Pros: Fun and interesting storyline, good progression.
Cons: Doesn't really use the Wiimote as anything other than a d-pad and buttons.

"This is probably one of the most underrated games for the Wii.

While I was off thumbing through other titles, my wife pulled FFF:Chocobo's Dungeon off the shelf because she thought the little Chocobo on the cover was cute. She's not a traditional gamer, but she likes Anime and cute stories, so I told her to get it -- she'd like it.

Turns out, we both liked it quite a bit. It's really a throwback kind of game. I played some of the early Final Fantasy RPGs as a kid, and this one reminded me of a really polished and pretty one of those.

It's good to know what the game is, and what it isn't. By design, this game is a fairly light RPG. It's completely turn-based (you walk in squares, you fight in squares), so if you're looking for an action/adventure, this isn't it.

Combat can get as in-depth as you'd like. If you go slow enough and gain enough levels, you could probably finish the game using tactics that don't extend much past the basic Chocobo kick. But there are a wide range of "Jobs" that Chocobo can choose, and each job has an interesting set of abilities that can change your strategy if you're pushing at moving forward in harder dungeons.

The storyline and characters are cute. Overall the game is very well put together and polished. A great introduction to Final Fantasy and RPGs for a new or non-traditional gamer, or a light and fun diversion for any Final Fantasy fan. My wife now wants to go back and play some other FF games..."
