"For only 499 this was the best buy ever. Fast, great display, great sound and great webcam quality.
Only problem I have is I think the touchpad is more to the right than it actually is."

What's great about it: Everything!
What's not so great: battery life
"I have had this about a week. I love it. It is quiet. The display is nice. Gets a little warm but no big deal for me. I like the keyboard placement and the touchpad. This is my second Toshiba laptop in 8 years, they last a very long time. Don't second guess yourself this is a great notebook for the price! I got it for 499.00"

"When it was on sale, this was a great deal for the money. I picked mine up last week for 500 in the store. The display is very nice and I like the textured touchpad. The cpu is middle of the pack, but with 3 gigs of ram it's very capable for the average consumer. Overall it's a very nice and sleek package"

What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Runs a little warm when running, sensative mouse.
"Bought it, opened it, turned it on...and enjoyed it. Enough gb, enough memory...had to take alot of the trial ware off, but other than that..really easy to use. My first time using my wireless modem that I bought 2 years ago...so it has been great porting around the house with no wires. Battery lasts for 2hrs 40mins...just enough to look up what you need on the net. A Great Buy..."

Great Laptop

What's great about it: Speed, multi-tasking, ease of use
What's not so great: It could be lighter and does run a bit hot at times
"We purchased the Toshiba in early July 2008 for our daughter and I have to say that I probably use it more than I thought I would. I love the portability, ease of use and it is soooo fast compared to my 7 year old desktop (which I hardly use anymore). I have never purchased a Toshiba in the past and I am pleasantly surprised at the quality. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a laptop computer for their work, chatting or internet cruising. It would be great if it was lighter, but hey - it is a portable laptop and we have come a long way, so it's not a complaint, just a wish. I have noticed that prolong use will make it run a bit hot, we purchased a computer pad so that it had room to "breathe" and that seemed to cure that. Great laptop!"

"This is a great computer. We got so much in it for the price we paid. It is easy to navigate. And if I want it to be out of reach of my children and can easily put it somewhere they can't reach. I also like that there are fewer cords to worry about unlike a desktop!"

"I had been in the market for a new laptop for a few months when I stopped in Best Buy yesterday. I normally would purchase HP but did not have the money to do so. I saw the Toshiba on sale for 499.99 and was impressed by the specs. It is very comparable to my husband's HP as far as processor speed and hard drive space. It does exceed in RAM but doesn't have the extra bells and whistles his has. I am very pleased with the laptop's performance and its value."

"Bought this laptop a few days ago, and I love it. It's perfect for what I do, surfing, a little blogging, and watching DVD's. Also, I recommend the extra $30 for Geek Squad "optimizing", which puts live 24 hour tech support on the desktop (which I already had to use, it was my goof) and they take out alot of the bundle software no one uses. One thing, DO NOT TRY AND INSTALL OFFICE 2003 ON IT, it gums up the works. I learned the hard way. Other than that, its a great machine, and I am thrilled with it and the great service I got at Best Buy."

What's great about it: The BEST BANG for your DOLLAR with GOOD performance & much more.
What's not so great: It gets a little heavy on your lap after a while, The DVD drive is sometimes loud & the batter dies fast.
"This lacks in a few aspects but it's guruanteed to be a great invest for a begginer & intermidiate users.
NOTE: Your battery will last longer on"POWER SAVER" mode.

What's great about it: TruBrite technology, 3GB memory, 200GB hard drive, built-in webcam
What's not so great: only 3 USB ports, keyboard's placement
"Overall, I'm pretty impressed with this laptop from Toshiba after three days of ownership. I've owned a Gateway laptop for three years and I couldn't believe how I paid close to $700 for its now mediocre specs. The $499.99 price tag of this Toshiba is well worth it but I certainly wished I've seen this when it was selling only for $449.99 last August.
So many cool features that compensates for the few negatives it has. TruBrite technology provides screen clarity and brightness at any angle while I found the sound quality distinctly clear. The 3GB memory is quite an upgrade from the 512MB of my old notebook but the downloading/uploading speed is not too noticeable for me with today's hi-speed connections but it's defintely a breeze in multi-tasking activities. The hard disk size is relatively big but I wished they added more so I don't have to use an external disk anymore. But comparing it's current price tag with those of other brands with even lower specs, you won't be disappointed with this choice.
I only wish they added another USB port to its three which can be easily be filled by the external mouse, printer and flash drive all at the same time thereby leaving you with no space for another accessory. I still feel uncomfortable with the keyboard's placement after being accustomed to the convenient location of my old one.
You'll definitely be happy with this Toshiba for a long time before a new advent of higher computer technology sets in. Congratulations to all of you who made similarly the right choice."
