, good value.
What's not so great: Nothing

I love this monitor and have no complaints with it. It doesn't take up much room like my old monitor did. It has great color and picture to it. It also is a great value for the money I paid for it.

First off, I should have researched this, but it has NO HDMI!! I know this is my own fault, but it really irked me. Anyways, other than that, its a great product. However, the stand is grey, which is weird because everything else is a glossy-black which is really liked. Picture quality is superb, although at first it looks washed out, which you need to fix with the settings. Overall, awesome monitor is you don't need HDMI (like I thought I did.)
What's great about it: Picture quality, set-up, value
What's not so great: NO HDMI, Grey stand throws off glassy-black look

The monitor is a good monitor on terms of quality of the image while playing video and games. The rest are bad parts- ive had two gateway monitors for 2 years now, one went out last week and my other one went out today. The problems is the power control unit in the monitor itself- they are cheaply made. I only recommend this product if you switch screen out constantly, otherwise get a different monitor- gateways help center is horrible. DO NOT BUY THIS SCREEN PERIOD.
What's great about it: The picture and viewing angle
What's not so great: The quality of the screen

upgraded from a 15 inch standard monitor to this monitor..what a difference, it was like when i switched from standard tv to high definition..wonderful product, great price, i highly recommend this monitor

I had an old gateway 19" FPD1930 bought this monitor and makes my old one look like junk,obsolete Excellent Monitor

I also bought this as part of a package and I love it! It is a nice size and crystal clear no complaints of the stand being plastic its very sturdy and upgradeable. and like someone elae said about fingerprints thats what wipes are for. I like it.
What's great about it: 19inch screen
What's not so great: no cons.

I purchased this monitor as part of a computer package.
It is the perfect screen if you're looking for a conservative size but also something that will allow you to have a bit more screen area. It's a pleasure to watch movies with it.
It's very sleek, stylish, and space-saving. The picture is oustanding even on the VGA port. Viewing angle is much better than most screens.
You may want to tone down the brightness because from factory default, in a darkened room area and a white background, it's quite harsh on your eyes.
Also, check your resolution settings on first run. Set Windows to 1440x900 as the proper resolution. 1440x900 is this monitor's native best resolution and a display message tells you so, though Windows doesn't seem to set to that resolution by default. While playing widescreen DVDs, you may want to reduce the resolution in Media Center to avoid banding.
I have yet to explore the DVI connection.
Overall, however, this product is an excellent value for money spent.
What's great about it: Oustanding Picture Quality, True HD DVI Connector, Good Viewing Angle, Nice Size
What's not so great: Nothing, really.

I got this monitor for Christmas and I love it!
It has a great design, but I am getting lots of finger prints on the little black border around it. Thats not that bad because you can really only see them if you WANT to see them.
Whenever I am adjusting the monitor it feels very flimsy. And Gateway should have not made the connection of the stand and monitor out of plastic.
Other than that, I am planning on getting another for a dual monitor setup for my computer.

I wouldn't believe it could make a difference until I look at it side by side with the old monitor. The images are brighter, more distinct and just wonderful. I had to buy one for my older computer.
