What's great about it: Nice crispy display
What's not so great: not reliable
"This is a nice monitor when it works. I have some issue with it on my ATI graphics card, when I turn off the monitor then turn it back on, or it goes to sleep then awakes, my desktop is frozen. does not matter if HDMI or DVI. Switched to a Samsung monitor and all is good now
Also the stand is pretty flimys. Makes the monitor seem like a boblehead.
The touch panel is pretty decent but gets to be a pain when you are trying to play with settings for a period of time"

What's great about it: Nice design, Image quality, easy set-up.
What's not so great: Nothing
"Look, I dont know what is up with these other people but I have had this monitor for a over a year and it works fine!!! I also do gaming on it and it is perfect at it. Great monitor, large and works on VGA, DVI, or HDMI connections."

What's not so great: Cords should exit off the back of the monitor stand for aesthetic and de-clutter purposes
"Just upgraded an old HP monitor and this monitor is easy on the eyes with a beautiful screen. Much better deal than the HP monitors with the same screen qualities"

What's great about it: When it dies you can see your reflection in the black void that used to light up
What's not so great: Died in three months.
"If you like to set a lighter to your hard earned money, this is the monitor for you. This piece of excrement died in about three months (turns on (blue light), then turns off (red light). If you do a quick internet search, you will see that this occurrence happens all too often. Buyer beware."

Great screen, mean lean

What's great about it: Easy setup, Widescreen, slim design, great price
What's not so great: Flimsy unstable bass
"I bought this thinking It would be great for my business with the extra wide screen and the extra contrast which by far it has... The only problems I have with this is the flimsy plastic base if I hit the desk or monitor just slightly it will rock for a couple of minutes so far it's just done that so I'm not to worried especially for the price being so low. The other problem I have is the contrast ratio which as research has told me is just made up but I'm not really concerned with the numbers I just like the fact that it enhances the contrast to my liking so I guess that would be a good thing. I've owned this for a few months now using standard vga or hdmi on occasion and it's been great I plan on picking up another one of these to dual screen and make an extra wide screen setup."

What's great about it: Looks, Price, HDMI input for Xbox! Touch Panel controls an very light.
What's not so great: no angle with the stand provided
"I just purchased this monitor and absoulutly love it. It works great with my photo editing and to watch videos and movies on. I also hooked my Xbox up with HDMI and it looks better than my 23" Vizio. I would recommend this laptop to friends and family, well worth the $200 bucks! It was the only monitor in this price range with HDMI and 2000:1 Contrast ratio!"

What's great about it: Picture. Connectors.
What's not so great: Stand.
"The picture is great, but variety of inputs are amazing. If you have a computer that can handle HDMI or DVI to HDMI you can watch video in 1080p.
The base for the monitor is made of plastic that allows the monitor to wobble when bumped. This can be as simple as the table it is sitting on being bumped. You can get around this issue by mounting the monitor."

What's great about it: Clear, Crisp Image for any screen resolution
What's not so great: Screen gets too hot
"I've had this monitor for a little over a year now. I use the 800x600 screen resoution (I have vision problem's, and have trouble seeing the smaller ones) and it's a nice crisp picture. One thing I don't like is that if you keep your image quality nice and crisp, it makes the black color look more gray. My screensaver is a black screen with fish swimming accross and the screen looks more gray than black. Also the screen feels really warm which may not be good for a room that gets hot in the summer. Overall, it's a good monitor though and after a year it shows no signs of dying out on me."

"I've had computers and many flatscreen monitors. However, this is the worst example of waste that I have encountered. It should be advertised "disposable" monitor. It lasts a very short period of time."

What's great about it: Nice screen clarity and functions
What's not so great: Short Life Span.
"Odd this monitor died exactly on it's year anniversary. I see many others are strangely having silmilar problems. Luckly I had old non flat screens for backup. I get a flashing blue on button with a faded gateway flashing icon in the center of the screen and upon search of this particular model from gateway I see alot of people with this exact same problem. It was a nice monitor and I was happy with it's resolution and color clarity but to get only a year for this kind of money leaves an extremely bad taste in my mouth. I contacted gateway's online help resource center only to hear that the monitor warrenty expired this Mar, so I didn't even get a year warrenty on the product. Questioning the quality of a product that the manufacture won't even give a limited year warranty on. I guess I'm old school because this is new hat to me not getting at least a year warranty from purchase date on any product. I will not be getting another gateway product and am now sweating the two new gateway computers I am still paying on."

What's not so great: Stand, no wire concelment.
"This is A really good moniter. Gateway monitors are actually my favorit and this unit came in a pacage with my computer. It has an HDMI, DVI, and VGA imupu and an Audio output. The screen is a glossy finish which is really nice. Desplays images flawlessly. Cool blue touch sensitive power and option buttons for monitor.the only problem is the stand and there is no wire concelment. which stinks But a really nice monitor."

"My screen died 39 days past warranty expiration and gateway would not replace it ! I paid susbstantially more than this price but I guess the monitor I bought is no longer sold ???"

Nice Screen Bad Stand

What's great about it: Great Screen
What's not so great: The Stand is terrible, and auto-adjustment is annoyingly off
"I own the larger (older) brother of this monitor, an FHD2400. I decided to get a second and looked at this one, and liked the screen and features. Once I got it back home, and started to use it, I realized that the stand is absolutely horrible. It's all plastic, and the whole screen wobbles for 10-20 seconds at the slightest touch. This might not be an issue for some, but I use all 3 of the different inputs on it frequently, so I'm constantly changing the input through the menu on a regular basis, so this is unacceptable for me. The screen is great though, but every time it auto adjusts, it sets the contrast ratio and brightness levels to values that don't look very good for my set up. Tried contacting customer support at gateway to see if I could get my hands on the stand for the older 2200 series (metal with height and 90 degree rotate too) but they told me it was not possible, and try e-bay for a broken 2200..."

What's not so great: Did not come with HDMI cable, 1st one had a dead pixel.
"Before leaving the store with this I had the salesperson look in the box and saw it did NOT come with HDMI cable (another 30 bux). After setting it up, there was a dead pixel so back it went. There was no hassle getting a replacement (this time I had it checked BEFORE leaving the store). This 2nd monitor is still working great (it's been 3 weeks now) and the family is impressed with it. So far, so good."

What's not so great: It also died with in - 2years!!! as did my gateway motherboard not once but twice!!!
"The screen right after warranty went black and died! will NEVER ever buy a gatway again! the tower is a gateway bought in 2006 and the motherboard on it blew twice for no reason also! what a bunch of junk! and gateway cistomer service will not talk to you once out of warranty of course unless you pay! I swear they have a "chip" in these things to puke after the warranty is out!!! I wil never buy a gateway again!!!"

"Bought the whole Gateway package and had the monitor and the hard drive in the computer both die in about a year. Gateway's customer service is terrible. I will not buy or recommend a Gateway anything unless you like to replace them every year or so since that is all they last!"
